Shore Fun – Waterfront Family Retreat on the Corrotoman River

Welcome to Shore Fun, the perfect getaway for family gatherings, adventure, and relaxation. Located on the sandy shores of the Corrotoman River, this spacious 3 bedroom, 2.5-bath home offers everything you need for a memorable vacation.

Enjoy a large kitchen with gas stove and oven, cozy fireplace, game room with pool table, washer/dryer, central air/heat, and upgraded Starlink Wi-Fi. Step outside to a private saltwater pool (open early May–late September), hot tub, sand beach, firepit, and a 200' deep-water dock—ideal for fishing, crabbing, kayaking, or docking your boat. Kayaks and canoe are included, and yes—we’re dog friendly!

Nearby, Yankee Point Marina offers boat rentals, ramp access, kayak rentals, live music (summer weekends), a pool with snack bar, restaurant, and convenience store—all within walking distance. Take the free ferry into Kilmarnock for shopping, wineries, restaurants, art galleries, museums, and the Compass Entertainment Complex featuring arcade games, go-karts, ice skating, mini golf, and more.

Explore the river by boat and pull up to waterfront favorites like Merrior Tasting Room, Tides Inn, and Urbanna Seafood Restaurant & Raw Bar—or play beach volleyball at Windmill Point Tiki Bar. You might even kayak alongside dolphins or spot rockfish from the dock!
Please note: The path to the water is natural and uneven in places, with small stumps along the way. We recommend sturdy shoes and a bit of caution—but the view and water access are well worth it!
Heads up! Trash pick-up isn’t available at the house, so guests will need to take their garbage to the nearby dump when checking out. We’ll provide directions to make it easy!
A signed rental agreement and government-issued ID are required. Two outdoor security cameras are on-site. Motorboat not included in rental.

This is our family’s second year enjoying the property. Daytime and nighttime fishing, fire pit, hot tub and the pool room were enjoyed by everybody. Peaceful and Private this is a perfect location for our family getaways. Thanks for sharing your home!

Our family had an amazing time here. Beautiful home with a lake view, kitchen and house was really well equipped. We had a great time on the dock fishing and crabbing, made some smores around the firepit. The pool was cold so we really didn’t use it, but will definitely getting a pool warmer next time in the future if we’re going back in late September. Other than that everything else went smooth. Cindy was a great host. Thank you Cindy! We will definitely coming back in the near future!

Lovely property. Walk to the water is uneven with lots of small stumps so be careful, but definitely worth the walk for that view and fun in the water! Lots of space to spread out in the house.

Love this place! It is so beautiful and quiet. This was our 3rd year here and it was another great trip. The property was very well maintained, the house was clean and well equipped. I have had great communication with the owner. Definitely planning to say again!

Paradise in the Northern Neck

Another perfect stay

Something for Everyone

The home, property grounds and amenities were perfect for our fall family vacation. We were blessed with fishing fortune (caught crabs, drums, spot, perch, trout) which kept EVERYONE on the docks for hours, The water was calm so several enjoyed kayaks, boards and beach. Pool and hot tub were convenient and in good shape! There were plenty of beds for the family and spaces (screened porch, deck, pool room) to spread out. We were pleasantly surprised and look forward to returning again to enjoy the peace and fun. Thank you!

Great time at the Rivah!

We enjoyed this lovely house for a family weekend. Grandparents, parents, teenage kids, and little kids. House was great fit for all - beach, pool, dock, great fishing, etc. We definitely look to stay here again!

Clean and Relaxing

The house is even more lovely in person, the neighborhood is quiet. Great communication with the owners. My three teens had fun together and my husband and I were even able to go sit and listen to the waves by ourselves.

Idyllic holiday weekend

Loved the house, setting and experience. Cindy was easy to work with and the house was as shown in the pictures. Lots to do for tweens and adults: the pool with its toys kept them busy for hours, and the pier/sandy beach were fantastic for birdwatching over morning coffees. The kayaks were a welcome way to tour around the area, and there were so many other things to do, we didn’t get to half of them! The nearby marina (5 min walk) has food and live music on some nights - it’s worth checking out for those nights when you want to see other people. Our only “complaint” was that there wasn’t enough time to do everything! Thank you!

Amazing Trip

House was awesome. Plenty of room for 3 families and the dogs. The fishing pier was a game changer for our family of fisherman and the kayaks were so much fun to use. This house has officially set the bar for our big family for all future trips. Thanks for letting us stay in your wonderful home!

Relaxing stay

We had a great vacation here! The house is very pretty and we had lots of fun hanging out at the pool, paddle boarding, kayaking and crabbing off the dock. No luck fishing😞. We were definitely not bored on the property. Supplies and cookware were very well stocked! The house is fairly clean, but don’t look under the beds. As stated in the description of the house the nearest trash site was about 15 to 20 mins away. It does take away from the relaxation as we had to make a few trips just for trash. The only other issue we had was the Wi-Fi. After reading other reviews, I can see we were not the only ones. We understand that there’s only so much that can be done and Cindy did her best to help. Even using a hotspot, it was very sporadic and probably shouldn’t be advertised as having Wi-Fi. However, we would definitely stay here again.

Not all it seems

This trip went from good to bad to ugly fast. The very first thing that we realized immediately was there was no WI-FI. The listing says there is WFFI. We notified the owner right away and it was suggested that we use a hot spot, yet that was not possible so we had to drive places to make a call or use the internet. We had adults that were taking a working vacation and this made things very stressful for them. The grill was full of grease and debris and caught fire when we tried to use it. The pool was really dirty and not running and the hot tub cover was really hard to take off and on . The bed sheets in the master bedroom were ripped and there was no replacement ones ,so the landscaper had to come over bring us some. The oven broke and we could not cook so, all the food we had bought to cook had to be dumped($300 dollars in groceries). Speaking of dump, the owner requires that you drive 30 minutes to the town dump at the end of the stay to dispose off all trash. Well we did this 2 times during our trip and were sure to empty all bins when we left yet the owner said we had not remove all the trash and wanted to charge us extra money! We where refunded by owner for dinner but it seemed like they didn’t really care.

Another Great Trip to Shore Fun

This was our second time staying at Shore Fun and we hope to have our family meet here again next year. Fully stocked kitchen, great deck with screened porch for family dinners and the view can't be beat. Cindy is an excellent host and has thought of everything to make your vacation here a special time!

Never wanted to leave!

So relaxing , wildlife abounds, ( eagles nest must be near) a comfortable home with lovely view, a perfect dock, beautiful sandy beach, hot tub, pool, kayaks, screened in porch, deck with a view, on and on. Plenty of bed space for kids, everything we needed!

Property was fantastic - right near marina where we rented a boat for the week! Pool, kayaks, hot tub were all enjoyable for our family! Beds super comfy, which isn’t always the case! We had a fantastic time!
