The food was of low standard but the biggest problem was that a group of young men spent all evening in the bar/lounge f****ing and blinding and shouting out. The Hotel does not provide any escape from this nightmare apart from the guests room. It is a terrible shame as the hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff were very nice.

The staff is the best thing about the hotel. Parking is cut throat if you haven’t booked directly through the hotel. 10 minutes to park/check in or automatic PCN which l was told is pretty difficult to overturn. The toilet was damaged, called it in but it wasn’t fixed till we checked out the next day! The photographs do not match the actual hotel in real life. Otherwise fit for purpose for short visits.

Not brilliant
Staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful and cheerful. Room seen better days , could have been cleaner, shower room smelt of Urine, large step up from room to shower room, very dangerous especially for someone 76 years old as we are . Breakfast ok , fried eggs hard as they were standing there for some time . Plenty of choice and again staff brilliant. Extra charge for breakfast. Music coming from somewhere at 6 am , don’t know if it was dining room as we were over it . Tried to show photos of the step but review wouldn’t accept them ???

Great food and atmosphere.
Food is excellent. Highly recommend. The room was good. My only complaint was the bed. It was uncomfortable. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Staff were great.

I experienced a rather bad stay as when I got to the reception I was not spoken to very nicely when I gave in my booking information. I didn’t feel comfortable after this and they made me feel unwelcome

ON check in at the front desk told me the bar closes on Friday at 10pm which was not true it was 11pm. Had i known that i would have adjusted my schedile to suit me better.

Basic facilities and could do with a makeover
This is a very basic hotel and could do with an upgrade. Booked what was supposed to be a deluxe room but it was very basic. It was a cold night and the heating did not come on. Spoke to reception in the morning and was told a portable heater will be brought up which never arrived till we checked out. Other guests complained they had a similar experience with cold rooms as we all stayed overnight for a function at the hotel.

We had the newer rooms but even then they were dull, dark and depresisng. Wouldn’t recommend or stay there again. Big spacious hotel but soulless.

Stay away
The hotel is very outdated. Needs a lot of updating. For what I paid I am shocked at the hotel. The staff at reception and the duty manager were very helpful but unfortunately that didn't help when the hotel itself was disgusting. It smelt and isn't very well looked after. I expected the service to match the price we paid (nearly £200 for 1 night). Won't be returning.

The hotel doesnt look like it does in Pics. Carpets are dirty. Not very clean hotel. More of a venue for weddings.not recomended. Breakfast was bad. Place was dirty.

It was ok. A bit expensive for what it was. Bar very expensive. TV didn’t work properly in the room and could’ve done with a clean too. No toothpaste (which I thought was a given when staying away). Overall I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for the price paid, I expected more.

Good hotel with most staff being helpful
Check in was prompt and reception staff helpful. TV did not work, and I was offered discount. There was confusion over the type of room I had booked and was asked to move to another lesser room on my second day. I informed reception I had booked the same room for two nights, although the reception member at the time wouldn't have any of this, and insisted I move rooms. Fortunately, another staff member ensured I stayed in my room. I also had to complain regarding noise from neighboring room at night. Again, a staff member managed to sort this out. Overall, the superior rooms are spacious and good, if things go wrong the staff generally manage to sort it out, apart from the one reception staff who needs to be put on some more customer care training.

Disappointed
I was left disappointed after my stay at this hotel as i feel i did not receive value for the price that i paid. The bathroom needed updating, the sink was missing the pop up and was constantly blocked. There were cobwebs and spiders in the bathroom and that was an unpleasant issue everytime i used the bathroom. In general the standard that i received for the price i paid was a let down.

This property has unfortunately seen better days. The whole property was tired and in desperate need of a face lift. We had an Executive room but one of the lights in the bathroom didn't work and the other lights in there, were so dim it was impossible to do your make-up. The restaurante chairs had holes and the cutlery drawers were broken making it difficult for staff to get cutlery.. Staff were friendly and the room was clean.

Very good place to stay
We only stayed one night. Reception gave excellent service, bar staff couldn’t do enough for us, breakfast staff were helpful and accessible. Breakfast was very good. Room clean and bed comfortable. Private parking was a bonus.
