Charming Adirondack Retreat Overlooking Lake Luzerne
Adirondack-styled house on a quiet, 100-acre lake near Lake George and Saratoga Springs. Our house is situated on private lakefront property with gorgeous views of the lake and surrounding mountains, in a quiet, mostly seasonal lake community. Listen to the call of loons on a large screened-in sleeping porch in summer; in winter, warm up around the cast iron wood stove. The house is well-appointed inside and out with central heat and A/C, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, washer/dryer, a hideaway TV, Sonos speakers, and great mattresses.
For outdoor fun, we have four kayaks and two SUPs to launch from the private dock (accessible via a long staircase from the house), a hammock, propane grill, Adirondack chairs, and a comfy outdoor sectional on the open-air deck. The screened-in porch is perfect for lounging, sleeping on the futon, and dining at a table that accommodates up to 8 people. A calm, sandy beach is a short walk down the road. In the winter, opportunities for snowshoeing, tubing, cross-country and downhill skiing are all around you, as well as a massive indoor water park in Lake George.
There is one queen bedroom downstairs, and a full bath downstairs with a large walk-in shower. Upstairs is a queen bedroom with en suite half bath and desk; a large king bedroom with amazing lake views, full en suite bath with bathtub/shower; and a small twin bed bunk room with trundle. For additional sleeping/napping options, there is also a sleeping nook downstairs with two twin beds separated from the living room by a curtain, and a queen futon on the screened-in porch.
The town of Lake Luzerne is a short walk away with a grocery store, rafting/tubing options on the Hudson and Sacandaga Rivers, a rodeo, and Nettle Meadow Creamery. Lake George is a 15 minute drive away, and Saratoga Springs is about 25 minutes. And a little further afield all the hiking, paddling, and skiing options in the 6-million-acre Adirondack Park await!
