The Neighborhood:

Stoke Newington (or “Stokey” to locals) is one of London’s most distinctive and charming neighbourhoods. Nestled in Hackney, it blends a creative, independent spirit with a relaxed, community-focused atmosphere – making it feel more like a village than part of a busy capital city.



At the heart of the neighbourhood is Stoke Newington Church Street, lined with independent shops, artisan bakeries, vintage stores, and some of the best brunch spots in East London. Whether you’re sipping coffee at a neighbourhood café, browsing records or books, or enjoying a candlelit dinner at a local bistro, there’s always something interesting (and often unique) to discover.



Green spaces are a big part of life here. Clissold Park is a local favourite, with wide lawns, tennis courts, a café, and even a few resident deer. There are a number of useful commuter buses: There's the 73 which goes from Victoria all the way to Seven Sisters around the clock. From the High street you can get pretty much any bus down to Dalston or Shoreditch, including the 149 which goes all the way to London Bridge, or the 243 and 76 which go to Waterloo.



The nearest tube stations are either Manor House (Piccadilly Line), Finsbury Park (Victoria and Piccadilly Line) or Angel (Northern Line) but these are at least a good 20 minute bus ride away.
