Relax on a quiet street in this three bedroom Outer Banks rental. Located in the Seacrest community of Southern Shores, Eagle's Nest is a comfortable and inviting home with an open living space and vaulted ceilings. This OBX vacation rental is close to Duck and Kitty Hawk attractions.

Living/dining/kitchen area with CATV and DVD player, 1 bedroom (with Twins, CATV), bath (tub and shower).

2 bedrooms (1 with Queen, 1 with Twins) each with CATV, bath (with tub and shower).

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The property is very nice and we enjoyed it. The queen bed frame in the upper bedroom was broken - just mentioning to be sure someone get it repaired - it did not impact our stay. The only thing overly cumbersome is the rental contract. Way more cumbersome than it needs to be. I'd suggest reviewing other contracts for similar kinds of rentals; I've never seen one that long, with more signature spaces, and more legalese than this one. With that as my only "problem" - you should be able to tell the overall experience was good. I show the communication with the property manager as a "3" as there was none, other than a couple of emails, which were fine. I'd have chosen N/A had it been available.
