Great location!
Wedding party used two properties of Thomas’ which had hallway separating for our entire wedding party. Bridesmaids on one side and groomsmen on other and all were college friends who loved being able to spend time together visiting and playing games in between wedding events. Worked perfectly! Really nice properties and safe!

Please invest in new bed pillows!
The loft was truly lovely, clean and spacious, with a wonderful kitchen we made full use of. The pillows in the big bedroom are terrible! Too flat or hard as a rock - please invest in new ones! Also, the temperature control of the shower in the big bathroom appears to be stuck at scalding. I could not get it to change or get cooler at all. It could prove very dangerous for young children or older adults.

Nicely appointed
Unique space, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Location is great we walked to restaurants and shops. Even enjoyed the small balcony in the evening. Only suggestion is it needs a good dusting (ceiling fans, window ornamentation, items high up.)

Home base for state parks visit
The loft apartment was very spacious and comfortable. The location was convenient for walking to restaurants, shopping, markets; accessing I&M trail; and driving a few miles to Starved Rock, Matthieson, and Buffalo Rock State Parks.

Enjoyable stay
Enjoyed having LOTS of space for relaxing mornings and evenings while exploring the nearby parks and other attractions. Arrived to find old food in fridge, dirty dishes in dishwasher, and bed sheets felt they were not cleaned from prior stay. Easily resolved all 3 and did not impact our stay.

Good Times in Lasalle

This is a beautiful, modern, clean space with all the amenities and supplies we could need. Lots of room to spread out, with two very large ensuite bedrooms on opposite sides, with a large living and dining area. Only complaint is that the wifi is quite spotty.

Great space in convenient location.
Nice layout for a group of old friends getting together. Could spread out and get social time or time alone if you wanted it. Love the town and the ability to walk to anything. Great hiking at Matthiessen. Only negative was one of the showers ran soooooo hot it was unusable. Called rep to see if they could fix but never heard back.

Great Apartment for family trip to Starved Rock & Matthiessen
We were planning a trip to the area to check out starved rock and Matthiessen, as well as the Lasalle peru area. I was trying to decide between the cabins in or near Starved Rock, where the only restaurant is the Starved Rock lodge, versus this downtown area where we'd have to drive to the parks but have more options to eat. For our family this was better. If you are planning on bringing food and cooking, and spending the bulk of your time hiking then this still would be great it is just a short drive from the parks. I'd definitely stay here again. The apartment is really large, with one bedroom at each end so our kids could go to sleep early in one bedroom, while we were still up. I love that it was decorated with things from the store downstairs, what a cool idea, and very nice decor. Nicely stocked with dishes, towels, bedding. Great location to walk to area restaurants. 2 winners were Uptown Grill and Obees sandwiches. Was surprised however that many restaurants are closed on Sunday.(obviously that has nothing to do with the property though!) We had a couple quick questions at check-in about parking and wifi. The owners were quick to respond and helpful. Easy check-in and check-out process. Overall we were very pleased.

Fantastic
This stay was amazing-we will all stay again. It was beautifully decorated and right in the heat of dining options and bars. I've lived in the area for years and glad to be able to come back and have my family enjoy such a fantastic stay in a building that has been there for many years. The host was very accommodating and responsive.

Spacious and great location
This property is spacious, comfortable, clean and well-located. The only reason it's not 5 stars is the wifi was truly terrible, which is a bit of a problem in today's day and age. But would definitely stay here again as long as I didn't have to do any Zoom meetings.

The unit was very modern and spacious for a family of four. It is a short drive to Starved Rock. But you can walk to the I&M Canal pathway. Phyllis was very courteous and helpful. We actually left our Firestick behind by mistake and she was so kind to mail it back to us free of charge. It was very cc thoughtful.

Wonderful property
This is a beautiful 2 bedroom suite apartment. With a nice balcony where 4 people can sit comfortably. Close to the state parks too. It's in walking distance to several restaurants. The only downside is the city needs alot of love. Several rough looking buildings around. However, the four of us felt safe, and there was absolutely no problems.

This loft is beautiful! Made us feel like we were pampered and living in luxury! The ceilings are so high that you feel small inside! Very clean and Phyllis was very easy to get ahold of and checking went like a breeze!

Family in need of WiFi
Property is every nice and clean. But listing should include information that it is second floor walk up. Also, owner did not explain how to use TV, remote control fan or showers, which is NOT intuitive. WiFi is really bad and did not work well in either unit (neighbor across hall), which is a problem with 2 young adults. If you don’t need Wifi, then unit is fine.

Hello Diane, We are sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. We used the term loft in Historic Building in the description and Now have added on second floor, when Phyllis was showing you around she thought that you were comfortable with all the instructions. We will try to get all the remote instructions in writing and leave them in the loft. We have contacted the internet provider to make sure that it is functioning properly since we pay extra every month for enhanced services. We did come back over after your check in and adjusted the television and internet. Thank you, Thomas

An Enjoyable Stay.
My family of four stayed at this property for two weeks. The place is spacious and comfortable. It's also beautifully and tastefully decorated. The owners were responsive to our requests and needs, and because we were there over Easter, they left a wonderful Easter basket for our girls which was a very kind and thoughtful gesture. Thank you for the kind hospitality.

Perfect Loft & Location
Beautiful, clean, updated, super spacious loft right in downtown LaSalle. It was a perfect spot for us and another couple to visit the area for Eagle Watch Weekend. Phyllis welcomed us when we arrived, showed us around the loft, and let us see the other property across the hall. It was equally amazing! We walked across the street for breakfast both mornings and down the street to dinner. Easy 10 minute drive to Starved Rock State Park. We’ve rented through VRBO before and this property had some extra touches we’ve never encountered before. Large size bath products, Kurig coffee pods, paper plates/napkins for quick snacks, a dining table already set for a meal. Fireplace was super cozy. We look forward to renting again with Thomas & Phyllis. 😀

This is always our go to place to stay when lifelong friends, all of us from this town, get together for reunions. The place is so lovely, and offers close proximity to great shops and restaurants. I can't wait for the next visit!

The whole process went very well. The property manager was flexible and accommodating, and the property was very clean and ready for our arrival. We appreciated the comforts of the property after hiking each day at Starved Rock State Park & Matthiessen State Park. Our overall experience was what we expected with the rental.

Great accommodations, great restaurants, great hiking! I realize that television shouldn’t be a staple on vacation, but after a long day of hiking, we really just wanted to stay in our beautiful loft and watch a movie. It would be great if there were more a movie channel or a streaming device.

Unique and lovely rental
The Loft far exceeded our expectations. There is so much space, it was perfect for our girls weekend! Everything is updated and very tastefully/elegantly decorated. The location is perfect with Starved Rock about 10 minutes away and some cute shops and restaurants right in LaSalle. The service was wonderful, very caring and warm. Would definitely stay here again!

Very nice, unique, huge loft space in downtown Lasalle
The place was huge and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The couches in the living room were extremely uncomfortable and if anyone intended to sleep on them (they fold down like futons) I’d feel sorry for that person. The two bedrooms had king beds and are very far apart from each other which would be perfect for a few couples or older kids in a family but was a little challenging for small kids. The posting makes it seem like the place could sleep more people but at least in my opinion it sleeps 4 between the 2 king beds and that’s it in reality. We found ourselves wanting there to be instruction cards on the wall next to basically everything in the house. Tons of light switches that didn’t seem to do anything, tricky to get TV, internet, ceiling fans and lights, shower, etc to work as expected. Kind of nothing intuitive in the place so the learning curve was high. The people running this were great and made sure to connect with us before and meet us at the property to show us in so that all worked out great. I’d definitely go back to stay again.

Great place to stay near Starved Rock!
Even though this apartment is only 2 bedrooms it is extremely spacious. It is well appointed yes and located in a cute downtown area. LaSalle has plenty of restaurants and shops. It is also close to starved rock and the other parks.

INCREDIBLE loft. GREAT town.
Tons of space for us. We wish we had brought another couple. Two bedrooms separated by living area and kitchen. The photos DO NOT do this place justice. Within a block there is a very nice breakfast place and some lovely shops. Park is 20 minutes away as are some of the larger towns. We enjoyed being able to stay in the sleepier town and enjoy the quiet but still be a short drive from the activity. The main restaurant in town is not what you'd expect. Far nicer than it would seem. Last night there they even had a two piece folk group in to entertain while we ate. We will be back. Some reviews mention issues with the tub, fireplace etc. Seems like small things that just need quick fixes. Loft itself is beautiful decorated and sparkling clean.

Beautiful property with tons of character and all the amenities
What a wonderful find! Fantastic loft with spacious bedrooms and baths. Unique decor and everything we needed in the fully stocked kitchen, lots of extra towels and linens and all the comforts of home. The loft is conveniently located in town where we could walk to breakfast, explore the shops and enjoy dinner at Social Kitchen or Uptown Grill. Close to the highways and parks. We loved our stay!

Great Loft Space
Hard to really understand that space from the listing. There are two units, and the one that we stayed in I think isn't the one that was in the pictures, but it was bigger than we thought it would be. There were two 'master suites' with king beds and en suite bathrooms that also had access from the main living space. These two rooms also had enormous closets that each had a small bed that is probably best suited for children but could also accommodate an adult. Additionally, there was a smaller bedroom that had a bunk bed with a full bed on the bottom and a twin bed on top. I also believe that a couch in the living room had a sofa bed in it. The two king beds were very comfortable and the other beds not quite as much but still decent. Unfortunately, the WiFi that was advertised was not working for us. When we checked in, we were given a couple of passwords to try, and one seemed to be the correct one, but it could not establish an IP address. Nobody seemed to make any effort to fix this while we were there. The space is very pretty and comfortable. Lots of light switches that were sometimes confusing to find one that did what you wanted. Within walking distance of restaurants, and we were even given a coupon for a free appetizer at one a couple of blocks away that we tried and enjoyed. There are lots of cute stores in the area, but the hours are pretty limited - some that we checked the hours on closed at 6 on weekdays, were only open from 10-4 on Saturday, and not open at all on Sunday. Just a short drive from lots of good places to hike. We went to Starved Rock - tip if you have two cars available: we parked one car at the far end of the trails and then drove the other car back to the visitor center to start our hike there. There are LOTS of stairs on the trails, so be ready to do lots of climbing! If you have a larger group staying in this loft, be sure that there are enough dishes for your meal. Also, the dining table may not accommodate a larger group. There are some stools at the counter and some tables on an outdoor patio, but if you are looking to have a group meal, it may be difficult for a group larger than about 6. Overall, I would recommend this unit. Hosts were prompt with responding to e-mails during booking and were friendly.

Absolutely stunning!
I am from the town in which this apartment is located. I absolutely loved staying here. I was with former high school classmates, for a girls' weekend and class get together. The apartment was so spacious and so well appointed. It was like staying in something out of a magazine. The kitchen was stocked with cooking supplies. The bedrooms and closets were spacious. The entire apartment was so comfortable. I will definitely stay here again! The hosts were great, too!
