Esta é uma das quatro casas deste composto familiar (veja também Honu, Ehu Kai e Ulu Niu), Kolea representa uma continuidade, com muitas famílias retornando a ela todos os anos - por uma boa razão: é uma descoberta rara: uma casa de férias à beira-mar a uma taxa acessível. Situado entre a sombra refrescante de uma coleção coqueiro que já foi a maior do estado, quintal gramado do Kolea é quase um acre em tamanho grande para as crianças. Passos de distância é a praia de areia branca de Waialea Bay, onde você nadar, mergulhar, snorkel e tomar sol, enquanto desfruta do honu (tartarugas marinhas), arraias manta e atividade baleia inverno.
    A casa de três quartos, de dois banhos e dois andares, construída em 1969 e recentemente renovada em 2017, oferece uma confortável vida ao lado da praia com brisas frescas, refeições ao ar livre, vista para o mar e pores-do-sol espetaculares. Amazing!

This home was absolutely perfect for our family and made our stay even better than we imagined. The view from the back porch and easy access to the beautiful beach were a favorite! The house had all the comforts of home…well stocked for cooking, easy to use amenities such as TV, washer/dryer, plenty of linens and comfy beds. Mary was extremely attentive and made sure our stay was perfect. We happily recommend this wonderful home!

While there might be more swank places stay, I'm not sure any has this kind of backyard access to gorgeous bay. House was well equipped and taken care of. Perfect 2nd Stay - Longtime Repeat Clients

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We first stayed with 2Papaya in 2016 & this is our 2nd stay at Kolea House. We have also stayed at least three times at the Ehu Kai house, four times at the Honu house, and once at the Blue Makai house. As always, the house was perfect and the 2Papayas crew was friendly & helpful. Staying at Beach 69 with 2Papayas is our go-to relaxing vacation. The beach is stunning, with mild to no surf, snorkeling, and plenty of shade. Walking out the front gate and directly onto the beach is an amazing feeling every time you do it. The upstairs lanai overlooks the ocean, but still feels private from the beach because of the vegetation surrounding the property. Kolea House is perfectly set up for families or groups traveling together. The kitchen is well-equipped, the beds are very comfortable, and everything is spotless. My favorite feature of staying with 2Papayas is their dedication to using unscented cleaning and laundry products. Vacation rentals often reek of highly scented cleaning products, air fresheners, scented trash bags, dryer sheets, etc. At Kolea House, and at the other 2Papayas properties we've stayed at, all you smell is the scent of the plumeria and gardenia being carried on the ocean breeze. We are booked to come back to 2Papayas paradise in six months.

wonderful family retreat

Having A/C as an option in all bedrooms and LR was great but we mostly opened the windows and used the plentiful ceiling fans to enjoy the warm air. The location is prime and the view the best on the beach. We love the beach but also enjoyed being just minutes from both the Mauna Kea and Mauna Lani resorts and the beaches & amenities offered there. We look forward to returning to Kolea.

Beautiful Waialea Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We found Kolea in perfect shape when we checked in (a couple of hours early, which we appreciated). It's a lovely house in a great location, very close to the south part of the beach. The large lanai was great, with beautiful views, and we ate all our meals out there. The house is very well maintained, the kitchen has great appliances and everything you could need (one exception: no champagne glasses!), beds are comfy, linens of excellent quality. Plenty of fans & screens meant we never needed the A/C, though I'm sure it's nice to have in the summer. We really appreciated the large yard with loungers, and the fence and gate to the beach being "hidden in plain sight" so we had no concerns about beach goers accidentally wandering in. A few of our favorite things: Kauai shrimp from Da Fish House, chicken pies & mac nut tarts from the Hawaii Tart Company (at Waimea Farmers Market), steak from the Waimea Butcher, local butter from Kohala Grown Market in Hawi, lunch at Bamboo in Hawi, dinner at Napua at sunset, the Arts Co-op in Kapa'au, Nalu Builds in Hilo and, most of all, 2 Papayas' great service. We've booked with them for over a decade and have never been disappointed. Thanks to all of you for another great stay!

Wonderful

We had a great trip. Everything was wonderful. The view to the water was my favorite. I loved having the windows opened and hearing the ocean. We rented a kayak for the week. We rented bikes for the week. We used the kitchen for almost all our meals. The snorkeling from the beach in front was great we saw lots of fish, an octopus and turtles. At night we went out to the rock pools and could see brittle stars and all kinds of stuff. Lots of different kinds of birds. Mary from 2 papayas is great. We didn’t have any issues but she was available if we did. We had a question during our stay and she responded very quickly. I would love to stay again.

Really wonderful!

The property is very nice and the listing is accurate. The house was incredibly clean and it was a huge benefit to have a fully stocked kitchen. Definitely recommend.
