"The apartment is really nice, well designed, with a nice lanai on the pool. The place is very quiet so you'll have a wonderful night of sleeping. In the apartment you'll find everything you need to make your vacation a great one. They give you beach supplies and more. It's really in the center of Kona, so you don't have to drive to have breakfast or dinner, everything is really, really close, just five minute walk or even less! If I've ever come back to the Big Island I'll check for the availability of this place first!"

Your Ali'i Dr. Downtown Kona Beach Condo is just a few minutes walk along the annual mid-October World Triathlon Ironman Championship race route to get to the Start/Finish at the Kona Pier. Ironman event guests who wish to stay longer than the minimum 14 nights at Ironman rates can have their extra adjacent nights price reduced to non-event rates. If you are looking for an isolated, out-of-town, high end condo with a separate bedroom, this is not for you. If you are looking for a cozy, upgraded vacation rental studio right downtown, this is for you. Located on Ali'i Drive beach road right in the historic village of Kailua in Kona, you can walk everywhere instead of having to drive or take a cab - especially convenient after going out on the town. Then go exploring! Soak up the sun and the exotic Hawaiian atmosphere as you stroll down Ali'i Drive, the beach road that winds its way along the interesting shops of the historic village of Kailua in Kona. Along the way, enjoy a cup of world famous Kona coffee which is grown right on the slope above Kailua-Kona. You will discover the Kona Farmer's Market less than a block away for fresh fruit and vegetables, exotic flowers includingl Hawaiian leis and Hawaiian souvenirs and gifts. Kailua-Kona was the original seat of government for the Kingdom of Hawaii after Chief Kamehameha of Kona consolidated his rule over most of the Hawaiian Islands and became the king. The famous Ironman Triathlon World Championship start and finish is nearby at the world-famous, Kailua-Kona pier. Notice that we are on the drier side of the Big Island of Hawaii on the sunny Kona coast. Perhaps plan a day trip farther afield to view an active lava-spewing volcano on the other side of the island. Later, maybe on to Hilo where it tends to rain a little more to see Rainbow Falls. You can also drive up to the top of Mauna Kea where a cluster of international celestial observatories are so high up that they are at the year-round snow elevation at the summit. If you are a tennis or basketball afficienado there are public courts. Want to learn how to surf and be safe in the surf? Hawaii Lifeguard Surf Instructors building is but blocks away along the beach road, Ali'i Drive. If golf is your passion, there are at least 10 golf courses within a 20 mile radius - ranging from Championship 18 hole courses to easier 9 hole courses. There are many historical churches within a short stroll, all very interesting. Kona is the start point of expeditions to the volcano by helicopter, by car, by inter-city bus, by tour bus, by boat. Then there is the Parker Ranch, the celestial observatories, the historic Hawaiian cultural sites, the nearby university, the Natural Energy labs NELHA, the luaus, the surfing, the....
