From the moment you step through the front door of Heersema House, you’ll know you’ve found a true escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Thoughtfully designed by the current owners, this charming home offers comfort, character, and a sense of calm that makes it easy to slow down and settle in.

Unwind in the cozy living room with a fireplace or spend your mornings and evenings on the beautiful wrap-around screened porch—perfect for reading, relaxing, and enjoying the quiet surroundings. A well-stocked selection of reading materials is provided so you can truly unplug.

Located on Big Bay Road at Sunset Bay, the home is ideally situated. Enjoy views of Lake Superior just across the road, take a quick bike ride to Town Park, or cruise easily into town. After a day of exploring, rinse off in the outdoor shower on the side deck—a refreshing way to start or end your day.

Sleeping & Bathing Arrangements

Three bedrooms on the second floor:

One king bedroom
One bedroom with two twin beds
One bedroom with a trundle bed (guests must bring their own bedding if using the trundle)
One full-size bed on the first floor
Two bathrooms:

First-floor bath with a charming clawfoot tub
Second-floor bath with a shower

Items that you will need to bring:

Beverages
Condiments (including salt & pepper, ketchup, mustard, oils etc. - WI Department of Health & Human Services requires all condiments must be removed after each rental)
Additional towels for going to the beach (bath towels provided are for use inside the property not to be taken outside or to the beach)
