Shady Nook at The Truman Annex in Key West

This first floor 2 bedroom, 1 bath condo is a blend of Key West charm, modern comfort and unbeatable location!
You'll enjoy bright, breezy interiors, serene outdoor spaces, a communal pool and walkable access to the best of down town. Perfect for a vacation escape. This is a ground level condo. One of the bedrooms has a queen size bed, the other has two twins - both bedrooms are equipped with a flat screen TV.
The unit has free Wi-Fi, cable TV & streaming capabilities, one parking space, a fully equipped kitchen. Beach towels are included! The unit will accommodate up to 4 adults comfortably. The dining table only seats 2, however the patio set is set up with dining for 4 adults.

Exactly as Promised

We had a great time in the Truman Annex. We initially booked a different unit, but was advised that during our stay, the unit was to have repairs done. Compass Staff reached out and gave us several options for relocation. The unit we chose was perfect, the change was seamless and the communications with staff were prompt and professional. They moved us away from the construction area and we were not disturbed. The unit was clean and well maintained and was perfect for our family of two adults and two teenagers. We can't wait to come back!

Spring Break in the Keys

Our family of four loved the location of our unit in Truman Annex! We were able to walk and bike everywhere within minutes. Bedrooms are small and unit needs some updates, especially carpet and bathroom. We loved sitting on back porch to read!

This unit needs to be updated especially the bathroom. Tub is chipped with rust. Shower door is not attached to tub side Sink clogs Bedroom closet doors are not attached at top Bedroom door to patio is rotting and does not close properly Loose floor tile in kitchen. Need new ice trays. Ones there are cracked Need new thermostat

Loved the location!! Within walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do. We like the easy in and out from our condo with being on the first floor was a plus. Overall well stocked kitchen for our needs. Place is dated but clean. Good stay!!

Great spot to stay! Location was perfect.

Only thing that we could request be different is the pick up of the key and the returning of the keys! It definitely adds a bit of a wrench in the plans when you have a little one and a ton of luggage to go back to the office the day of checkout! Other than that the staff was super helpful with anything we needed, early check in, late check out both granted, easy communication, and the location of this one can’t be beat — street access from the back gate!

Great location in the heart of Key West

A nice property within walking distance of many of Key West interesting spots! Nice warm pool. Patio was cozy . While the property managers can’t help it, we were bothered by cigarette smoke from the renters on the upstairs porch.

New Years 2022-23

This is the second time we have stayed in the Shipyard Condos. This one was a great area in the complex. Able to walk out of the gate instead of walking through the complex. We would stay here again.

Exactly as Advertised

This is an incredible location right in the heart of old town Key West and just a stone's throw from some of the best places on the Island. Easy access to the Truman Annex park and beach, as well as the Green Parrot and Duval st. The unit is exactly as the pictures show it. The kitchen is cute and convenient and makes the occasional meal very easy. The team at Compass made the check-in and check-out process as easy as is possible. No issues to note. Would definitely rent again.

One mirror in bathroom, very difficult for four women to get ready to go out...need more mirrors Not enough seats for four people to sit inside or outside...3 chairs for outdoor patio, 2 chairs for kitchen table Door to back patio very difficult to open Had to kill several cockroaches TVs in bedrooms don't work, no instructions. 2 rickety old beach chairs Dressers are so small, never unable to unpack 4 suitcases, had to live out of suitcase for a week Pull out couch mattress needs replaced and there were food crumbs inside when we pulled out the sofa bed. No furniture to sit on, on the front porch. The only plus was plenty of bath towels. Stayed in nicer places half the price.

Best of Times!

Our stay at Shady Nook @ Truman Annex was excellent. Shady Nook is an end unit, which gave us extra window space on the side, letting in lots of Florida sunshine. Like everything in Truman Annex, the location couldn't be better-very quiet but a quick walk to everything. We discovered Fausto's grocery store about three blocks away, so eating at home was easy. Of course, this didn't happen often because of all the great restaurants close by! The property managers at Compass Realty were very helpful and accommodating both before and during our trip. Truly an excellent experience, start to finish.

Ship yard 149 is quite dated and aged. I would not stay at this condo again for the money we spent. They need to upgrade things.

Great room!

The room itself was great and very clean! It was a bit hard to find the building to pick up the key. I do suggest there be a mirror somewhere outside of the bathroom so that others can get ready while someone is showering or using the restroom. Overall it was great though and had easy access out to the Main Street!

First time in Key West

We had a very positive experience with the vacation home. The unit we reserved was as described and in a wonderful and mavelously convenient area. We walked to just about EVERYTHING! We had no need to drive. The grounds are stunning! A two ladies traveling we felt very safe and secure. Unfortunately, the unit above ours had plumbing issues which required us to be relocated. The management company went above and beyond compensating us by upgrading us to better units with better amenities. Sure it was an unforseen inconvenience but the staff made the moves almost effortless. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this and other units in this area.

Comfortable in Key West

Shady Nook was spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. It was so convenient to Old Town, the Truman Waterfront, and Ft Zachery Taylor State Park. We could walk everywhere!

Great location, room needs upgrades

We loved the location of this property. Was disappointed in the leaky shower. Shower had glass doors which leaked every time it was used. Was also disappointed in the cleanliness of the sheets. Found a lot of body hair on fitted sheet so not sure if sheets were even washed. For the money we spent, we were hoping for a nicer complex. It is truly a great location to see everything in town. Everything is walking distance. This complex is right on the street so sitting out back, you can hear the traffic and people out on the streets. Also was woke up to roosters crowing about every morning very early.

Nice stay

We had a nice week at the property, the kitchen was well stocked and we were able to cooked all our meals there. The complex was quiet and walking distance to all the life and points of interest. The property can be updated, but it is exactly as it’s shown on the listing.
