Your days are filled with exploring miles of white sand beaches steps from your luxury vacation home, hiking the adjacent Waimea Canyon and lush verdant mountains of Koke'e, or perhaps an adventurous boat tour to experience the breathtaking Na Pali coast. Maybe you choose to explore that book you've been promising yourself and kick back and relax on your oceanfront lanai enjoying cocktails and Island-style pupus watching the sun set over the Forbidden Island of Ni`ihau. The possibilities are endless, the surroundings are the definition of paradise!

Emergency Procedures
We are glad to say that in our 16 years of ownership of this property, we have not experienced any damage from a Hurricane or Tsunami at this location. It is good practice, however, to have an emergency plan in place as this property is located in a Tsunami Evacuation Zone. Please see the map below which details the preferred routes and emergency locations for both Hurricane and Tsunami Warnings. In essence, Hurricane Shelter is provided at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center, one block West; and in case of Tsunami Warning, local residents drive up the close by Highway 552 towards Waimea Canyon / Koke`e Park. Most experts say that once you are at least 100 feet above sea level, you are out of Tsunami danger. This can be accomplished in approximately a five-minute drive from the house. Large house with plenty of room for 10 adults to enjoy time together as well as alone. Evenings spent relaxing on the lanai watching spectacular sunsets over the ocean waves offered the perfect way to end our sun-soaked days. Patrick & Jules were exceptionally responsive & helpful during our stay. Would definitely stay at Hale La again.

Without a doubt, the balcony and view are the highlights of this place! We thoroughly enjoyed them. Host was very responsive to my questions prior to and during our stay.Unfortunately, the property did not deliver all that was advertised and has some maintenance issues. To list some of them:1. Listing shows beautiful outdoor BBQ area. But the sink had no water and BBQ had no propane.2. Listing says shampoo included. None was.3. Listing says Fussball game but game is broken.4. Listing says ice maker but it doesn’t work. It just leaves a gigantic block of ice in the tray. No individual ice cubes.5. Dining room chair legs are loose and in danger of collapsing.6. There was a hand beater in the kitchen, but only one blade.7. There were two dozen margarita glasses but no wine glasses. one champagne glass.8. TV in upstairs bedroom would not turn on.9. Sink in one downstairs bedroom clogged and slow draining.The house is wonderful but no longer qualifies as “luxury” due to lack of maintenance.

The house was gorgeous! We had our 3 daughters and spouses and 2 grandsons. Everyone was happy with the house! The owners are wonderful people! Hated to leave!

The view of the ocean from the patio was amazing so was the outdoor areas but the inside of the house not so great. Bathrooms/toilets old and dirty. Dishwasher didn’t work and all the pillows were old and dirty.

Roomy comfortable house in great location on Kauai's south shore. And our hosts were very helpful in arranging a fantastic boat excusion to see the incredible Na Pali coast. We would be happy to return to this home.

Great Stay!

Our stay at this VRBO in Kauai was absolutely perfect! The location was stunning—so close to the ocean that we could hear the waves and enjoy breathtaking sunsets every evening. The home itself was spacious and well-equipped, comfortably accommodating our large group with plenty of room to relax.The host was fantastic—she responded quickly to all our messages and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, even providing folding chairs and a tent for the park. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, making our stay stress-free and enjoyable.We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Kauai, and if we ever return, we wouldn’t hesitate to book it again!

We loved everything about this place!

Beautiful sunsets, gorgeous view of the ocean, quiet location, plenty of room to spread out, comfortable environment, gracious and responsive host. The host family made sure we had everything we needed, and when asked, they provided great recommendations for restaurants and activities!

Ample room for 4 couples, loved that we each had our own bathrooms. Gorgeous sunsets from lanai. Beaches just up the road, lots of hiking nearby in the canyon. This house was perfect for us.

Wonderful Family Vacation Spot!

We absolutely loved this vacation home! The view of the ocean from the deck was beautiful and we ate out there everyday. The kitchen was well-stocked. The home was clean and spacious. The owners were super responsive to all our communications. We would highly recommend this location!

You can watch the waves all day!

The house was large enough for our party of nine. The teens loved the foosball table and everyone enjoyed the deck. The stars at night were amazing. There were plenty of plates, glasses, and place settings of silverware. We had several beach towels and chairs to use on the beach. We did end up driving to Lihue and beyond a few times but the house and laid back Waimea area offset the drive to activities.

Balcony of Serenity

The balcony view steals the show, a beautiful way to start your day with coffee on this balcony. The house did not disappoint. We were 3 families totaling 10 with plenty of room and space for everyone comfortably. 4 master bedrooms with private restrooms in each. Had an additional bedroom for lil children attached to upstairs master with another single bedroom. We had a few issues but nothing major that the owners didn't address right away. The only thing I would recommend is make renters aware if you or others will be entering the home while guests are out for repairs and make sure it's ok prior to making those arrangements. Would highly recommended this rental. Got to experience the calm South side of Kauai near Waimea. If you are looking to stay away from the busy Lihue/North side this is a perfect location.

This is an amazing home to stay in with a group of people. The porch looks right out over the ocean. Perfect for any time of day!! Don't think about it anymore and just book your vacation here.

50th birthday

The house was amazing! We had a group of eight adults, and there was still room for children if necessary. The owners were awesome and I can’t thank them enough for our stay. The Ocean View and patio was just perfect for us. We preferred a desolate side of the island, and this was great. Thank you for our stay, we will be back!

Amazing property

This property exceeded our expectations!!! House was huge, clean and filled with everything we needed for the week. The kids loved their personal little beds. Views of the beach were amazing and sunsets were perfect walking distance. Owner was very responsive and helpful in all aspects. They went above a beyond. Overall amazing time spent there. Can’t wait to come back for more!

The best VRBO I’ve Been To

My husband and I just got married in Kauai and were looking for a big home to share with our family and a few close friends for the duration of the trip. I’m SO grateful that we had the opportunity to stay in this beautiful home and can say with 1,000% certainty that if we travel to Kauai with a group again we will definitely plan to stay here again! The bedrooms were all nice and there were enough bathrooms that nobody had to share. The house was well stocked and if there was something that we needed Jules was very quick to respond and would get it to us right away! The shared living spaces were perfect for our group to hang out in and the deck and back yard with the ocean view were even better than I could have imagined. Jules also was very helpful when it came to recommendations/updates on things to do while on the island. The one thing that was a challenge was this side of the island seemed to have more mosquitoes, but nothing that some bug spray couldn’t solve! We also enjoyed how quiet and laid-back this part of the island is and it really was SO close to Waimea. After the rest of our group left my husband and I checked into a smaller VRBO for our ‘honeymoon’ and we were just so disappointed with it after staying in this amazing rental. If you’re on the fence about this place, just book it, I guarantee you won’t regret it! While we didn’t have any children in our party, there was an adorable room that had smaller beds for kiddos so it would be perfect for a family!
