We loved the accomodations, the pool was great! Having close access to the beach was incredible!

We had a wonderful stay, even though we dealt with hurricane Debbie, we went to the beach and pool everyday. We also got to visit the aquarium on a rainy day and we also spent a day in Duck NC which was fun and new! I highly recommend Renee's Dollhouse. In addition

Great House!

This is a great little condo with lots of room. We had 5 people and had plenty of room! Very clean house and was even stocked with minimal items to get your week started. Very close to a nice pool and a straight shot to the beach where we could always find beach access. No issues at all. Would definitely stay again!

Great location for family vacay in Outer Banks

Great location near Wright Bros memorial! Plenty of room with 4 floors of comfy living space. We enjoyed the family games. Kitchen was well-equipped for cooking for family. Stove top had some dried noodles and crumbs hence the 4/5 but I always travel w/ Clorox wipes. Bathrooms were very clean and beds were comfy. Enjoyed morning coffee on the balcony. Must be able to do stairs. Husband said he would stay here again. It was a comfortable stay.

Some surprises, good and bad

We were happy to find this townhouse at the last minute. It is possible to walk to the beach, but not with young kids or a lot of gear. Luckily we were always able to park at the public lot for the beach right down the street. The beach there is guarded (at least in season) which is a plus. There is plenty of space for a group that wants to spread out. My 3 teens would sometimes each be on their own floor! Finding room for 6 people to hang out together is more challenging - tiny living room and only 4 chairs in the dining area. The loft is unbearably hot, but my 15 yo stayed up there anyway for the space and privacy! It appears that the sofas on the 2 lower levels both pull out, but there were no queen sheets available. Sleeping on the lower level would have been more comfortable. We appreciated the keyless entry and garage for storage. In our first 24 hours at this property we dealt with a tub that wouldn't drain, a non-working bedroom ceiling fan, a living room chair that collapsed while I was sitting in it and a non-working dishwasher. We like to cook so not having a working dishwasher is a deal-breaker for me on vacation! The owner responded to being notified of these issues, but none were addressed while we were there. Overall the furnishings were adequate but some cases cheap or tired. Hand towels, more dish towels, and better pillows are needed. Although the pool area is best for kids 8 and under, we did enjoy using it a couple times. You can't see it well in the photos but there is a small "regular" part of the pool that is 3-4 feet deep or so. The lazy river was not working. (Does it ever?) There is some good shade available. There is also a volleyball net, corn hole and a pool table available. I enjoyed sitting on the balconies in the morning and evening. The view is nothing special, but at least the dumpster area below is well disguised. We did not have any issues with noise.

Great family vacation

The condo was well stocked and clean. It had board games, Wii, beach nearby, pool, and close by to many family friendly activities like mini golf. Condo is in a very quiet community. It was refreshing to have some quiet and relax.

Great location!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this property. It really is a great location (there is great access to the beach just a quick drive away). We LOVED the pool - our kids loved the water slide (great for our 7 and 5 year old). The house has tons of space. Note that the loft does not have a bathroom - need to go into another person's bedroom to get to a bathroom from there (just a small inconvenience if you're planning on using the loft as a bedroom). We also loved that there is a washer and dryer (nice to clean up after a day after the beach!). The biggest problem with this property is that not much is supplied - at all. I have been to so many rentals that have everything you can think of, and that is just not that. They provided one roll of toilet paper per bathroom (we were there for 7 days - definitely not enough), there was a minimal amount of hand soap in each container (we ran out easily), there is laundry but no detergent, there is nothing to clean up with, etc. We kept needing to run out and buy things we needed. While it's not necessary to provide these things, it would have been nice as we have seen it at so many other properties we have rented and it just became annoying to constantly be buying things. I also highly recommend bringing extra towels and hand towels - they provided 6 bath towels and 1 hand towel. Definitely not enough for our 7 day stay! Also, the dishwasher does not work - we ran it a few times and the dishes came out dirtier than when we put them in. It was really gross, and we ended up needing to hand wash all the dishes. We reached out to the owner and nothing was done to fix it. Not a huge deal but an inconvenience since the listing does say there is a dishwasher. We did have an unfortunate run in with a cockroach, but overall the place is clean. They clearly don't wash the comforters, though, which seems very unsanitary to me (the instructions at the end of your stay ask you to leave the comforters on the bed while you pack up all the sheets and towels to be cleaned). Overall, like I said, we really liked the property - mostly for the location and the pool. I think it's a great place for people with young kids.

First time in OBX

This property was in an excellent location. Seemed to be in the middle of everything. Easy access to the beach with public parking. The property is nice and quiet. Has everything you need. The only thing negative would be the microwave and coffee maker need replacing. It looks like they have plans to upgrade as there were several new items in the garage. My husband and I were pleased with the condo. We even got to hear a Navy fighter jet fly over the Wright Brothers Memorial and the condo.

Family Vacation

The property was great for a family. My kids spent everyday at the pool, splash pad, and lazy river. My 8 year old thought the slide there was amazing! The beach is a short drive. You could definitely walk or bike (we did one day) there but it was a little too far/hot for us given the age of our kids. It’s close to restaurants and the Wright Brothers. Although due to Covid, we didn’t venture to too many places other than the pool and the beach. Definitely bring extra towels and hand towels/kitchen towels. It has a brand new microwave. A random repair person showed up to fix a microwave one day when we were there. The property manager communicated to us later that day that the person would be coming after they were there. It was an awkward moment as we are a pretty covid conscious family and the person was unmasked. We ended up staying upstairs for two hours while it was repaired because we didn’t feel comfortable leaving the house as it is only a coded entry and we didn’t know the person was coming in advance. She did apologize for giving us no warning, but given we are paying for a property, I would have expected some type of credit/compensation given the fact that microwave was damaged before our arrival. I imagine this poor communication was a one time situation.

Quiet but close to activities

What we loved about this property is that it is in a residential area right off the activity on the main road. Everything was close but the property was very quiet and comfortable.

Great family place to stay

Our family of 4 just stayed here. We have a 3 year old and a 6 year old. Both had an awesome time at the pool and having the space to play on the decks at the house. The house was clean and organized. Really quick drive to the beach as well. Highly recommend

Loved it!

Great home. The location was fantastic. We spent hours and hours at the pool that was just a few steps from our unit. Spent hours in the lazy river. Beach was also easily accessible with plenty of parking. I felt like we were in the middle of all the action. Would definitely stay here again and I recommend the property.

Quiet Townhouse near the heart of Kill Devil Hills

Nice four-level townhouse. Lots of stairs! We would have preferred the main living room be a little bigger since in the evenings we liked to watch the main tv together, but it worked for our family of four. Lots of thoughtful "extras" in the property like the small shop vac in the garage to clean out the sand from our vehicle, the beach umbrella and chairs, the various sizes of boogie boards, board games in the game room, various kitchen pots, pans, and utensils beyond what I would consider "standard." We made several of our own meals were able to make everything without having to improvise because of not having some pot/pan, dish, utensil, etc. We also planned to use the washer/dryer, and we did so extensively. It was very helpful having it right there in the unit. The property is about a mile to the beach and about 0.8 mile to the main highway. That was far enough away that it seemed like a peaceful retreat from the commercial hustle and bustle of Kill Devil Hills. Yet, the close proximity meant it was very easy to get to activities, the beach, groceries, restaurants, etc. There were a couple of minor issues which I need to contact the owner. Response was quick and issues were addressed appropriately. One of the games provided in the unit was a wii console. However, it seems no games were available. (At least, we didn't find them.) We could have brought our own games to use on the console if we had known about it. (Maybe it was listed and I just missed it . . . . ) Pool in the complex is nice, but not what we thought it would be. It appears to have a lazy river. However, it is really just an oval shaped pool with a smaller oval shaped concrete island in the middle of it to give it the shape of a ring. Then, there are connecting waterways/paths to the other areas of the pool. The zero-entry portion of the pool and nearby splash pad areas were a really nice set of features . . . if we had toddlers. We had older kids, so that portion didn't appeal to us. For a family with toddlers, though, it's a fantastic feature. There is also a water slide. Not bad, but after a few trips down, it wasn't quite as a exciting for our kids. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Even though it was not "on the beach", it was close enough that we never felt far away, we could get there relatively quickly, and access to everything else was very easy. Glad we chose this property for our vacation!

House was great.

We were a little upset that the splash pad ended up being closed for moat of our trip. It was a selling point for us to be there, plus one of the attendents at the splash pads the first day it was open was very rude. Other than that the property was great and the owners were very accommodating.

2020 getaway

The property was Clean and very chic. It is close to the beach and good restaurants. We weren’t far from anywhere we wanted to go. It was perfect for our family getaway to relax, leave the world behind and have fun.

Lovely getaway

This property was perfect for a week long getaway! Owners were very responsive when I asked a couple questions. Clean and well maintained, 10 minute drive from the beach. We hope to come back next year!

Great vacation

The house was very clean upon arrival, and everything was in good condition, which made the listing accurate. For our family this was a great location because it was close enough to the public beach access but away from the hustle and bustle. Further, the pool was a hit for our daughter it has a splash pad and regular pool plus an area roped off for smaller kids that’s only 1.5’ deep. It was always very quiet which was good and plenty of room for my family. I will definitely consider staying here again.
