Then head to the National Arboretum Canberra, a living collection of forests and gardens that blend natural beauty with sweeping views and event spaces. For a classic Canberra panorama, drive up to Mount Ainslie Lookout, where Lake Burley Griffin and the city’s landmarks unfold against distant mountain ranges, especially striking at sunrise or sunset.
Nature lovers will find calm at the Australian National Botanic Gardens, home to an incredible variety of native flora. Wander shaded trails, listen to the birds, and walk beneath the lush canopy of the Rainforest Gully.
If wine is more your pace, nearby vineyards offer cool-climate character and countryside charm.
