This outstanding church, also referred to as the Church of Our Lady of Light, was first built in the 16th century. In 1755, this monument suffered great damage due to a tumultuous earthquake that ravaged the surrounding area. Fortunately, this landmark was rebuilt and still holds onto many of its original features, which guests are free to observe and examine in full. In turn, this is a fantastic monument to visit if you are looking to learn more about the history of this area and how this building has managed to form a bond between the citizens of the past and present. Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Luz is situated just under 5 minutes away from the centre of the region.
