In one of the most beautiful places of Kefalonia, in the Southwest side of the island,located the coastal area of ​​Agios Thomas with the homonymous beach, which has Geological, Paleontological, Aesthetic and Mythological interest.
At the coastline natural craters have been created who collect seawater, which after evaporating leaves a crust of brine on the surface.This crust ("afrala") collected by the locals and is essentially the "salt flower".

Nearby is the Castle of Agios Georgios, the Mycenaean cemetery of Mazarakata, the Monastery of Agios Andreas Milapidias which has a Byzantine Ecclesiastical Museum.
