Leave the hustle and bustle behind at this beautiful 3-bedroom, 2-bath vacation rental with access to Hitchcock Lake. Scale the waters on the provided kayaks, fish from the dock, or take in scenic views and play cards in the 4-season sunroom. Going out? Take a short drive to Mount Southington Ski Area in the winter or visit Downtown New Haven or Hartford. Return to the charming Wolcott home and prepare a meal in the modern kitchen, use the workstation or art easel, and cozy up by the fireplace.

Catnap was such a beautiful peaceful location. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. The games and puzzles offered our family fun and relaxing evenings after our sightseeing adventures! We would definitely come back.

Our stay was very relaxing. Our host thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and welcoming. The house was totally equipped with anything you might need. It was extremely clean and organized. I highly recommended this house. We would definitely rent it again.

Christmas visit

I stayed at this property over Christmas while visiting family in the area. The house was immaculate and we loved looking through the vast collection of books.

We had an amazing stay. The place is immaculate and very well stocked. We enjoyed 3 days of kayaking, fishing and smores over the fire pit. Will be back soon.

Great stay on the lake!

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy home on the lake. Though it was a winter wonderland when we traveled I can imagine this would be a perfect stay in the spring time. Our hosts were wonderful and highly responsive, and we appreciated that snow removal was taken care of before we arrived. Very clean and comfortable home. We would definitely stay again!

I have rented this property for the past several years and the experience is wonderfully consistent. Clean property, beautifully appointed, useful amenities (didn't even use them all!), great lakeside location, proprietors are easy to work with. Would rent again! ;-)

Peaceful Weekend Getaway

This house on the lake was perfect! It was clean, fully stocked with anything you may need, and offered a peaceful getaway on the lake. It was a bit cooler so after sitting on the dock for a bit, we retreated to enjoying the view from the all seasons room (and provided electric heater)! Looking forward to returning in the future!

Perfect spot to have the family together

The lake house is delightful, well appointed and the location is amazing. Our 13 year old caught (and released) a few fish, the 11 year old enjoyed the kayak and tubes on the lake, the weather was perfect, the surroundings so quiet, and all the amenities one could want were there. Thank you for sharing this lovely home!

Wonderful!

We highly recommend this home! Such a beautiful home and gorgeous view of the lake. We loved our stay here and would definitely come again. It was very comfortable and had everything we could ever need. The owner was very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. We hope to stay again in the future!

Wonderful house, perfect for a family stay. We had a wonderful time in the house with our grown kids, and our grandkids. The house was perfect to hang out at, plus the backyard was fantastic. We really enjoyed sitting by the campfire, kayaking on the lake etc. The local liquor store and grocery store are walking distance from the house.The house itself was thoroughly stocked with every amenity you could think of. Very clean, and functional for a group of people.

The host was very responsive. We even had 10 inches of snow one night and they had someone come and plow the driveway twice and then sent someone to shovel and salt/sand all the walks and the driveway by 8 am the next morning. The house had many amenities that made us feel at home, including spices and every utensil imaginable in the kitchen, many games and books for entertainment, and other thoughtful items in the bathrooms and rest of the house. Very well decorated with attention to detail. We've stayed in many vacation rentals over the past 25 years and this is the best one we've ever stayed in.

Best stay at an inn I’ve ever had

Beautiful house; everything you possibly could need is there. The beds were comfortable. The lake views were incredible. But the best part of our stay were the hosts. They were friendly and helpful and just plain wonderful!! I’d recommend this inn to ANYONE. You won’t find anything like it.

Italian family from Trieste, my niece outta Daytona Beach, my wife and I from Connecticut stayed here as the last stop of a four leg journey together. It was perfect. The water, the quiet, ducks, and yes swans. The warmth of the fire-pit extended into the home. Exceptionally decorated. Almost storybook. The kitchen had everything we required to make our meals. The home and location provided everything we needed to feed our souls after a ten day journey.

Third times a Charm

This is our third visit to the Catnip Inn. It is a beautiful home right on the water. We arrived on an unusually warm Thursday evening and immediately went to the dock to relax. The communication from the homeowner is wonderful. The beds are comfortable and everything is so convenient. We may have one more trip in our future. I am definitely recommending this home to others.

Absolutely perfect!!!

The second we entered this home, we were enveloped in warmth and comfort. And that feeling didn't fade at any point in our 4 week stay. There truly is no detail that the owners hadn't anticipated for their guests' needs. The kitchen, the bathrooms, the games, the books, the lake toys, the fire pit, the grill and outdoor eating area - all were so well supplied that it just felt like home. We shared this wonderful lake experience with family and friends who were equallyblown away. We were sad to leave, but have already reserved our time next summer.FABULOUS!!

Central Connecticut Gem!

This is a charming house that actually is even better than the photos! Spotless and organized. Kitchen is perfectly stocked. Came with a bag of nice Italian coffee, Kurig and teas with refrigerated creamer. Bed was terrific and large. AC and Heat easy to use. Easy to find and surrounded by everything you need, like food, coffee, bagels, restaurants.

I stayed in this lakefront home for about a week while in the process of moving to Wolcott. I extended my stay several times because it was such a wonderful place and was a great place to be while waiting for house to close and furniture to arrive. I stay in places such as these often and enjoy them much more than a hotel This was by far the best one I have stayed in! Not only is the house beautiful and right on the lake but the owners are responsive and super friendly. The house has just about everything you can think of that you might need and it feels like you are staying in someone's home- and not a rental property. I highly recommend this to anyone- you will never want to leave!

Great Lake Home

I traveled with my husband and 3 daughters (25, 11, and 10) and this home looked like the perfect spot to spend a few days while we were traveling. The communication with the property manager and owner were wonderful both ahead of time and during our stay. The home was as listed and was very comfortable with everything we needed and more. Everything was well labeled with clear instructions. The home was comfortable for us all! We were looking forward to being on the lake, but it rained while we were there so we skipped that activity and instead just admired the beautiful views.

Lake house 2024

An absolute gem. I love that the house is spotless and so well organized, well appointed, beautifully decorated. Lots of small touches make it feel homey and comfortable. For me, it is perfectly situated to lake and family for our summer visit. Love the location, conveniently located to local grocery/liquor/restaurants, etc. (You must try Blackie's hot dogs!) Owners/property management were friendly and available for communications. Amenities are many and in good shape (love the kayaks, and sometimes just chillin on the dock!). I only wish there were MORE rooms so I could invite MORE of my family to stay and enjoy this wonderful venue . Thank you!
