Quiet Getaway- Waterfront cottage

Pet friendly-Classic year around waterfront family cottage located on pristine Grass Lake/ Loon Lake in Kearney, just outside of Huntsville. Ideal family getaway for a week or a few days to take a break and relax. Fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with everything you need to enjoy your stay, satellite TV, BBQ, High speed internet, microwave, fire pit, firewood. Perfect sandy lake entrance, excellent swimming, fishing, and just relaxing. Large lakeside deck off the kitchen/living room for lounging and stargazing. Includes 2 canoes, 2 kayaks. July-August full week rentals only Sat.-Sat.
Just outside of Kearney in the Huntsville area.
This reservation has a Flexible cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 30 days prior to the check in date.
A 100% refund is provided for travellers cancelling at least 30 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travellers cancelling from 14 to 29 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travellers cancelling less than 14 days prior to check-in. CanadaStays Booking Fees are refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking request.
Our house rules: primary renter must be 25 or older, no smoking, no parties or events.

Beautiful and private and cozy cottage. Great place to unwind and relax with family and friends. Very friendly property manager. We had a great time. U would highly recommend!!

A winter wonderland

This was a beautiful cottage. Very clean and well maintained. Excellent heating for winter weather. All amenities available. Property was very responsive. A wonderful rental experience.

Pleasant quiet week

Swimming was good although had to walk in, no diving. Saw and heard a loon family every day. Nice touch to have firewood ready for us to have a little bonfire. Everything worked as it should. One small item to note is to bring sheets for a queen sized bed in the main bedroom (not double). There is a twin over double bunk bed in the other bedroom.

Big bass!!

House was nice and clean. Has everything you need. The grill gave food a good taste. Lakefront with a dock and kayaks/canoe. There is a ton of big bass in the lake. They say there is trout also but have to troll on a boat to catch. The backcountry of Algonquin State Park near Tim River is about 30 minutes away. It is pretty secluded back there. I was surprised by how many restaurants were in Kearney (nearby town). DJ’s restaurant has very good food and service.

We enjoyed the beautiful view and location on the water.But thought the cabin could use some comfortable and updated coach and mattress and at times air-conditioning would have been nice.Will stick to are USA cabins so much more for the price.

Beautiful place

Bryan and family provided the beautiful, clean, comfortable home away from home. Everything was ready 😊. Enjoyed the view, the sunset, the kayak, the lake, the terrace, the bay window…enjoyed every moment there – definitely want to come back.

Great week of relaxation!

My husband and I just returned from a great week at Grass Lake. The cottage itself is the perfect size for a couple or small family. Everything was clean and organized when we arrived - everything you could possibly need is made available to you! The lake itself is so clean, so quiet and so peaceful. We had a great time out on our kayaks fishing every day! Would be happy to return again next year... Thank you Bryan and family for giving us such a lovely place to vacation!

Beautiful cottage

The perfect size for a family or couple with an amazing view and beautiful lake to enjoy. I'd definitely stay there again. But make sure you download offline directions, getting there was reasonably easy but data and networks could be patchy. WiFi included at the cottage.

The Perfect Getaway

If you’re looking for a lakefront cottage for a small group of friends or family - this is the place. It’s better than the photos in the listing - beautiful view with a fire pit, kayaks & canoes for visitor use, and a lovely cottage with lots of windows for natural light and a view at every angle. Thank you Brian for a great weekend away. We’ll definitely be back!

Quality time

We really enjoyed going to this property, it’s a beautiful area and it was quite peaceful during the week we stayed. We kayaked and visited Algonquin Park, did a lot of hiking with our dog. It was just what we needed.

Amazing cottage rental!

This property was perfect! It had all the amenities we required. The lake was quiet, excellent swimming, and beautiful sunsets. The host was phenomenal. Most importantly, our dogs had a blast! Will definitely book again if the host will have us!

Winter wonderland

What a beautiful place to visit. Definitely recommend staying in February as the view from the cottage of the frozen lake was fantastic. I have never visited somewhere so peaceful with no neighbours around ( may be less peaceful in the summer). Great combination of being able to cosy up in the living room watching the birds on the bird feeder with the lake in the background and being active. Outside we went snowshoeing on the lake and on the cottage's private acerage/ Crown Land across the road ( access through the green gate). You make your own trail so this was tough going in the thick snow but great exercise. Cottage was very clean, warm and bigger than I expected. Added bonus was being able to take our dogs. We even managed to have a beer on the frozen dock watching the sun set. Thanks Bryan for the relaxing visit just what we needed.

Lovely cabin for a getaway. Location was nice with lake few steps away. Kayaks were available for us to use and the kitchen was well stocked. Was a pleasure to stay here, we will hopefully be back!

Great time

We loved our stay at the Grassroots cottage. It was clean and had everything we needed. Right on the water and shallow enough for our three young kids to dip their toes in. The beds were comfortable and all appliances worked well. We hope to come back someday.

Nice, comfortable cottage

It was a great location, clean, comfortable cottage with all the amenities you could want and lots of perfect cottagy games, puzzles and the like for visitors to enjoy. In addition there was information on hikes, biking and what’s to be found in nearby towns. Bryan was extremely helpful.
