From spinning records on the Bluetooth turntable to soaking under the stars in the privacy-fenced hot tub, Shadow Mountain balances sophisticated retro aesthetics with modern essentials like an EV charger and a state-of-the-art kitchen.

◎ To make your desert stay even cooler for the summer, Homestead Modern has teamed up with The Joshua Tree Retreat Center to grant you exclusive access to their pool facilities during the months of May - August. The pool is located on the historic Joshua Tree Retreat Center Campus, 4.7 miles from Shadow Mountain. Access hours are 8AM to 9PM and guests in your reservation will receive complementary access to the pool facility. It’s the ultimate way to beat the Mojave heat and soak in those iconic Joshua Tree views and the Retreat Center has an organic cafe nearby as well.

Guest Access:

You will have the entire house and property to yourself. Only registered guests are allowed, unless specifically agreed upon during the booking process.



While we encourage taking walks on Shadow Mountain property and in the National Park, please do not wander into our neighbor's backyards in the surrounding area as you will be trespassing on private property.



Also note, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO USE OF OFF HIGHWAY VEHICLES (OHV) IN THIS AREA.

Getting Around:

This is a remote location down dirt roads, so please take it slow. While a car is required to get around, a four wheel drive car is not, but note that roads will often have ruts, particularly after a rain.

◎ EVENTS & COMMERCIAL PHOTOSHOOTS: Are not permitted without prior approval, applicable permit and additional fees.



◎ PETS: This home is a pet free environment and pets are not permitted.



◎ SOCIAL MEDIA: If you plan on sharing your experience on social media, please mention us!



◎ CELL SERVICE: Cell phone service availability and quality in the high desert varies by service provider. This is particularly true in the more remote areas of Joshua Tree, Pipes Canyon, and Pioneertown. Please be prepared by enabling wifi calling or downloading a VOIP program.
