We had a lovely stay! The layout is slightly unusual but the kitchen was spacious and the bedrooms were comfortable. Communication with the host was good and he kindly let us check in early. The location was excellent - near Victoria and lots of cafes and restaurants. The building was on a beautiful square although the apartment is in the basement. We would highly recommend this place to stay in London and hopefully we will be able to come back one day.

Great spot

Great spot close to Victoria station which connects you to everything to see and do in London. The neighborhood is quiet with grocery stores, pubs and restaurants in close walking distance after a long day of site seeing. We had 2 families and 3 generations stay here and it was perfect! Thanks!

A little disappointing

Sheets were too small for the beds : they moved and we had to sleep partly directly on the mattress. One large sheet was missing for the sofa. The pans are too small for cooking for 8 people. At our arrival, there was no heat in the accommodation and it was freezing : I contacted the house keeper by phone : no answer. I contacted Victor by mail, and had a short answer, more than 24h later, not really explaining things : no explaining manual left in the apparement. A shower and a sink were half clogged Everything is a little rag tag in this place. But we had plenty of space, good location and everything was clean.

Do not book, clear mold

The entire apartment (basement unit)was damp and musty with two bathrooms and one bedrooms having large amounts of mold on the walls and ceilings. The storage room had over five bottles of black mold spray showing the owners know about the issue, and they would not answer any calls after check in. The floors and some beds were damp and it was clear they didn’t clean the floors often given how incredibly dirty they were. Even with windows open it was difficult to get airflow through improve the conditions and it didn’t appear the temperature control worked. While the price and location were what convinced us to stay, it was absolutely not worth it. I wish I had trusted the other reviews and avoided.

This place needs a lot of help

Let’s start with the good. The location is fantastic and dealing with the owner and associate, Grace could not have been better. Grace was very responsive to our requests. Now the bad, this is s basement apartment that appears to have been flooded. The floor boards are very warped and uneven. Most every door is warped and difficult to open and close. Despite what the listing says, there is only one serviceable bathroom. The other two are way too small for an adult to use. The beds were not comfortable nor was any of the strange array of furniture. The plumbing had several issues including slow draining sinks, cracked plastic bath tub and rattling pipes. The one bedroom that we called “ the dungeon” smelled of mold and mildew and looked horrible. We closed the door and never went in there. Prior to booking, I was not aware that there are numerous small hotels in this same area that would have been a much better choice. We would not stay here again. Sorry, Victor. 😟

Great location, a little musty though

The location was great, and very communicative. You could tell there was some flooding as the floors and walls had a bit of water damage. The kitchen floor was a bit treacherous! Otherwise it was very comfortable, loved that it had a washer, and close to everything we needed.

Great neighborhood damp and dingy

This rental property is located in a great neighborhood & central to everything you would want. Host met us to check us in & we noted several concerns which were addressed the following day. Property is described as ‘lower level’ which we understood to be a ground level flat. In fact this is a basement unit & should be described as such so renters are aware. The unit is very damp & in desperate need of a dehumidifier & improved ventilation. The parquet wood floor in the kitchen was buckling due to the dampness. One of the bedrooms would be better described as a crawl space & the accompanying toilet & sink was VERY tiny & not suitable for adults. Owner needs to invest in this property.

Great location not ideal for cleanliness

The place was in a really great location. So close to a lot of highlights as-well easy transit access. The place itself suited our family of seven. It had enough beds. The issue we had was it was very very muggy and smelt like mold. I think if they spent 50$ on a dehumidifier and had that going it would help to make the place feel better. The bedsheets were supposedly clean but brown and yellow stains on almost all our sheets. (I did message them about this and the next day brought us new sheets). They had 1 towel for each of us. NO HAND TOWELS. NO FACE CLOTHES. They brought us a few more towels the next day but still no hand towels or face towels. They also had ZERO fish clothes in the kitchen. And the freezer didn’t work because it was pretty much frozen shit and ice all over. I think if they spent a couple hundred dollars on a few of these concerns to improve their place it would be great to stay there. We just couldn’t be in the room much as it was so hard with the mildew smell. So we had to keep our kids out until bedtime. I don’t think it was worth the price we paid. But if in a pinch and you don’t care about those things then I’d say go for it!

This is not what is advertised

3 baths - technically yes, in reality no. One is ok. One is too small to even get into, maybe 10 sq ft. One is the size of an airplane bathroom and includes a shower, barely usable. Property grounds - what is pictured is actually a public park across the street. This is a basement apartment. Damage - property is heavily damaged with broken window and wall glass, floors, broken/missing lights, etc. Repairs to floors scheduled in the middle of our booking so we lost a day of use, and then they didn’t end up coming after all. Management - paying lip service to previous complaints but not really addressing.

Good stay for groups

This stay was large and good for our group of 5. The layout was not a traditional flat but we felt that it worked and there was plenty of space for what we needed, especially compared to other stays in the area at the same price point. The location was really convenient too, only about 8-9min walk to Victoria station. When checking in we did have to meet a host and they were running a bit late, but we just waited at a pub next door for around 30min and it was fine for us.

Good location, but sub-par apartment

It had space for our group of 6, but is not really well-maintained, the mattresses were not very comfortable, and 2 of the bathrooms are so small that they are barely usable. The furnishings are old and tired. The owners appear to be trying to squeeze maximum money with minimum upkeep.

Great location, needs some updating

We had issues with the WIFI and washing machine. They were addressed right away. The main bathroom needs lots of attention. It is a lower level apartment so some rooms smelled mildewy.

Great location

My family and I stayed here for a family vacation. The location is great! We walked to so many nearby places and it’s close to Victoria Station. It’s also bigger than I thought it would be. Plenty of space for five people. It would have been nice to have a lock box for the key because trying to find a time picking up the key interfered with our plans. Also, we had five people and were given five large towels. Not extra towels and we were there for four nights. No hand towels. It’s a basement apartment and has the smell of one. Even with those inconveniences I would return because the neighborhood and location were amazing!

Great location, but property needs some work

Let’s get the first item out of the way… the pictures don’t really prepare you for how small the toilet areas are in two of the bathrooms. That may not have been a total issue if everything worked as expected, but a fair amount of manual adjustment was routinely necessary. While that was probably the biggest issue, there were a handful of others we felt compelled to report during our stay. A prior review stated that they experienced something similar and did not get a response from management to their concerns, but I will acknowledge that they did get back to us. However, in order to address the items, we needed to be in the unit and we didn’t really intend to spend a portion of our vacation waiting on repairs. Still, the location of the property was nice with access to two train stations within 15-minute walks. There are a number of nearby restaurants, as well. However, given the overall experience we had (and the price we paid) it would be difficult to give a full endorsement of this property. Hopefully, ours and the previous guests’ concerns will be addressed for future rentals.

Trouble in Paradise

Victor was very prompt replying to inquiries, even issues that arose during our recent stay. We were however disappointed at the condition of the rental once we had time to evaluate the space. There is no flat screen TV, the dishwasher didn’t work as well as several other deficiencies that could have been safely concerns. I sent a list of issues to be addressed and requested an small refund to compensate us for the inconveniences. That never happened. While the location of this rental is amazing, the lack of attention to maintenance issues leaves us underwhelmed.
