1. OCEAN view AND golf course view right over the 8th green - VERY rare! Watch the golfers go by during the day, and take in the breathtaking Hawaiian sunsets at night, all from the comfort of your own ground-floor lanai.
2. One of the largest two bedroom units you’ll find in Kona at 1,200sf!
3. California King memory foam mattress in master suite - you’ll sleep like a teenager.
4. Memory foam queen in guest room - REALLY comfortable!
5. Pull out couch for two additional people, if needed (6 people max allowed).
6. Coastal-Beach décor unlike any other - light, airy, and modern! You’ll love the beachy feel during your stay here.
7. You can grill right on your own lanai. So convenient! Most complexes have separate, common BBQ areas you’re required to use.
8. Ground floor (partially below ground) unit DOES have A/C and stays quite cool, and has excellent airflow with a ceiling fan in every room. There is virtually no road noise - very quiet and tranquil. Find your inner peace.
9. Chef’s kitchen, fully stocked, and newly remodeled with new KitchenAid appliances. Bring your favorite Keurig cups, we provide the machine!
10. Spacious walk in closet in the master en suite for all your gear.
11. Several toys included for your use: beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, beach umbrella, soft side insulated cooler.
12. World-class Hapuna Beach is close! Consistently rated by Conde Nast Traveler magazine as one of the best beaches in the nation! We can vouch for the rich turquoise blue, calm, clear waters, super fine, soft sand and clean facilities. There are fresh water showers, restrooms, clean picnic areas, and a volleyball net. Lots of people enjoy this beach, but it’s not overly crowded. Only about a 40 minute beautiful, scenic drive. There are other beaches closer for your convenience, but we highly recommend you visit this one at least once on your trip. It’s a “must-do” in our book.
13. Snorkeling. So much amazing snorkeling very near by.
14. The Outrigger Kona Resort’s HOOLA SPA is a short walk away. “Hoola” means “to heal” in Hawaiian. Treat yourself! You deserve it. Affordable and Exceptional

This rental looked too good to be true with the price point it was listed at, but it still managed to blow away expectations! The owners went above and beyond to make sure we knew everything there was to do here, and that we were comfortable doing so. This really did feel like a home away from home. The accommodation for kids were amazing, making this an extremely family friendly location. Any communication with the property manager was always promptly answered with a very short turnaround time. Overall, I was extremely impressed and would definitely stay at the Salty Mermaid again!!

Terrific Condo Complex

Had a wonderful one month stay in unit B103 which is situated where the views of the sunset are spectacular and where some cool breezes off the ocean keep you comfortable. The condo is well appointed, updated (master bathroom is superb), and has a huge lanai with a barbeque (most other condo complexes have public spaces for fixing your meal). The grounds are well maintained and the foliage while we were there was pretty much in full bloom. There is also a large pool which I used almost daily in the afternoon (after golf). There are a number of rules regarding what you can take to the pool, how old you have to be to use the hot tub, etc. I did not find this troubling as many of the units are owner occupied and one needs to remember then that this is not a hotel. OK for kids as long as a parent does minimal supervision. All in all I would just say that the place has a great vibe, nice people around you, and I plan to return next year.

Relaxing, fabulous and the best vacation we have ever had!

Our family of five arrived Christmas Day and enjoyed The Big Island until January 7th. The condo was our home away from home! The location was great with a private parking spot. The condo is well equipped with comfy beds, washer and dryer, huge fridge/freezer, a bbq, great outdoor area, beach towels and chairs as well as sand toys. Pool and hot tub were great as well and our three girls had fun swimming! Communication was great and quick. We would not change a thing and we are already planning another stay!

Exceptional!!

Extremely clean, well appointed with many extras. Right on the golf course with views of the ocean. Close to the Sheraton for many other amenities like luaus, fine dining on the oceanfront, a spa, and other adventures that can be booked. Highly recommend!

Perfect Big Island Holiday Condo!

We stayed for 2 weeks in October, was a great condo, anything you needed was available within the condo, fully equipped kitchen, coffee machine, beach gear etc. Walking distance to the Sheraton and very short drive to shopping area. It was a great base to explore the Island and only a 15-20 min drive to Kona. We also used the Sheraton trolley shuttle, $2 per trip, kids loved it! I would recommend this condo, and would definitely stay there again. Does not have AC, but the condo stays cool being ground floor and plenty of ceiling fans. The outdoor area is great to chill out! The pool area is perfect for adults and children.

HORRIBLE

The first day we were there the on site manager starts telling us the kids can't make noise at the pool or play any games or bring any toys.It was not a kid friendly place when we were at the pool we had to tell the kids to keep it down like we were at the library. Also the second day the toilet was not working it took 5 days for them to fix it. It should say adults only like we saw other places saying. We would NEVER stay at this property again or recommend it to anyone.Once we got home we get an email that we might owe almost $700.00 because of the toilet breaking and the knob for the kitchen sink cabinet came off they just need to screw it back on. We took insurance out in case of anything happening and the property manager is wanting to charge us and filed a claim with the insurance so their trying to double dip. Jessica one of the property managers was very argumentative and blaming us for the toilet not working by saying they just had a family there and it worked but that's not true because her husband came to fix the toilet after 5 days and told my husband that they just had to replace the pump.DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!!!!!!!! I only gave one star because it wouldn't let me submit it otherwise if so I would give no stars.
