"The Grassington Lodge is truly minimalist. A very small room, two bath towels, and one hand towel. For the third of three nights they added a bath mat and a bar of soap. The only staff ever present was the cleaning lady and her assistant. She was kind and helpful but certainly not enough to welcome and assist guests. "

"Its hidden in the heart of York, blink and you're in the Shambles. Its stressful if you're using a car, theres no parking lot near 3km, besides, they are really expensive. The hotel itself is pretty neat, quiet, clean, comfy but no air conditioner. Staff always smiling."

I had a small accident and broke my foot, the hosts were so helpful and really went out of their way. Everything I needed was there and it was easily accessible to the city center. I cant wait to return. Top boutique hotel I've ever stayed at. I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. I'm so glad I booked here! "
