The Mountain Lodge is a luxurious lodge nestled in the woods of Hocking Hills on 57 acres of private acreage while still remaining close to Logan restaurants, shops, and local attractions. The lodge boasts 6 comfortable bedrooms, large living spaces, and a magnificent kitchen. Traveling is a breeze when you stay with us as the lodge is fully equipped with great amenities. Property offers game room, outdoor hot tub, fire pit, and hiking trails. State Parks, lakes, canoe & kayaking, ziplining and so much more all located within a short distance from the property.
Mountain Lodge is near Hocking Hills located 5 miles from Logan and 12 miles to Nelsonville, Ohio
The nearby State Park offers over thousands of acres to explore by hiking, off-highway vehicle riding, mountain biking, or horseback riding. Guests will want to visit Logan or Nelsonvilleā€™s Historic Square Arts District, Stuartā€™s Opera House, Hocking Valley Scenic Railway, or the Nelsonville Music Festival that is held every year at Hocking College. The Mountain View Lodge is located 15 miles from Athens and Ohio University. If guests venture 5 mile to Lake Logan you can enjoy the lake with family and friends.15 miles to Lake Hope State Park located in Zaleski State Forest. Guests can enjoy some fine dining at Lake Hope Lodge or a day of picnicking and swimming with family and friends.

The house is large and spacious and the children loved the pool and the game room. We had plenty of space to move around and be together. The large back porch was wonderful.The house definitely needs some TLC though. Every time we ran water anywhere in the house the pipes whined....loudly. We had to set a no water rule between 9:00 pm and 7;30 am so that we did not wake up children with the siren sounding pipes. We also had a lot of trouble with the refrigerator and freezer. When we discovered our ice cream had all melted in the freezer we called to ask for a repairman. We didn't hear back so we called again. When by evening there was still no solution, we called again and asked to talk to a manager. After a very frustratng conversation, we were finally sent a small chest freezer which we were grateful for and did help with the freezer portion. When we expressed concerns about the frig not being cold enough, we were told that we must have overloaded the frig with food too quickly the day before........ but I am not sure what else we could have done when we arrived and needed to store food for 18 people in the frig? It was frustrating that we felt blamed for their poorly working frig. Over the next 3 days we had 2 gallons of milk go bad. The gallons were bought at different places and both were a week away from expiration so we know it was not an issue with our milk. While the house was wonderful in many ways, we will not be returning.

Family Summer Vacation

With temps in the 90's, the pool was a huge success. The house is big with 3 floors and it affords quiet areas when needed. The 57 acres is shared with 2 other cabins, but it is private enough that we never saw anyone else during our stay. The house could use a few maintenence updates, but overall a nice stay.

The property and the cabin are beautifully located in a rural setting. The cabin is absolutely beautiful, not dirty but needs a good deep cleaning. The pool, hot tub, and big yard are a major plus as the kids had a great time. Both porches provide great areas for sitting around, relaxing, and enjoying the family. The pond appeared to be closer but was further than expected. The firepit is a nice area but all the chairs are busted. We reported this and told them that we were taking chairs from the porch over there to enjoy the fire. The wifi is slow but considering the area could be expected. Upon arrival, a few things were noted and reported, the main concern being if the bathrooms were cleaned as items were left and ripped contacts were on a bathroom sink. On Friday, we reported that one of the front doors remains locked even when unlocked as someone was locked out, the ladder in the pool is not secure, the busted chairs around the firepit, and a pump or hot water heater whining loudly like a fire siren heard throughout the entire cabin. On Saturday, we noticed that the washer barely gets sprinkles of water, the dryer has no heat, and the dishwasher is clogged with food in the bottom so doesn't get water to wash dishes well. This was all reported in a message. The property manager was readily available by phone and noted our concerns but there was no response to the messages. Overall, it was a great long weekend enjoying family in a beautiful setting.

Best weekend ever!

We had 13 people stay for a bachelor/ette weekend. I can honestly say it was the best weekend ever. This lodge was nothing short of perfect for our group! Beautiful front deck to enjoy coffee and breakfast on in the morning. Plenty of beds and rooms for everyone to sleep comfortably. Beautiful back deck, pool, and hot tub to hangout and entertain during the day. The yard was big enough for two games of beersby to be played.A few downsides, but nothing that hindered the fun were: Crappy wifi, if it connected it was super slow. The images of the pond made it seem closer to the house but it was at the front of the property. I feel the pond and oil well need assessed asap because we cast our fishing lines in and they came out oily. A little bit of flatter concrete for corn hole wouldā€™ve been awesome. The water pump was extremely noisy and could be heard throughout the whole house. And, most of the chairs around the fire pit were broke and one on the deck, so luckily we brought our own. Also, we werenā€™t aware that there were other sites up the drive from us so we got nervous when the first few vehicles drove past and DoorDash stopped at the wrong house. All in all this place was absolutely perfect and we could not have had a better celebrating me and my husband to be with our bridal party!

We were incredibly excited about this trip, as it was a milestone celebration with guests flying in from across the country to join us. Unfortunately, the stay fell short of expectations in several key areas, which was deeply disappointing given the significance of the occasion.To start, there was no broom in the home. While that may seem like a small issue, it became frustrating over the course of the stay. We requested one to be delivered, but there was no follow-up from the host, which set the tone for the lack of responsiveness we experienced throughout.Hot water was another major concern ā€” it was unreliable and made showers uncomfortable. The jacuzzi, which was one of the main amenities that drew us to this property, was not working at all. That was a huge letdown, especially given the celebratory nature of our trip.We also dealt with a strange, loud noise ā€” likely from either the water tank or the A/C unit ā€” that would go off at random intervals, including overnight. It was loud enough to disrupt sleep and created an ongoing sense of discomfort in what should have been a relaxing environment.Most concerning were the dead cockroaches we found inside the home. This raised serious questions about the cleanliness and maintenance of the property and made several guests uncomfortable.All in all, while the location may have been convenient, the combination of poor maintenance, lack of responsiveness, and unresolved issues really dampened what was meant to be a specia

Our group made our annual trip to Mountain Lodge and it couldn't have been better. This was the first year we had significant snow and as soon as possible the road was plowed. We had a blast being snowed in. What a beautiful and peaceful property. Can't wait until next year!

Large spacious cabin near Hocking Hills

The cabin had tons of space for all of our family to stay. Large open areas for hanging out and dining. The furnishings were old and we had a few issues with things but overall a great stay. Pros - 6 bedrooms, 2 large living areas, open kitchen/dining space. Cons - carpet was dirty/stained upstairs, some minor leaks, dryers did not work, Game table had electrical issue.Iā€™m sure the issues will be taken care of. We loved waking up to deer in the backyard every morning and the hot tub was nice. Plenty of parking.

Overall pretty nice. Beds generally were uncomfortable. ceiling fans in bedrooms were so noisy they could not be used. Wifi was perfectly useless. Pool and hottub were very nice. House was clean, but there were a noticeable number of flies in the house. Overall not too shabby for the price.

Family weekend

We had a great trip and loved the cabin! It had everything we needed and more. We loved swimming in the pool and relaxing in the hot tub that were right next to the covered porch. The kids and adults both enjoyed the air hockey, foosball, and pool tables! The service and WiFi were not great, but it was kinda nice to unplug for the weekend. We canā€™t wait to come back next year!

The physical location was awesome and close to town, easy to find and get to! The set up of the house was also nice. Large common areas. Improvements needed in internet, electric (lots of plugs did not work!), overall general maintenance and tune ups. Loved all the views and common spaces to gather with friends and family.

The lodge is beautiful and very spacious! I, however was disappointed there were no trash bags as promised in the kitchen and the Master Bathroom jacuzzi did not work. I communicated my concerns with th host but the solutions offered did not remedy our needs. Additionally there was no explanation about operating th TV. Many people attempted but were unsuccessful.

Beautiful place, but needs some upkeep

The Mountain Lodge in Logan is a beautiful cabin and easily accommodated our group of 15 (10 adults, 5 teens) during Thanksgiving week. We loved the large, open areas and high ceilings ā€“ but also the fact it provided spaces to ā€œretreatā€ from the hustle and bustle of a large group. The location is great, and we found some great hiking trails in Hocking Hills State Park. That said, however, we were very disappointed with several facets of the Lodge. Having paid a premium daily price for our four-day stay, we expected a premium experience ā€“ but it fell well short. Simply put, the cabin isnā€™t well maintained and needs a lot of attention to live up to its billing as a family-friendly destination. We have provided detailed information about all of this in a separate email to the property management team. But in brief, some outside and inside light fixtures were not working upon our arrival (a real problem because we arrived after dark), the WiFi service was equivalent to a phone hotspot (far less than advertised), circuit breakers had to be reset a few times, we had to fix the wiring on the air hockey table so it would work ā€“ and unbelievably, a bat was inside the cabin. To their credit, the property management did send someone to address a couple of the lighting issues and attempt to remove the bat. We are hopeful the owner and/or team will take our review as constructive criticism so that the Mountain Lodge can live up to its potential as a great gathering place for families.

Spacious, beautiful wood cabin on an unevenly sloped challenging driveway past an abandoned building about 1/8 mile off the road. Green dumpster as you enter is where you will need to put all of your garbage after your stay. First floor has covered beautiful decking in front and back of home with seating easily for 20. Well worn green tinted hot tub and cold pool access in September still. First floor has spacious, well equipped kitchen and two large tables within living area. Separated room is huge for tv billiards games Another separated master bathroom with full bath and loft with tv and futon. Above main living room is a loft with 3 separate bedrooms and one. Small full bathroom. Down into the deep basement are two finished bedrooms with several beds in each and a full bathroom. Floors are a little rough in the hallways Full laundry available
