The Neighborhood
Launceston is a beautiful city blending both city and country charms, with heritage streetscapes, a slice of urban wilderness and gourmet food and drink available at every turn. We aren’t just biassed, many agree, with Launceston named Australia’s best town to visit in 2022!
Nestled amongst these iconic buildings, you will find many delicious cafés and restaurants, an array of shops and boutiques, a vast range of cocktail bars and pubs and many amenities and recreational spaces.
Launceston has many things to see and do including the vibrant Harvest Market every Saturday morning, the Princess Theatre, hosting local, interstate, and international performances, the Star Theatre for a cosy, cinematic experience, and many pubs and venues that host amazing live, musical talents.
Often referred to as the 'Lygon’ Street of Launceston, you will find some of Launceston’s most popular eateries and amenities on the illustrious Charles Street. George St is also known as ‘Eat Street’ with a range of restaurants, bars, gin houses and cafes to cater for most tastes.
The Cataract Gorge is a spectacular natural formation where you can enjoy long and short walks, fresh water swimming basins, the world's longest single-span chairlift and vibrant peacocks! An additional, unique way to experience this attraction is via the Tamar Cruise vessel, which cruises through the waters that carve between the rocky formations.
The City Park which is known for its beautiful oak tree gardens, playground for the children, a plant-filled conservatory and cheeky snow monkeys. Nearby, you will find Penny Royal World. This attraction provides you and the family with a fabulous day out, with boat rides, rock climbing, rope courses, and more found here. For the adults, Penny Royal also provides a beautiful atmosphere where you can enjoy a wine or coffee.
An additional area to note is the Seaport Precinct. Here you will find some of Launceston’s most beloved restaurants and bars scattered along the edges of the Tamar River. Restaurants to note are Mud Restaurant and Bar, the Levee Food Co. and Spice. Across the bridge you will find the Riverbend Park for all day play entertainment, the Boathouse Café and Silo Hotel.

Getting Around
To get the most out of your stay, to be able to explore all that Launceston and its surrounds have to offer, a car is recommended. Additionally, there are many alternative options listed below:
METRO BUS SERVICE: Metro bus service provides transportation throughout Launceston and its surrounding suburbs each day. To access timetables, routes, and prices, please visit the Metro Tasmania Website.
FREE TIGER BUS: The bus travels around the city. There are bus stops located nearby outside Princes Square Park and the Launceston General Hospital. It is easy to spot – painted with the black and brown stripes of a Tasmanian Tiger! For timetables and routes, please see the Metro Tasmania Website (Free Tiger Bus).
ELECTRIC SCOOTERS: You will find purple electric scooters scattered around Launceston. To access these, please download the App ‘Beam’. Please wear the helmet provided and be safe!
BIKE RENTAL: Roll Cycles at 112 Cimitiere St offer bike rentals with options to suit most riders. Whether you are taking a leisurely stroll around town or taking on our world-famous mountain bike trails, Roll Cycles have you covered.
UBER: Uber is a popular form of transport used by many locals and tourists. To use, simply download the ‘Uber’ app on your phone and book a ride to your destination.
TAXI: Local taxi service can be found on the internet.
AIRPORT SHUTTLE: The airport shuttle service can be found on the internet.
Notes
Please note that there is no off-street parking available. Parking is free on the street after 5.30pm. Alternatively, across the road there is a large car park which can be parked in for just $7 a day.
The apartment is fitted with a hot water cylinder which has a finite amount of hot water for showering. This normally allows 20 minutes of hot water before the allocation is exhausted. The system takes roughly 4 hours to heat up once fully used.
You will be required to climb a flight of stairs to gain access to the apartment.
Please note that there are steps that lead into both showers.
Please note that a $50 fee will be charged if guests fail to check out by agreed check out time.
Please note for longer stays, an additional fortnightly mid stay cleaning charge will apply to your stay.

Great stay!
This large contemporary 2-bedroom is one story above the street and right in the middle of town. It is super clean and the kitchen is well stocked with dishes and utensils. Really appreciated having a dishwasher and laundry machines. Theres lots of restaurants nearby, for Italian, try La Cantina. Just be aware that parking is all paid and costly around there, so if you can, just leave the car somewhere else and walk everywhere. Lauren was very easy to communicate with, thanks for a lovely stay!

Rooms were spotless and plenty of room all round, amenities were good only problem was door latch for the main bedroom en suit did not work. Good location only draw back is no on sight parking but alternatives are available, very noisy on a Saturday Night as youth congregate in arcade across the road.

Clean, spacious, secure, fabulous location
This apartment is so spacious, its perfect for family and / or friends staying together. Lovely big windows overlooking Brisbane Street below, walking distance to everything - the gorge, the mall, bars and take away shops.
It has all everything you could need - large fridge, plenty of pans and utensils, 2 extra large bathrooms, extra blankets and plenty of wardrobe space. There are some basic food items in the pantry and paper towel provided. There was a queen bed in each room and 2 air conditioning units in the living and hall areas. We really didn't want for anything due our stay.
It has easy access up the stairs and a gorgeous little entry to the front door - it feels very secure. It has been beautifully renovated. The owners were easy to contact too and quick to respond to any queries - very professional and friendly.
I would highly recommend this apartment and wouldn't stay anywhere else in Launceston.
