Intoxicating design just steps away from the most famous distillery on the Bourbon Trail! This 5 bedroom + 5 Full bath space was curated with imaginative innovation and in an incredible location, the Senate Floor is the entire second floor of the historic Mason & Hoge building on Main Street of downtown Frankfort at the mouth of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. You're just a short walk to the favorited Buffalo Trace Distillery as well as several local restaurants and bars.
Old Hollywood: You'll find the glow of Hollywood lights and mirrors and be starstruck with the high gloss gold and black bathroom. King Bed + en suite full bathroom.

ROOMS:
Ropes Room: You'll know why we named this room the moment you step inside. Cozy yet swanky, you'll love this space! Queen Bed + full bathroom just across the hall.

Hands Room: Regal with deep blues and a wainscoting accent wall, this room hosts Queen Bed + en suite full bath. Named for its signature bedside lights, you'll be in great hands in this space.

Palms Room: A getaway within your downtown retreat, this room transports you with its upscale beach vibe. King Bed + en suite full bathroom.

The White Room: Airy yet stately, settle into the white room. King Bed + en suite full bathroom.

The Senate Chamber: Revel in the downtown views, gather around the table or settle in for conversation in the front gathering space of the loft where you'll find a full kitchen + fireplace +two televisions + plenty of plush seating.

We offer Private Chauffeured Transportation on our Limo Bus. Please let us know if you are interested in these services and we will connect you directly with our driver to discuss routes and pricing.

We do not plan your route or make reservations for your tours or tastings, however, we can make some suggestions.

  • Kentucky State University was chartered in May 1886 as the State Normal School for Colored Persons, only the second state-supported institution of higher learning in Kentucky.[1] During the euphoria of Frankfort's 1886 centennial celebration, the city donated $1,500 towards the purchase of land for a new college on a bluff overlooking Frankfort. The new school formally opened on October 11, 1887, with three teachers, 55 students, and John H. Jackson as president.[1] Recitation Hall (now Jackson Hall), the college's first permanent building, was erected in that year. KSU became a land-grant college in 1890, and the departments of home economics, agriculture and mechanics were added to the school's curriculum.[1] The school produced its first graduating class of five students in the spring of that year. A high school was organized in 1893. This expansion continued into the 20th century in both name and program. In 1902, the name was changed to Kentucky Normal and Industrial Institute for Colored Persons. The name was changed again in 1926 to Kentucky State Industrial College for Colored Persons.

We had a great stay in Frankfort. The luxury loft was close to many bourbon distilleries. The loft has plenty of restaurants, bars, and bakeries within walking distance. The loft was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Ben was great to communicate with and check-in was easy.

Very clean, great location, easy to walk to restaurants, coffee, ice cream on the next corner, or the bar immediately downstairs. The mattresses were great, each room has its own bathroom which is fantastic, and the check-in directions were simple. This was the perfect vacation for our group to call home-base as we did the Bourbon Trail. Would definitely recommend!

50th Birthday Celebration

This loft is amazing!!! Even nicer in person. The layout gives you a great common area for everyone to hang out in and privacy in the bedrooms…plenty of room for 10 adults to fit comfortably. The decor is so unique and amazing. The location is great…you can walk to good restaurants and bars. The bar on the first floor of the building is a bourbon enthusiast’s dream…and they also make a good martini if you aren’t in the mood for bourbon! Close to Buffalo Trace and other distilleries. Ben, the owner is great to work with. He helped us set up a private catered dinner in the loft our first night and a sprinter van with a driver to take us bourbon tasting the next day. Which made our weekend truly memorable!! I would highly recommend.

Easily the cleanest rental we've ever experienced. Location is perfect for bourbon trail visits, Buffalo Trace less than 10 minutes away. Host is commumicative and helpful.

We met up with friends here for a whiskey weekend, and we couldn't have asked for better accommodations!! Place is exactly as pictured/described, and so close to anything we wanted to do! Highly recommend!!

Wonderful VRBO

This was the perfect place for five couples to visit the Bluegrass. The condo was just as pictured with plenty of room for privacy as well as the common area for socializing. It was an easy drive to Keeneland, distilleries, and wineries. But we really didn't need to drive anywhere. There's lots of shopping, food, and drink a few steps away in downtown Frankfort.

perfect property perfect location

Property is beautiful and very clean. Has everything you need and great location with easy access shops and restaurants. Property manager made check in and check out a breeze and had tons of helpful information to help enjoy the stay. Great Location for the Trail

Group of 9 exploring parts of the bourbon trail. This location was great and provided enough space for everyone. We walked to dinner each night and found great places to eat and drink. Highly recommend this property.

Great place to stay in Frankfort, KY

This place was excellent. Plenty of room for everyone, each room was unique, and the living space was expansive. The location was perfect, being able to walk to lots of nearby bars and restaurants, and also close to several distilleries. Amazing bourbon library downstairs on the first floor.

Great stay and prime location for Buffalo trace

Stayed here with a group of 8 guys for a Bourbon trip. The property is a 5min drive to Buffalo trace, 20mins to Woodford. The location is perfect with a coffee/breakfast shop across the street and bars and restaurants all within walking distance of the property. There is also Kroger close by. Parking was ample on the street as well as a close by garage that was $5 for 24 hours. There is a private entrance with an elevator that is great for bringing in bags/groceries. Bedrooms were all spacious and clean as well as Sonos speakers wired throughout the whole house. Had some communication issues with Ben in regards to messages through the VRBO app, but we were able to clear it up. My only recommendation to improve is that the bath towels were a little small for almost everyone in the group. Hope to return on our next trip to Kentucky.

Stayed with 3 other business partners for a 2 day meeting. Property was fantastic, exactly as advertised and served us well hosting add-hoc meetings with customers. Ben was great to interface with and would highly recommend renting from he and Melinda.

Buffalo Trace Bourbon Tour

Quick trip with family and friends to Frankfort to check out Buffalo Trace Distillery. We had a lovely time, and if returning would definitely rebook this property. Close to the distillery, with a cute downtown area. Found a nice dinner for breakfast and lots of good local restaurants.

Great loft, but the explanation on how to get into loft could have been better. The door to get into loft was not on west main but St Clair and there were multiple doors on St Clair to choose from. Better explanation and signage would have been helpful.

Bourbon and Friends

5 couples came for the Bourbon Trail and intended to dine out most nights, but the Loft embraced us so well, we were excited to get back and enjoy the comforts there instead! The pictures show a lower lever “bar” area that looks like just some extra gathering space or a venue, but 2 months ago it was opened as a full scale bar. The owner and bartender, Dave, taught us more about bourbon then any of the tours and was an immediate friend. So, while Frankfort is in the midst of revitalizing the area, we enjoyed that space and our large living room so much, we never needed anything more to do! Ben and Melinda were amazing hosts and never missed a beat to help us through any minor issues. Ben came to help us with the oven, got into our group and stayed for dinner. All of us are over 60…or more and were amazed by the well equipped kitchen. Plenty of glasses, utensils, cooking utensils, pot, pans, plates and even various sizes of platers. We had plenty of towels, toilet paper, fabulous shampoo, conditioner and shower gels in each bathroom. I don’t think anyone wanted something that we couldn’t find to prepare any meal or get ourselves ready! An experience that truly went beyond our expectations. We will stay with them again!

On the Bourbon Trail

The Senate Loft was the gathering place for us and our children to celebrate or 50th wedding anniversary. What a spectacular place! Clean, comfortable, well stocked and so well decorated. Easy parking, and we felt safe with the easy in-and-out process. All the recommendations made by our hosts were great, we especially loved the bar below us called The House of Common: A Bourbon Bar. Go see the bourbon trail and enjoy this gem!
