I booked and paid through expedia. My husband arrived before i did. When I arrived i was suprised to see that we were in the wrong room. They had given us room 147. It was a room with a queen bed, no skirt around the bed, the one chair in the room was dirty, the padding had big stains on it. I immediately went down to the front desk to show them my receipt. I had booked and paid for a room with a king bed and a sofa bed. After much conversation they said they dont have that room for me and that my best bet was to come down in the morning and then they would try and move us to a room that we had paid for. I was told by two different people at the front desk the issue is that I ordered through Expedia and they cant really help me . My husband by then didnt want to pack up everything and move so we ended up staying in this crappy room both nights. When I asked for some kind of compensation since I didnt get what i paid for, the lady at the front desk said she couldnt help me because I booked through expedia and that was my fault for doing so. Her hands were tied now and she couldnt help me. Then she said hold on, went to the back and came back and said she was going to give me some points on my Marriot Benvoy account. She did. She gave me 1,000. Which is equivalent to maybe $9. The $9 didnt cover what i had paid to upgrade. I am very hesitant to use expedia in the future, especially if it involves a Marriot. We travel alot and I can say for certainty no more Marriott's for us.
