Apparently most of the camps in Wadi Rum do this is to stop guests trying to drive themselves to the real site and getting stuck in the sand! "I’ve stayed in other desert camps around the world and my impression was that Mazayen could be more authentic and it’s definitely not good value for the price. The rooms are ok and comfy enough, but it looks like a regular hotel room. Bathroom cleanliness was a big issue as it looked like it wasn’t cleaned after previous use. The restaurant pavilion is too big and impersonal, there wasn’t bonfire or music the day I was there. The food served for lunch was rather expensive and not of good...
