Drop the hook at this beautiful freshly remodeled canalfront home. Located on the peaceful waters of Colington Harbour, this home is ready for your boat, jet ski, Stand-up paddle board or kayak adventure. The community boat launch ramp (fee) is available nearby for a quick launch.

At the front of the home you will be welcomed with ample parking and a 2 car garage for all your storage needs (two beach chair and one beach umbrella provide for guest use). Entering the home on the ground floor, you will enjoy the Rec room with Pool table; a great retreat area for the kids and adults. A back door will take to the back lush yard where you will find a furnished patio, Enclosed outside shower, Gas grill and Private dock.

From the dock you and your family can fish, crab or start a boating, kayak /Standup Paddle adventure down the scenic canal, winding its way through the waters of Colington out into the Albemarle Sound on an adventure that is sure to be one of the highlights of your vacation!

On the outside of the 2nd floor you find the open air screen canalfront deck with extraordinary views of water, wetlands, & wildlife. Watch the activity of the canal while enjoying morning coffee or an evening glass of wine on this delightful furnished deck. Inside a comfortable well-furnished living area awaits you with two futons, large screen TV that opens to the fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar that can serve seafood and steaks at the water view dining area.

The 2nd level also has three bedrooms: 1st master suite with a King bed and HDTV, 2nd Queen bedroom and 3rd Double and twin bedroom. A full hall bathroom is also available.

Getting to the beach is easy and only a short 10-minute drive to a beach access with Parking, bathhouse and guarded beach in season, located at the end of E. Ocean Bay Blvd. You will find Numerous restaurants, grocery stores, & shopping centers close by.

Spectacular community amenities including: a huge sound side park with sandy beaches, a playground, and sheltered picnic areas, a basketball court, as well as a boat launch and boat slips for rent. Also the Yacht and Racket Club, which allows use of the two outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, and community clubhouse.

It is a beautiful piece of property, nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the main thoroughfare, running through the Outer Banks, but close enough to get back to when you need to.We elected to bring our own sheets and towels, but I was surprised that I could not find any oven mitts in the kitchen.The view from the back screened in porch is beautiful and peaceful, but the screen and the porch itself are in need of repair.

Wonderful time with our friends and dogs.

We had a great stay and the house suited us very well. We were a group of 2 couples and our small dogs, so the house and yard were the perfect size. My only remarks are that I think some of the listing photos could stand to be updated as the interior has changed a bit. Also, the fence has some gaps that a small dog (under 15lbs) might be able to squeeze through if left unattended. We kept a watchful eye on ours and didn't have any problems. Otherwise, there was nothing that negatively affected our stay. Thanks so much!

Good Vacation

We were unable to stay at the property we booked, but Carolina Shores seamlessly put us in another property that was a little bigger and much closer to the beach. They were great to work with every step of the way!

Enjoyed Our Week Here

There was plenty of room inside and out. The deck on the water was nice and we did some fishing (caught a few fish). The area is quiet with very little traffic. There are plenty of outdoor chairs and a few small tables available. The backyard is fenced, so it's great for kids or a dog. It is about 10 minutes off the main road which will have you driving in and out a few times, so factor that in. Where you come out at the main road, you are pretty much in the middle of everything, so that was convenient. The kitchen had everything except dish towels. There was a Keurig and a drip coffee machine with filters. Paper towels and dish detergent was supplied. The house was clean and everything was in order. It's the outer banks, so expect to find roaches outside and maybe one or two inside. The internet was fast and mostly reliable. Communication with the property management, was very good. They made sure everything was taken care of and responding quickly when I had a question. The paperwork they included with the check-in explained a lot of important details and made for a comfortable stay. I would suggest some better outdoor lighting. The lights over the garage did not work. There were no lights on the side walkway and the back patio lights were not bright. We used our phone lights to walk from driveway to the back main entrance at night. Overall, we were happy with our stay and the property management did a great job of taking care of us.

For the money, Great place.

For the money, this is a great place. Neigherhood pool / park. Private dock. Great water view. Pool table etc. Kitchen was fantastic. Beds were old and uncomfortable. Couches were futons. Neighborhood was safe but not fancy. Nice, new appliances. Did have several snakes on the lawn but that might be the norm for the area. Close to restaurants and grocery stores. Garage was roomy and had plenty of outdoor supplies. Screened back porch had an amazing water view.

Nice area to stay in. Neighbors are nice on both sides. Great fenced in area for my dog. The outside needed some maintenance and a little bit of cleaning. Even just trimming the shrubs back a bit would have been great. The screened in porch was also a little dirty/dusty and had cobwebs. Easy cleanup for myself to do. Kitchen well stocked, nice open floor plan.

We had a very nice time here. Loved the porch, dock, pool table and ping pong table when we weren’t fishing or at the beach. Everyone could spread out or meet in great room or rec room downstairs. Highly recommend and we may stay again next year! Thanks for letting us stay!

Family fun

We stayed here with a 10 and 6 year old. It’s a quiet neighborhood where we could ride our bikes safely and enjoy the peace and quiet on the porch looking out over the water. It’s not far from the main area where the kids had fun playing mini golf and riding the go karts! We loved having a pool table and ping pong table right at the house to entertain them as well!

We paid for early check in. We were told it was not ready yet despite being 1pm. We were able to go in anyway since we paid for it. Wasn’t too bad, but the floors were not very clean. Like a lot of other reviews the outside was a bit “dirty”, but nothing that a broom couldn’t fix. It was a little different having to make your own bed, (linens were in a container in bags) but I didn’t mind. I liked knowing they were actually cleaned. We really enjoyed the house. We LOVED the screened in porch. It made the stay way more enjoyable knowing you weren’t going to get eaten alive by bugs outside. We also loved crabbing off the dock! We had great success crabbing. The beds were comfortable and it was nice having two bathrooms. We would definitely rent this house again. Colington Harbour is a great place to stay. Especially if you have kids. This was our second time staying in Colington Harbour. The sound beach is great along with the pool! I would recommend this place to anyone.

Needs outside maintenance... hosted a squirrel night club

All in all, the stay was great. It would have been a highly rated stay, but was marred by 2 events: A water leak, and very active squirrel family. The house INSIDE was great: The central air control is more than a bit outdated ( you have to remove the cover to turn it on, then set the desired temperature). The rooms are comfy, the enclosed porch is nice, with a great view. The garage is great ( unfortunately, the control to open is --- necessarily and understandably-- inside. No remote, obviously, because guests would forget and take it with them).... everything needed for a great stay is THERE: Family supersize Scrabble, Pool and Tennis Table, fishing and crabbing gear, rafts, additional tye-down for the dog, touch screen Keurig, all great touches!!! Sooo.... why so bad? Well, let's begin with day 1: we arrived and during the unloading, my wife noticed a small hole in the crawlspace above the garage to the left. Peering out were 2 beady eyes of a grey squirrell. This little guy buried in and invited a friend. He was WELL camped BEHIND THE WALL OF THE BED IN THE MASTER BEDROOM, making scratching and wall-gnawing sounds all night long.... every night... for the entire week.. We arrived on Saturday. we called first thing Sunday morning to report, and were told someone would be out that day. No call, No text, no show. I stopped by the office the next day, figuring an in-person visit would matter..ALSO at that time, our internet suddenly had gone out, which I also reported. I was told someone from pest control would be in early afternoon , and I'd received a call about the internet. yet again, No call, No text, no show. I spent an hour in the afternoon tracing and rebooting the router myself, then reconnecting and resetting the internet. Pest control showed the next day Wednesday, 3rd day since the report. Did I mention the busted pipe that caused a leak between the 2 properties? We came back in the afternoon to water service off.... without warning. If not for these, we'd defintely consider another booking there.

The property was ideal. Fenced in yard for dogs and wonderful screened in porch. Comfortable and spacious. Carolina Shores and Vrbo could take some lessons. regarding materials included and how to be welcoming. Service charges for Vrbo are very high..

Wonderful vacation location

First time to OBX and this property did not disappoint! Beautiful view of the sound - we spent most of our time in the screened in porch or on the dock. The ping pong and pool tables were a bonus. Great updated interiors - we would recommend this place to anyone!

Everything was good! Only complaint is all the cobwebs & dust outside. Just needs a good outside clean every so often. We took care of the main areas we would be sitting.....still didn’t stop us from having a good time. People were friendly in the neighborhood. Very peaceful.

Best Vacation Ever

Exactly as described on website. I did tell the rental company at checkout that I felt more detail was needed during the cleaning between guests. The shower curtains were ripped and the previous occupants bath poofs were left in the shower and light bulbs were either burned out or completely mssing.

Beautiful property on the sound

We had a great time enjoying the dock, sound and beach! The property could use a good deep clean but the layout was nice for our small group and we loved the outdoor space! We used the dock every day to swim with our tubes, launch our canoes and enjoy our afternoon cocktail! The beds were good!
