Review Summary – Ati Ambavi Hotel, Gudauri
Having travelled to 50+ countries and stayed in 100+ hotels worldwide, I rarely leave negative reviews. However, my experience at Ati Ambavi was disappointing enough that future guests should be aware of a few important things before booking.
First, the hotel policies are extremely rigid. Our original trip was disrupted by a regional war that cancelled flights, yet the hotel refused any refund or meaningful flexibility. The only option offered was to postpone the stay by one week, which is something I have never encountered anywhere else in the world in a force-majeure situation. Book here only if your travel plans are absolutely certain.
Second, the room did not match the one we booked (Comfort Room with Balcony). The room was small, basic, missing a fridge and telephone, and the heating was turned down during the last days which made it uncomfortable.
The restaurant food was good but extremely overpriced, likely one of the most expensive in Gudauri. Breakfast quality also declined after the first day and simple items like eggs took 20–25 minutes to arrive.
The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the ski lift, with a shuttle only at fixed hours and no flexibility outside them.
Overall, the hotel lacks flexibility and guest-oriented service. I strongly recommend thinking twice before booking.
