Welcome! Relax and enjoy your vacation at “The Ideal Place” on the Outer Banks! With stunning ocean views from the kitchen and outside deck, this beach cottage is perfect for a family vacation, romantic getaway or a golf trip with friends. The home’s private beach access gets your toes in the sand and riding the waves in no time. (Only 100 yards to the beach) The Ideal Place is well-stocked, with comfortable furnishings and a relaxing atmosphere. The cottage has been completely painted inside and out. The kitchen is brand new with all the amenities, including a water filtration system (ROS).

The Ideal Place is situated on a quiet street in desirable Kitty Hawk, close to wonderful restaurants, terrific shopping and unforgettable sight-seeing. This beach cottage has the amenities to make your vacation enjoyable and stress-free: Flat Screen Cable TV’s, DVD players, radio/CD player, BBQ grill, comfortable deck furniture, wireless internet, games, reading and video libraries, sand toys and beach chairs. And save space in your suitcase ~ bath towels and bed linens are provided. Come experience Kitty Hawk’s long pristine beaches and sparkling blue waters for yourself. It will be a memorable trip that you will want to experience year after year!

Accommodations: Cottage, Three Bedroom (2 Queen, pyramid bunk with one Queen and one Twin), 2 Baths. Sleeps 6. This is a Saturday to Saturday rental.

  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. perfect location. yes there is a house next door that looks like they never finished it but the rest of the neighborhood is just fine. the house setup worked great for our mom/son trip and the house had everything we needed for meals at home. would definitely stay there again with a small group.

Amazing summer vacation

We enjoyed the house very much. Kitchen is SUPER WELL stocked- they have everything you could think of. We enjoyed a short walk to the beach and watching fireworks on the beach on 4th of July was amazing! Shower outside helped a lot of sand control, we just took quick showers there after beach and rinsed our swimsuits as well. Kids appreciated sand toys provided and board games. Thank you!

Vacation Stay

Have no real complaints about the property. Great location, clean, good view of ocean. The couch could be changed to a better cushioned one, and the neighbors house next door was a sore eye even though that is out of your control. All around it was still a great house and would rent again.

Cute cottage, close to beach

Nice location, easy walk to the beach via a path from the back of the house and crossing the beach road. Shoes are a must when walking to the beach, as the sand spurs are no joke. We left all shoes at the door so as not to track them inside. Kitchen was really well stocked with anything you would need for cooking. Cleanliness was ok, although dusty. Back porch was partly covered which made a nice area to relax in the evening and on a rainy day.

First OBX vacation

We had a great time. This is a great location with a short walk through the path in the back yard to the ocean. You need to watch the little briars in the yard/path. The living room furniture needs updated. You can’t control your neighbors but the house next door is very run down. We enjoyed our first OBX family vacation and it won’t be our last!

Celebrating Life

We’ve had a difficult few years and the beach is our happy place. We loved the convenience to the beach and it was beautiful every day. First time staying this far up, usually Hatteras. This house was convenient to everything. We found peace and joy.

Kitty Hawk 2021

simple 3 bedroom beach house, basic amenities, all you need. Nice covered porch, close to the beach. Needs a good cleaning between guests and a deep clean at least once a month. Other than that the place was perfect for a small family. Would suggest a small gas grill instead of charcoal grill, time for new bedding and towels. We always bring our own so we were ok. Kitchen had all you need, and a Keurig. Washer and dryer was perfect. Thank you, Carol

Great beach stay!

The cottage was great for our little family! The less than 2 minute walk to the beach was very convenient! The kitchen had everything we needed and the deck was a nice place to enjoy some meals with a little view of the beach!

Definitely Ideal!

Our week at the Ideal Place was great! Everything at the house was as expected and more. The beds were super comfy and the beach was easy to access (although we didn’t see the beach as much as wanted because of rain). There were a lot of other activities nearby including awesome ice cream at Bucks! Wright bros museum was very interesting and the aquarium was a pleasant surprise.
