Private country escape on 130 acres

Our farm is the place to stay for when you want to escape! We have thought of everything so once you arrive, all you need to do is relax and have fun!
Our farmhouse is located on 130 acres. Greeted by sweeping verandahs, our immaculately presented main house farm comprises of 4 bedrooms, master with en-suite and WIR, bedrooms 2, 3 and 4 all with BIRs. Family bathroom and laundry, large open plan kitchen and meals area with solid wood fire, adjacent to the sunlit formal lounge and dining. The whole house has ducted heating and refrigerated cooling throughout.

Private unit attached to the house is also available to guests if you would like to accomodate for 9 or more guests or provide a seperate zone for part of your guests. The unit comprises of one bedroom with open plan kitchen/living area and bathroom incorporated into the bedroom. The unit has heating and cooling available. To include the unit in booking, you will need to book for 10 guests so the price of $150 extra per night is incorporated (the unit will not be accessible during your stay otherwise). Please advise if 10 guests will not be staying during your stay and you have only made booking of 10 to have access to both houses.

Part of the beauty of being at our farm is having 130 acres to yourself! Enjoy a swim in the pool, light up the fireplace, observe the livestock. The list is never ending, there is so much on offer here!

Enjoy the best of both worlds! Boasting panoramic views and only a short drive from Kilmore's main Street (Sydney Street), our farm offers the finest in convenient rural living.

Kilmore is located approximately within a 10 minute appro drive from the property. Sydney street provides many retail shops, grocery shops, dining and entertainment.

Kilmore is home to the famous Kilmore racecourse and scenic golf course. Be sure to visit any or both if you have the time.

If attractions is your thing, Victoria's oldest inland town, Kilmore features a collection of historic buildings and entertainment for you to view and enjoy. These include;

Some notes regarding the farm:

We have a very strict no party policy. Breaking of the rule will result in immediate termination of booking with no refund provided for remaining stay.
The pool is not heated.
We provide a charcoal barbecue for use but ask guests to bring along own charcoal if they would like to use the Webber. Gas bbq is also available.
The mainhouse has ducted heating and refrigerated cooling throughout.
There is good coverage of mobile reception and NBN wifi connection is available for use.
Smart TV is available.
A barrel of wood is supplied for check-in at no cost. Top up fees do apply if more wood is required.
Only smaller pets and selective type of pets/breeds are allowed to the farm. We do not have an outdoor gated off section for dogs and all dogs must be on a leash when outdoors to protect our livestock. Please discuss any pets you have that you would like to bring along prior to booking to check if we would allow your pet to stay. It is the responsibility of pet owners to clean up after own pets.

A rural escape close to the city

3 families stayed here for a long weekend. The weather was great for swimming in the pool (waist deep and unheated but warm enough), there were ample kitchen and glassware, comfy beds and the highlight was the fire pit which we used nightly. The playground was a bit tired, and you have to bring bottled water beyond 10L provided, but the house was still brilliant for kids and adults, and weā€™d happily stay again.

Peaceful beautiful location

We had a great time at Poloma Farm. The house is spacious and comfortable with attractive decor. The beds were were super comfy and we enjoyed relaxing in the pool while looking at the hills. The views from the top of the property were a highlight. Next time we need a week!

Amazing relaxing stay in stunning surrounds!

We had a fantastic winter weekend stay with friends at this property. The kids loved the farm animals & the space to run around! The views were just beautiful & made for a very relaxing weekend by the outside fire. We didnā€™t venture far at all which was perfect. The house is warm & cosy with everything you need for an easy stay. Weā€™ll be back!

Great family stay

The property has everything you could need for a family group. We had 8 adults and 3 small children and we enjoyed everything that was offered. The place could do with a could clean. The furniture in main room is fabric and needs thorough cleaning. There is only 6 chairs for a place catering for 10. One of the queen beds was terribly hard and couldnā€™t be slept on but the other beds were good. Overall the property has fantastic views, animals the little ones loved and everything you could need.

Outstanding holiday

As a great getaway, we are always on the lookout for somewhere that is great for out 3 and 4 year old to explore outdoors with nature and animals. We have had the most amazing time on this farm. We became so attached to their pets that it was sad to leave. The views were just so breathtaking. Polen was very attentative to our enquiries at all times and deffinately a great host. One of the best holidays we have been on. You have to head down there.

A Pleasant Getaway!

A great location and easy drive from Melbourne for a short stay. The house is very comfortable, spacious (even with 9 adults and 6 toddlers/ infants!) and has all the amenities. The kids loved feeding the animals and Rosie the horse was the standout favourite. Polen was very obliging and nothing was too much trouble - and always responded to our queries promptly. Would definitely recommend this property.

Beautiful property but needs more attention to detail

First and most importantly, we had a really great time at the property. There is so much to explore and I could never get sick of the views. We so appreciated the freedom the owner gave us - we brought mini bikes and model airplanes and had a great time in the pool. Polen the host left us well alone but quick to respond to questions and messages. The incredible view in every direction, sitting around the fire pit and watching the stars, as well as feeding carrots to the animals, were the big highlights. HOWEVER, while the house is nice enough, more attention to detail should be paid for the price you pay to rent it. Paint on the walls and roofs looks very messy and rushed, scratches on the dining room table, paint coming off the floors, stains on the couch and dining chairs, tapware that comes off in your hands, a broken shower, unfinished surfaces, and a broken toaster were just some of the issues. I could still live with all this, and probably would not have even written this review, if it hadnā€™t been for the fact that the host provides very little necessities to make a stay comfortable. No tablecloths or placemats to eat on, no oil to cook with, no platters or even large plates to put some fruit on, no extra blankets or towels, the bare minimum amount of kitchen cleaning spray, 7 forks, no tissues, no hooks for towels etc etc etc. I am not expecting a free breakfast basket or something lavish, but you stay away at a house and at least expect there to be some of these useful things like oil! While the property is a great place to stay, and we would love to return, it takes some of the fun out of it if you to have to bring every single tiny little thing. We had to run to Coles multiple times. Please give the house a little TLC and provide some basic comforts for your guests because it really is an incredibly property! Thank you.

Peaceful haven dream family holiday

My family and I can not speak more highly of this beautiful home or the lovely owners. My family of 7 were blessed enough to spend a week soaking up the fresh air and summer sun. Fun for all ages as our kids range from 2-16. We barely left the pool other than to feed the beautiful friendly animals or to bbq and make a bombfire. Memories to last a life time. We could not be more happy and Polan met every extra request without hesitation. Will definitely be going back asap.

Peace and quiet with magnificent views

Great house very close to Kilmore shops, but in an absolutely wonderful rural setting. Great views. The house itself would be greatly improved by the addition of simple things like towel hooks or rails in bathrooms, bedside tables and lights on both sides of beds, first-aid kit, and general kitchen items such as aluminium foil, table place mats, even a teapot would be a good thing to find. But overall, a good spot for a family get-together.

Wonderful! We would love to make this our yearly getaway.

Thank you so much! We had the most wonderful stay at the Farmhouse. We combined two families. One with two adults and two children and one with two adults and one child. The farmhouse had more than enough room for us to holiday together very comfortably. We stayed for a long weekend and didnā€™t need to leave the property once (except for the mums who went into town for some mum time). There was endless fun for the kids and adults with hiking and exploring the property, feeding the animals, building a campfire and toasting marshmallows, playing on the outdoor equipment, watching the kangaroos, dance parties, watching the hilarious goat, and television when everyone was exhausted from all the activities. The farmhouse was toasty warm with separate heating for the living areas and bedrooms, as well as a beautiful wood fire in the lounge room to sit by in the evenings when the kids were in bed. Not only was the house and farm excellent but the owners were very responsive to our needs. We would very much love to make this a yearly holiday.

Absolutely fabulous farm house!! So much to do and see. The house is spotless and location perfect!

We had an absolutely amazing time at the farm. We had 4 kids with us ranging from 4 to 11 and we didnā€™t have to leave the property for the 4 days we stayed. The animals are a delight and the house itself is stunning!! There was not 1 thing that we wished they had, they had EVERYTHING!! We did 4 wheel driving, hiking, days at the pool, lit a bonfire, fed the animals, played at the playground!! I will definitely go back to the farm, Polen was amazing to deal with, instant replyā€™s for anything. We came home weā€™ll rested from our stay

fantastic stay

We had a great week at this lovely place, after lockdown in melbourne for 2020 having 130 acres of peace and quiet was just what we needed. The animals were adoreable and friendly, and we enjoyed feeding them especially the goat. We had friends over for the weekend and its an ideal place to have a gathering and sing song around the camp fire. The house is big but cosy, and the fireplace was ideal for relaxing during the colder days. We hope to get back again soon. Rory and Bal

Relaxation plus!

What a relaxing time we had at this farm. Beautiful views and wildlife were aplenty. The kids had a fantastic time playing in the pool and feeding the friendly animals. I would highly recommend this country stay.
