Fantastic

Super comfortable for my family of 5. It’s next door to the Grand Hyatt so convenient for a conference or to enjoy the pool area there as a guest. The beach is a short walk away with great sunsets and perfect waves for boogie boarding. We had such a fantastic time!

Wonderful rental for family

The rental was a perfect fit for our family. Easy access to a pool, walking distance to perfect snorkeling beach where we saw a monk seal, turtles, a variety of fish and dolphins further out. The home was spacious, clean and well equipped for our family needs. We loved the little secluded patio and hope to return to the same house as a family tradition moving forward.

Amazing home in an amazing spot

We absolutely LOVED this home. It was spotless- I think the cleanest and most welcoming rental we have stayed in ever. The energy and feeling of the house is pure aloha- so warm and happy and gorgeous. It was very well stocked with toys, puzzles, games, tons of beach toys, snorkel masks, towels, and even sunscreen and a nice straw sun hat that I borrowed. We would love to stay here again. The view was incredible, we loved watching the birds and people walking by, the view of the mountains is fabulous and it’s a short walk to poipu and shipwreck beach- all along a lovely and safe path which our 3 year old loved. Thank you so much for keeping this home so nice and awesome. We would love to stay here again in the future. Aloha

Wonderful Week Stay at Shells of Poipu in July

Our family of 3 and our daughters best friend enjoyed a week long stay at Shells of Poipu. The property was roomy, clean, and having 2 bedrooms on one side of the house with the master bedroom on the other gave us all privacy. Huge windows made it lovely to look out at the green belt and all the beautiful plants and trees. We enjoyed meeting the neighbors in the evenings around sunset. My favorite part was the 1 minute walk to the Grand Hyatt where I watched every sunrise and moonrise. We were also treated on our last day to the beginning of the historic waves the island hadn"t seen since mid to late 90"s. Stunningly beautiful place to visit.

Beautiful property. Quiet setting with 2 wonderful beaches within short walking distance. Clean, spacious, and comfortable property. Plenty of beach toys for variety of activities. Very hospitable management team.

Location, Location, Location

The Shells at Poipu is a nice little house just a few minutes walk from the Hyatt and Shipwreck Beach. Outside the front door, you can still hear the waves crashing on the shore a few hundred yards away. The house is certainly adequate, but nothing lush. One room w/ a queen bed is very small, but the house worked well with our five adults. The air conditioning did it's job, as did everything else in the house. It came with ample beach stuff (chairs, umbrella, towels, etc.). Didn't use the pool, which looked nice, but was a five minute walk. We were extremely impressed with the management company as they were very understanding and helpful after someone in our party was injured in a biking accident and was laid up using crutches...much appreciated!

Lovely home

The grounds are absolutely beautiful! Great location. House was clean and appealing. The only thing I would suggest is to have luggage racks so the suit cases don't have to sit on the floor. Some minor updating is needed. Overall we would definitely stay there again. Property management was wonderful!!

Amazing property close to all the beaches in Poipu

Very good property close to all the beaches in Poipu, walkable to Hyatt and hiking trails, Brennekes and Poipu beach and restaurants. On the walking trail to the Hyatt. Wonderful neighbors too! Will definitely come back here.

Great house in perfect location.

We had a great 5 night stay here. The house is very comfortable with central A/C and close to everything in Poipu. 15 minute walk to Poipu Beach and Brennache’s beach. brennache’s was great for boogie boarding g (plenty of boogie boards at this house). Poipu is great for children snd families. The house is just as advertised. The kitchen is well stocked. You will need ground coffee for the coffee maker. The only tiny thing is the hot water in the hall bathroom isn’t hot but it is fine in the master. Very quiet here and beautiful.

Good for family vacation

I stayed here with my husband and 2 girls (ages 9 and 5) and my in-laws. Plenty of room for everyone. Due to Covid, we had to drive to the property management office to pick up keys.. no personal welcome- wasn’t the end of the world. Property was easy to find. When we arrived in the early afternoon all the windows were open and the house was quite warm. We closed everything and turned the air on. At first we weren’t sure if it was working and I had to walk outside to see if the unit was running-it was. It took about 20ish minutes to cool the house. In the early morning the trade winds are cooler and was lovely to have the windows open. There are absolutely no cooking staples- just salt, pepper, sugar and there was about 1/4 cup of oil. We have been to other rentals that spice cabinets and basics are more well stocked. So my husband drove back to Lihue to do a Costco run. The kitchen was decently stocked with cooking equipment. The green belt is right outside the door with walking paths. The Hyatt and beach is about a five minute walk which was nice! We had wished the Hyatt was allowing non guests to purchase day passes to use their pool, but due to Covid they were not. The pool associated with this VRBO was not close. It was a 10-15 minute walk and when we went to check it out the first day it was small and crowded so we never used it… Also it seems as though we walked by 4 other pools on the way there. Not sure why the pool associated with this property is so far. The garage was well stocked with beach equipment- sand toys, chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, coolers, etc.. We appreciated the closet FULL of toys for my girls and books galore for all ages and interests throughout the entire house! There are two full baths one in the master bedroom and one between the two bedrooms. A word of warning- both bathrooms have very deep jacuzzi tubs and could be dangerous for older and younger folks to get in and out of. We enjoyed having a private yard to sit and relax in- the neighbors were very kind and friendly! I appreciated the tub in the laundry area full of leftover sunscreen etc from previous visitors! Came in handy! All in all we enjoyed our time here and would come back! Thank you for opening your home to us for a very restful week!

Spacious Vacation Home

We enjoyed our stay at this home in Poipu, with space for our family of 5 to spread out and relax. We enjoyed being able to take walks to restaurants/coffee/scenic beaches. The pool unfortunately was not close and was quite crowded so we didn’t make much use of it. The house was clean and well organized and equipped. It’s a slightly older property but well maintained. Picking up and dropping off keys from a rental office near the airport was not the most convenient but not a big deal.

Beautiful house and perfect location. Short walk on a green belt to good body boarding and body surfing beaches. Great jogging path in both directions from house. Boogie boards, wagon and beach chairs in garage.

Fantastic place to stay, kid-friendly

We feel lucky to have found this place on VRBO as it made our stay quite enjoyable. We were visiting for a conference at Grand Hyatt but wanted to stay at a house given we have 3 little ones. This place is walking distance to Grand Hyatt - a leisurely (slow) 10min walk with toddlers. It is in a residential area, so the closest restaurants/coffee shops are at the Hyatt. The pathway that takes us to Grand Hyatt/beach is right behind the yard (no car traffic) and we see plenty of people taking a stroll throughout the day. Neighborhood is quiet, safe and the neighbors friendly. My 2yo daughter wandered off one day and made it two houses down before she was noticed by concerned pedestrians who stayed with her and notified me. Other restaurants/shops are a short 7min drive away. Many areas of interest are also close by. We drove to the Baby Beach and spent half a day there. We also got a resort pass for the Grand Hyatt (they have amazing pools) and spent a fun day. Grocery chains (Walmart, Safeway, Costco) are about 20-25min out, close to the airport. Inside the house, the appliances are great, AC works well, showers are nice. There is a good collection of books and board games. What I appreciated the most were the booster chairs that made our lives so much easier. Inside the garage were other things you wish you had but couldn't bring with you, like a red wagon to haul everything to the beach in, inflatable tube, folding chairs, etc. Plenty of towels/beach towels, clean sheets. Really appreciate the attention to detail and the amenities.

Awesome home

This home was just right for us and 4 kids. Walking distance to shipwreck Beach and a 5 mins drive to restaurants in Poipu. What’s most impressive are the little things the house comes with— A trolley to carry snorkel gear, body boards, a surf broad, beach chairs, frisbe etc ..

Amazing house, awesome location

We loved our stay! Great location in between two beaches, perfect house for 4 of us (though probably sleeps ~8 if you squeeze). Nice pool too. Property manager was a bit challenging to reach, but we ended up figuring everything out. Highly recommended overall.
