Along the promenade that bears its name, we pass from the first buildings adjacent to the old town to single- and two-story houses with facades decorated with stonework on the door and window lintels—this home is one of them; their distinctly stately air takes us back to the origins of their first occupants.<br>Between one section of the promenade and the next, stairways and alleys wind their way up toward the cliff, now occupied by numerous buildings that, with their irregular shapes and striking colors, offer us a cubist and variegated landscape.<br>About halfway along the current promenade stands the neoclassical church (the former San José chapel), dating from the 17th century, around which the village gradually expanded.
