Stay in Dec2022 was fantastic so decided to stay again in Feb2026 for an unexpected visit to KC to attend funeral services. We booked a suite and were given a room that was right above the restaurant. We asked for something higher up but was told it was the only room left upon checking in around 530pm. The hotel looked empty. Upon entry to our room we noticed there were no windows except in the bathroom. Carpet and furniture had significant stains, etching of graffiti in the wood beams, etc. This all was not a big deal for us, the issue was the smell. The restaurant runs late and starts early. Our room was filled with fried, garlic, onion, etc smell the entire stay. This was unfortunate when attending funeral services over 2 days in dress clothes and seeing a lot of people. Our clothes smelled, we smelled like the restaurant food. Not what we wanted to deal after paying so much for our stay. Beware, the 2nd floor room (288) smells and run down with no windows.
