The location of this house is great. It's far enough up the hill that it's a nice quiet area, yet close enough to walk to the Playhouse and Jigger Shop. We got a lot of great exercise walking. Be prepared to do some hills if you're going to walk.
We had a great time celebrating my mom's "70th birthday" all weekend by hanging out, cooking and having dinner together, and playing a lot of games. Our young adult kids even enjoyed some nearby hiking and disc golf. We had 8 of stay for the weekend and had plenty of room. We spent most of our time in the kitchen, living room, and on the deck eating lunch and enjoying the sunshine.
We had 20 people one night after my mom's party (which we held at Mt. Gretna Lake & Beach) to play games and eat pizza. There was plenty of room in the living room area to spread out and line the food on the island area. There's a pizza place right down the street to order pizza. (Mt. Gretna Pizzeria) They're super friendly and we liked their food.
We loved the house and the space. I do recommend that if you don't like a firm bed, bring a foam or pillow top for the mattress. The master suite has one and it made a huge difference, but all our other family members said the beds were way too hard. It was fine for them for a long weekend, but we would've brought foam had we known.
We ran out of eggs for breakfast and forgot to bring salad dressing. FYI - there is a small store/gas station within a short driving distance.
We would stay here again! It was the perfect place for our family. Communication between the host & I was great. Emily answered any questions I had leading up to our stay.
