We arrived after 10pm, room was booked for 2 adults and 1 10 year old child, however it was not set up for 3 . Sofa bed was not ready , nor were there towels or toiletries or water for 3. We had to wait for housekeeping to get that set up and it was getting late. At around 3am 13 aug, electricity incl aircon in the room went off and emergency light in the room turned on. My husband called the reception and was told that paradigm mall was doing maintenance and the power be back in 5-10min. By 330am nothing has happened, the reception would not even pick up the call and my husband had to go down. At that point they just claimed they didn’t know of this maintenance and it’s not their fault and they will let us know when it’s resolved. We did not need them to call us as the light would turn off when it’s resolved so we would know.
There was no apology for incon, we were just told to wait for it to be over. I find it hard to believe that the mall would not inform such a big hotel of an upcoming maintenance. The hotel should inform the guest of this and I can make an informed decision about staying there. Secondly, why such things are carried out at 3am and if this is something that does occur, hotel should have some means to reduce the inconvenience this causes. I did not travel there to be up half a night staring at emergency light , it’s broken sleep and affects us the next day. While the hotel is nice, I find that incident is unacceptable and communication was poor
