Puget Sound/Mtn Sunrise View - NO CLEANING FEE- *PLEASE READ FULL DESCRIPTION *

Situated on 2+ acres, this "attached guesthouse" offers stunning sunrise views of Hat Island, Puget Sound, and the Cascade Mountains. Relax on your private deck with morning coffee or a bottle of wine from one of Whidbey Islands award winning wineries. We are a 5 min walk to Comforts of Whidbey winery and a 5 minute drive to the seaside village of Langley, filled with fantastic restaurants and charming shops. This property is a perfect couples getaway. Your privacy is our top priority.

First Light is a non-smoking property. We have a no pets and shoes-off policy and no children under the age of 12.

IMPORTANT- if for any reason you need to cancel, YOU MUST CANCEL YOUR OWN RESERVATION. Simply pull up your VRBO account and cancel your reservation directly through VRBO prior to the “no fee cancellation period” of 14 days. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this causes. If you are unable to cancel within the timeframe of 14 days prior to your stay, contact me directly and we can arrange for you to “reschedule “ but I will be unable to provide a refund.

*This guesthouse is designed for two guests only. If you wish to include a third guest you MUST obtain permission from the host and an additional charge will be collected at check-in per person, per night. Please, NO parties.

The guesthouse bedrooms are located on the second floor. The rooms are well appointed but please be aware that the ceiling height on the 2nd floor is 6’-8” and therefore is not recommended for individuals over 6’-5”. The master bedroom has a stunning view and is spacious and very comfortable.
The eat-in kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and the deck offers dining and lounging areas. Deer are frequent visitors and eagles nest nearby.
During March and April keep an eye out for whale watching boats. Gray whales spouting can often be seen.
The living room has a TV with cable and access to Netflix and HBO. There are books, games and puzzles as well as binoculars at your disposal.
There is a fire pit (upon request) with plenty of fire wood, when burn bans are not in place.
Although your privacy is important to us, we are available to answer questions or make recommendations on activities and restaurants.

Incredible Stay
Mary and Mark are such wonderful people! Their guesthouse is quiet, private, and very clean! The special touches they provided were so sweet. We felt so relaxed and welcome! I can’t wait to visit again! The views were unbelievable! Oh and the master bed was incredibly comfortable! I can’t say enough!

Whidbey Island Retreat
This was our second stay at Whidbey First Light. From the moment we arrived, Mary and Mark were so helpful. We were greeted and welcomed into our space. The blankets, including an electric blanket, were wonderful additions for mornings on the deck. The views are unsurpassed. A perfect way to begin the day. The overhang is deep enough that even the rain didn’t get to us. The cottage had everything we need, including a bed that was super comfortable. Given that the first time we visited was so wonderful, this second trip had a lot to live up to and did not disappoint. Thank you and we will definitely come back again.

As good as it gets!
We couldn’t have imagined a better place to stay on Whidbey. Mary & Mark made us feel so welcomed and assured that we could contact them any time. We received an immediate response when we did so. The guesthouse was CLEAN with tasteful updates, had a great cozy feel. Mary had provided coffee, tea and some tasty treats to get us off to a great start on our vacation, along with ample information about places to visit. The seating in the living room is very comfortable - which stands out relative to prior experiences in other rentals with slouchy couches and rigid uncomfortable chairs. The view from living room, bedroom (2nd floor) and deck look directly out to the water where we were able to experience sunrise mornings and the evenings full moon. Location was close enough to Langley. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks Mary & Mark!

Second wonderful visit
Last time I stayed was a solo trip, but this time I brought my husband. He loved it too and we're already wanting to book our next trip. Next time we'll stay longer though to have more time sitting on the deck. We loved walking down to Comforts and being so close to all the fabulous restaurants in Langley.

This was our second time at First Light in Langley. Mary's place is a wonderful getaway, a peaceful serene spot outside Langley, Washington, with a beautiful view looking out toward the Cascades beyond the waters of Saratoga Passage. Water, mountains, wildlife, and quiet: ah, relaxation that can't be beat. Mary is a wonderfully thoughtful host offering privacy and a lovely place so well-stocked with everything one could need. We can't wait to return there again!

Great view
Everything about First Light on Whidbey Island was great, especially the view from our bedroom and living room. Owners very respectful of our privacy. Didn't realize the "cottage" was attached to the owner's house, but the owners were very quiet, and their being on the property didn't detract from our stay. Would have liked to have stayed longer to get to know them better. Very nice people!

Peaceful stay in a beautiful location
The property is immaculate and tastefully decorated. No detail was overlooked. The kitchen was well stocked and the bed and living areas comfortable. Heaven
This has to be as close to heaven as possible. This was our third visit to First Light. You will find no better hosts than Mark and Mary! This trip is our escape from the real world. Peace and serenity! Morning coffee on the deck watching the sunrise, the deer, the birds and the water. Evening on the deck, a bottle of wine, watching the sunset! What a relaxing time. We are made to feel like this is our summer vacation home. Can't wait for next summer. Mary and Mark, thanks for sharing your guest house.
