This was the PERFECT stay in the mountains of NC. The farmhouse was so cute and put together well for our stay-we even had farm fresh eggs! I loved having a laundry room as well. The stocked game shack for the kids did not disappoint either. What a clever addition! The property is absolutely beautiful. You can hike to the summit and other parts of the farm for breathtaking mountain views. One evening, we were lucky enough to see fireflies taking over the night sky on one of the trails. We did not leave the farm too often because there was a good bit of exploring we were able to do there. We also enjoyed mornings filled with deer right by the farmhouse and the sounds of the babbling creek next door. Our kids even saw some crawdads in the creek!The owners, Ken and his family, were kind enough to let our kids pick blueberries by the main driveway and that was a special treat as well. The property has so many beautiful flowers to discover too.We canā€™t recommend this place enough. These are great hosts and we appreciated meeting them during our stay. We look forward to returning and seeing what else they do with the farm!

The Maglebys were wonderful hosts. The farmhouse is in a great and quiet location with lots of hiking and beautiful views on the property. If you love the outdoors you will love this place!

This was our second stay, the first being 8 years ago was just my husband and I, this time we brought our 8 and 12 year old kids. The home was perfect for our family. The kids loved the game shack and exploring the property. The hens had recently started laying again so we checked for eggs regularly. We loved being greeted by the 4 dogs and 2 cats. One of each spent our last night there on our porch. They were the sweetest most loving babies. The donkeys and mini horses are adorable and the 2 full size horses were also friendly. Lisa helped us get the pizza oven set up and was just so friendly and helpful. Sleeping with the windows open was just lovely. We enjoyed the quaint town of West Jefferson and stopped at the farmers market over the weekend. Had great beer and food at New River Brewing and did some shopping as well. Hoping to be able to go back. The kids are already asking to go!

Charming cottage

We loved this delightful farm cottage. Decorated with love, comfy beds, very clean, n the outside spaces were amazing. We loved visiting with all the friendly animals. One of our favorites- thank you so much!

Lovely stay

My husband and I enjoyed our stay thoroughly at the farmhouse. The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed in the bathroom and kitchen. I particularly loved taking walks and petting all the animals,although I was never brave enough to get any eggs;) The atmosphere on the deck and porch were lovely with the sound of the creek.

This is everything you could want from a farm stay. Friendly, healthy animals and a property that has obviously been thoughtfully cultivated over the years. Our kids LOVED it. Lisa is a great host and the house has everything you could think of. Quiet and peaceful yet convenient to West Jefferson, and the New River and many other parks. We will definitely be back!!.

Beautiful farm

Lisa went above and beyond to make our stay special. From feeding the farm animals to taking hikes with beautiful views to using the pizza oven by the fire, we had so many memorable moments. We used all 3 properties on the farm with the treehouse being the favorite for our girls.

Perfect family time!

My family of 4 (2 adults, 5 yr old boy, & baby boy), along with my mother in law, grandmother in law, and husband's cousin stayed three nights while in the area for a family wedding and thoroughly enjoyed the property. Inside was comfortable and cozy; It really felt like being welcomed into someone's rather than a standard rental. The outside areas created the perfect evening ambiance - we were lucky to have a warm fall weekend and enjoyed listening to the wildlife, stargazing and roasting marshmallows by the fire pit. We also enjoyed walking around the property and visiting the animals. Overall, it was a great time spent with family we don't see often!

Cozy, peaceful farmhouse with breathtaking property views

Beautiful property with animals, hiking, and breathtaking views. We enjoyed the cozy farmhouse for the weekend and were so impressed by the property. Our adult kids even enjoyed the animals and the acres of hiking trails to beautiful summits and sweeping outlooks kept us all busy exploring. I canā€™t say enough about the hospitality of the farm. All the little special touches made for a wonderful family getaway!

Beautiful Place For Relaxation

This was such an adorable place with the sound of nature and a babbling brook to put your mind at ease. We enjoyed our stay and were very appreciative of how clean, comfortable, and peaceful this gem was to us! I love flowers and herbs so I was smiling from the moment we arrived at the gorgeous landscaping! We had everything we could possibly need right there. Just perfect

We stayed in the Farm House in June and even though we knew it was just what we were looking for, arriving there right at twilight with the twinkling garden lights outside, soft lamp lighting and calming music was so peaceful. Hearing the creek running beside the house and all the wildlife, really helped us relax and enjoy. Lisa and Mark were great to deal with and made our trip super special with the little touches. We will definitely be back!

Quiet Family Weekend

This was our second visit to Lisa and Stevenā€™s wonderful mountain farm. Our girls (2, 4 and 8) had the best time hiking to the lookout, seeing and feeding the chickens and goats and playing with the new outdoor games. West Jefferson is nearby for dinner, live music, donuts and farmers market. A relaxing and fun stay for the whole family. Thanks Lisa for an awesome visit. Weā€™ll be back!

Wonderful stay and wedding venue

A fantastic place for a wedding, as well as great lodging. My husband and I, as well as another couple, stayed 3 nights at the farm house, for our sonā€™s wedding, which was held at the barn. The accommodations were perfect, and the barn and gallery were a gorgeous location for the wedding. Lisa, and her husband, Stephen, were great hosts, and worked extremely hard to make everything amazing. Everyone attending seemed to be impressed with the property. It truly was an excellent place for a wedding, or a vacation getaway.

Idyllic Thanksgiving Getaway

This was our second Thanksgiving stay on the property and this time we tried the cabin. We loved the space so much. The personal touches, art, and little details make it feel like home. We have family in the area and itā€™s been very convenient for us to be able to come here before and after our gathering and not have to travel home right away. Our family pups had an absolute blast tagging along, checking out the horses and Gypsy Chicks, playing with the Willinghamā€™s pups, swimming in the little creeks nearby, and going for hikes around the property. Lisa did so much to make our stay a great one and we canā€™t wait to return in the future.

This place is lovely!

I love this farm and small town. Great getaway place. There are a lot of antique shops close by and scenic routes to choose from. There is ample space for the family and puppy. I would visit and stay again.
