Welcome to your next favorite home-away-from-home at Sleepy Bear Cabin! This beautifully laid out cabin is located in the popular Deer Mountain area, close to all the great Northern Black Hills recreational areas. Recreational Springs is within 1 mile of the cabin, making it very convenient to enjoy the local ATV and snowmobile trails, Spearfish Canyon can be accessed in just a short 5 minute drive, Terry Peak is within 10 minutes, and Deadwood is only 15 minutes away with taxi service! Wanting to see the larger sites - Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Sylvan Lake, Custer State Park and more are all about an hour drive away from the cabin, making it a great place to visit the sites, or enjoy the local trail and outdoor recreation in the area!

After enjoying the local sites and spending days on the trails, coming home to Sleep Bear cabin will surely make your vacation all worth it. Local wildlife frequents the area, so sitting on the large wrap-around deck and taking in the beauty of the hills will be a nightly treat. The skies here are also amazing at night, full of stars and free from the hustle and bustle. The wooden interior of the cabin will give you that cozy cabin feeling while you kick your feet up by one of the 2 fireplaces, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon and evening. The open living and dining area is a great way to enjoy the company of your guests and makes it easy for everyone to gather together. Large windows bring in a lot of natural light and the surrounding hills as well. The kitchen comes complete with a fridge, oven, stove top, regular coffee maker, dishwasher and microwave, perfect for making meals at the cabin with your friends. The lower level has a living area with large sectional, TV, and fireplace. There's also satellite TV and internet in the cabin to stay connected. The loft includes a king bed, while the other 2 bedrooms both have queen beds. There's also a sofa and chairs in the living area on the main level, and a futon and chair in the living area on the lower level. There's also one stall of the garage that's available for use.

Whether you're in the area for enjoying some local adventures, or relaxing by the fire and enjoying some nights in, Sleepy Bear Cabin is the perfect place for your next vacation. We welcome you on your next trip!

Cabin was okay, not clean, dead flys everywhere, the floors had not been cleaned, bed covers smelled dirty, kitchen utensils ( pots and pans) were old and need to be thrown away. Also there was a camera point straight into the kitchen. The photos of the wood for you to burn is not accurate, you get there and they tell you have to buy your own wood, because they have it all locked up so you cant use it! You .

Very nice cabin. Felt like at home. Very clean. Liked that we were able to park our car in the garage at night, had a couple storms at night with hail. Nice view from the deck, saw some deer. Liked the family room downstairs. Not far from Deadwood. A little over an hour from the parks though. Over all enjoyed our stay.

Perfect property

Quiet and private. Very clean. Close to Lead, Deadwood, Spearfish. Nice grocery store very nearby which was a big plus. We had a wonderful time. Only downfall was it snowed over 6" on May 14. Luckily there was a shovel in the garage. We would definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

I have been coming up to South Dakota since 2009 and this was the best cabin we have stayed in yet! The host was great and I will be using his properties again in the future. The cabin was clean, well stocked, and had amazing views!!

This is a beautiful cabin with great views of the mountains. The cabin has plenty of space to spread out with the 3 levels. Loved sitting on the porch and waiting for the deer to pass through.

Perfect getaway

It’s a lovely cabin. We saw deer and other wildlife everyday. The hot tub was fabulous. Very clean and great communication with property manager. About an hour away from Mt. Rushmore. Perfect location for privacy and relaxation.

Only one stall of the 2 car garage was available for use. Broken toilet paper roll holders. Dirty under the beds. Couldn't figure out how to run the ceiling fan on the main floor. Beds were comfortable. Kids enjoyed the loft space.

Sleepy Bear Cabin perfect for family stay

Our stay at Sleepy Bear Cabin was great. The location in the Black Hills was quiet but not too far out. It had bedrooms/baths on three levels which enabled our family room for privacy but had nice open great room for spending time together with new grandson. Nice views of backside of Terry Mountain ski area from the deck along with a few deer wandering through. We were able to drive to all the parks for daily site seeing but looked forward to returning to cabin to relax. Adult kids used hot tub which was convenient and we had a few nice dinners all together at large table. Many nice touches made this a very nice stay for our first VRBO. Budi made the paperwork a breeze and always answered any questions about the process or house promptly. Thanks for the making our first trip to South Dakota a positive one.

My bucket list

Visiting South Dakota has always been on my bucket list and i couldnt have found a better place to spend my 1st trip there. The cabin was so beautiful and the view was awesome. Winter Anniversary Trip

Beautiful cabin, for a 25 year Anniversary trip. We went snowmobiling, Deadwood, Sturgis, Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse. We enjoyed the hot tub and even got snowed in. Budi was great, we were plowed out within a couple hours, bit opted to stay in. We will be back. Thank you Foster's for sharing your home.
