We had an excellent week at The Granary.
We had an excellent week at The Granary. The house had ample parking for our needs, had extensive covid precautions, is secure and the owner lives on site but is in no way intrusive, just on hand to help with advice and any repairs that may be necessary. For example, batteries in one of the smoke alarms began to run down and they were replaced within minutes whilst we were out and about. A very welcoming and helpful host with a most professional yet friendly attitude. The house was warm and comfortable, light and airy with space for members of larger groups to be separate on sofas away from the main lounge. We did not venture too much into the garden but there is plenty of greenspace and garden furniture, patio table etc for outdoor activity. With the pub just a short walk down the road and a children's playground also in the village we felt that our needs were met. With walks from the door (Castle Bolton and Aysgarth Falls with good paths across pleasant fields) and Askrigg just 4 miles away we had plenty to go at. There are three bath/shower rooms but only one of these had a walk in shower and this detracted a little, only a little, from our convenience as the two bathroom showers had to be handheld. We would definitely recommend The Granary and would look for a return visit next time we are looking for a few days in Wensleydale. Thank you Mike and Angela for making this accommodation available.
