If you’re coming to Lisbon, you couldn’t possibly choose a better apartment. Located on a hill in the heart of Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest and most fascinating quarter, this bright apartment is ideal for families or groups. Sunny and spacious, it affords glorious views over the beautiful Tagus estuary. If you’re a romantic or tend towards contemplation, this is the best place to enjoy a view that will remain with you for the rest of your life.
Lovely interiors, a sun-drenched living room, scenic views and beautiful surroundings are this apartment’s main features.


It’s also right next door to some national ā€œjewelsā€, such as the convent of SĆ£o Vicente de Fora, SĆ© Cathedral and SĆ£o Jorge Castle. There are plenty of restaurants and Fado venues in the neighborhood, as well as the lively, picturesque flea market on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Our guests love this apartment because of its river views and ā€œauthenticā€ Lisbon location.

DESCRIPTION
Once you open the door to the apartment you’ll be struck by the scenic, incredibly blue water of the river Tagus. Trust us, it’s a view that will remain with you for the rest of your life! So, to make the most of this scenery, take a seat, pick up a glass of wine in one hand, maybe a book in the other, and just dream away!
This homely apartment offers 3 bedrooms (1 with a double bed, the other 2 can have a double bed or 2 singles) and 3 bathrooms (with showers, one is en suite). The 2 bedrooms with river view include traditional balconies, with decorated iron railings, tall windows and unusually high ceilings, as does the spacious and comfortable living-room. The other side looks onto a blind alley with quaint cobblestone streets.

NEIGHBORHOOD
This typical quarter, close to monuments such as SĆ£o Vicente de Fora convent or the PanteĆ£o Nacional, is home to souvenir shops, good value for money restaurants, the ā€œFeira da Ladraā€ (the flea market on Tuesdays and Saturdays), the Fado Museum and also some of Lisbon’s best Fado venues.
Enjoying a traditional dinner to the sound of Portuguese guitars and the dramatic voices of Fado singers, will make you enter a state of inexplicable melancholy which the Portuguese call ā€œsaudadeā€.

This apartment is exceptionally well situated to explore the maze of winding alleyways, cobbled stone streets, old fountains and beautiful aristocratic faƧades. On foot, obviously. On your way, you’ll also come across grocers, shoemakers and other artisans who have been selling their products for over 40 years! This is real, genuine Lisbon, the one most visitors fall in love at first sight.

The apartment is within walking distance of some of Lisbon’s highlights: 5 min from the Fado Museum, the National Pantheon (where the Portuguese royal family and prestigious Portuguese are buried) and the convent of SĆ£o Vicente de Fora; SĆ£o Jorge Castle and the SĆ© Cathedral are about 10 min away; PraƧa do ComĆ©rcio and downtown Rossio square no more than 20 min; aristocratic Chiado and alternative Bairro Alto quarters – about 25 min. Of course, you’ll also have to explore BelĆ©m – the museum quarter. So please take a bus or a tram and spend some time there. There’s loads to see in BelĆ©m!


Nearby, less than a 5 min walk away, runs the ultra-famous 28 tram line which passes through some of the city’s best historical areas, as well as Santa Apolónia metro and train station, which links Lisbon to all the major cities. The metro network reaches a good part of Lisbon. Metro and buses can also take you to Cais do SodrĆ© train station, which serves the beautiful Cascais and Estoril summer resorts, or to Rossio train station, from where you can reach Lord Byron’s beloved town of Sintra.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- 2nd floor without lift in a 18th century building
- restricted car area. Private cars can go to where the street starts (about 40m from the apartment). Taxis, though, can leave you at the apartment door. There is a public car park nearby (8€/24h)
- there is a refundable security deposit of 350€ (payable with credit card through the Paypal system - no need to have a Paypal account)
- check-in: from 4 pm / check-out: from 8 to 11 am. There is no problem in arriving late; however please note that after 10 pm there will be a late check-in fee*. If you need a different check-in / check-out time, please let us know. We’ll try to make it as flexible as possible as we want our guests to feel relaxed and happy (it depends mainly on whether it interferes with other reservations or not).
- Additionally, upon check-in or departure, we are happy to keep your luggage in our office for a few hours if possible.

*late check-in fee: 30€ (from 10pm); 40€ (from midnight). The key can be collected from a safe box at our office and check-in can be done the next morning at no extra cost. There is also a delay fee of 20€ should you arrive more than 2 hours after the scheduled arrival time. In this case, you might have to wait as it will be necessary to reschedule the day’s check-ins.

- note that you’ll be staying in a residential building. We kindly ask you to respect your neighbors’ rest and privacy
- quiet hours from 10 pm to 8 am (loud noise is not permitted during this period)
- strictly no parties
- no smoking in the apartment and in the building’s common areas
- no pets
- upon check-out, please do not leave any garbage, dirty dishes or food in the fridge.
- please note that if you are visiting us on a stag or hen break, we can only accept your group provided all house rules are strictly accepted and followed. Please notify us in advance and we’ll try to make an exception.

If house rules are not respected the refundable deposit will have to be activated.

Our impressions of the property went down immediately after we were robbed of most of our electronics - laptops, cel phones, head phones and even wedding jewelry. We were advised to watch out for pick pockets in Lisbon and so we left it all in the apartment. Coded key pad and locked windows made no difference. I read afterwards that many rentals flats in the Alfama neighborhoods are getting broken into. Ruined our family holiday and turned us off of Lisbon so much that none of us ever wants to return. We were so saddened and angry and disappointed that we left the apartment one night earlier than booked forfeiting hundreds of euros. No one felt safe staying there one minute longer than necessary.As for the apartment it was three bedrooms and three washrooms as advertised however everything was quite dated. Some of the bathrooms were clearly added on but that made no sense. Showers so small you could barely fit inside or toilets where you had to sit sideways as there was no room with a wall right in front.The building is quite old, the decoration of the apartment could use some major renovating. It did not help that Lisbon was 32c and all the owners had were a few floor fans. Not a comfortable place to spend the night

The apartment looked and was exactly as listed, we love the historic and little winding roads of Alfama. And a beautiful view of the Tigas River. We were there during the massive power outage and got locked out due to electronic keypads, the property manager worked very quickly to get us back into the apartment!

I feel so fortunate to have chosen this place. It had so much character and was so very comfortable. The neighborhood was perfect, a unique tiny restaurant every few steps from our door! After a day of site seeing we were so happy to have a delicious meal just a few steps outside our door as well as little markets for essentials. It is just a short walk to the train station and the fleet of inexpensive cabs waiting to take you anywhere you bed. Alfama is the historic district that survived the great earthquake and is the best place to stay in my opinion and this apartment is the perfect place to experience it.

This Property was 5 out of 5. No issues , smooth checkin even got in early. Communication w with rental Company and Owner Was perfect. The Location is ideal we came in to Apolonia train station and a 5 Min walk up to the apartment. Everything available within 1-2 min walk. Groceries, souvenirs, great restaurants etc. Nunno’s Italian was fantastic make sure To try it. The shop Directly below is a local hang out and it got pretty loud and smoky a couple Times so had to keep the windows closed most of the time. Great water pressure and lots of hot water. Kitchen is well stocked and all needed glasses etc available. We used all the appliances except the clothes dryer. Everything worked great. It’s was nice staying in an authentic Portuguese home. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Apartment is clean with lovely decor. Property owner and manager very quick and courteous with responses to any questions and freely offered great suggestions about activities to do in the city. Excellent orientation packets in apartment in multiple languages. Close to metro (though there is a hill - but that's Lisbon, hills are unavoidable). Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to travel to Lisbon as a great option.

Excellent location, clean and the property manager was very helpful! The amount of towels provided were more than sufficient.The communication with the owner was excellent and the check-in /out was efficient and seamless. The price was great for the location. The only negative was that the TV was difficult to operate (instructions were weak). The internet worked great for 5 users and the welcome binder was very useful. The online pictures made the apartment seem larger than it was.

Paula and Carlos were tremendously helpful and informative leading up to our stay and checking in. Considering you are in the heart of Lisbon’s oldest district, Alfama, place was very appropriate and bedrooms were well spaced from each other. It’s a very quaint space that is walking distance to many restaurants and even some historic sites! My one gripe was that noise levels from outdoors and the floor above was incessant. All in all though, Lisbon, its people, culture and food are all glorious. We’ll be back.

This apartment was conveniently located a few blocks from Santa Apoloina rail station which made it easy to get in and around Lisbon. The building is very old and the apartment is a maze of small rooms connected by hallways. There was some problem with the plumbing as all 3 bathrooms smelled of sewage. The small living room had a couch that sat 2 people comfortably but rest of seating was uncomfortable chairs around a large dining table. This would be better as a 2-bedroom since the third bedroom off the dining room was so small that the doors couldn't even close. Very expensive for what we got.

The apartment was amazing! We never expected to find 3 bedrooms and three full bath with a view of the water for such a reasonable price. The space was light and airy. The beds were comfortable and the location was perfect. Carlos did a fabulous job of introducing us not only to the apartment but to Lisbon as well with great recommendations for restaurants and sights to visit. I would highly recommend this rental and hope to return soon.

This apartment worked very well for our 3 night stay in Lisbon. The location in Alfama was perfect for experiencing the day to day activities of Lisbon. Our party of 3 couples each had there own bedroom and bath, the seating area was comfortable and the kitchen well appointed. Its central location to so many wonderful restaurants, small grocery, and bakeries was great. We had a great stay and appreciate being able to use the apartment

We slept 8 adults and it was very comfortable. Having 3 bathrooms is key. The location is great, a few cute bars on the street which are easily walkable. Easy access to public transit. Would recommend!

We had a great time staying in the apartment in Alfama. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops nearby, and only a few blocks to the Metro and train station. The apartment was very clean, and had everything we needed for our stay. The owner, Paula was so nice and helpful when we were booking our trip, as was Nuno, the representative who checked us in and out of the rental.

Our extended family of grandparents, parents, and two teen children enjoyed this charming, spacious flat. The manager recommended the restaurant Nonna just a block away. We ended up dining there 3 times in our 5 day stay. The owner Manuel was fantastic and the food was stunning. We highly recommended the place to stay and that dining experience.

Die Wohnung liegt zentral (dadurch nicht ganz leise) und ist zweckmäßig ausgestattet. Der Ausblick auf den Tejo mit Sonnenaufgang ist wunderschön. Vieles ist fußläufig zu erreichen, Bus und Bahn gleich in der Nähe.
