Cozy spot, close to Hunter Mountain

Stayed here while visiting Hunter Mountain. It's about a 10 minute drive from the resort. Cozy place, functional fireplace was handy in the winter, although the heater did MOSTLY keep up with the frigid temperatures outside (-15 degrees at night). Note the the wood burning (listed as one of the two fireplaces in the listing) is non-functional, as it is not connected to any chimney. Due to the cold, weren't able to make use of any of the outdoor space, but there was a fire pit on site and some chairs on the deck. Couple of lights that were burned out, but I would expect the owner could fix those up quick enough, and this is likely not an issue anymore.

Served it's purpose. Camera inside.

The property was close to the mountains which was great. It was also spacious and had a nice fireplace. However, there were a lot of things off with this place. There is a camera as soon as you walk inside which would capture you going up and down the stairs. The grout in the showers was red/black as well as the shower liner, which I guess could be due to sulfur in the water but it made the showers feel dirty. There were cob webs on the walls of the dining area, burned out bulbs in multiple light fixtures, the toaster and coffee maker were missing essential buttons, and the faucets were wonky. The kitchen faucet did not have a fixed position that provided hot water - you had to spin it around and play with it until there was hot water. The faucets in the master bathroom were not securely fixed to the countertop. The doorframe of the master was half detached exposing nails, and the vent cover on the bottom of the fridge was not attached. The one set of bed sheets had a musty smell to them. The smart lock on the door had exposed batteries which did not feel safe. The smoke detectors were all literally hanging out of the wall (wires exposed). The inside of the dishwasher was dirty as well. If you want to use the fireplace, make sure you bring your own wood.

Cool hideaway chalet

Nice place in the center of the woods. Good space and cool decor. If you want to use fire pit make sure you bring the essentials. We got a real mountain experience.

Lovely Getaway

This location was a perfect place for a getaway with some friends. There was more than enough room for everyone to spread out. We will surely be back if ever in the area.

Great place for a weekend away!

Overall, the property was great and the communication with the host was excellent. We were able to virtually check in and out, and enjoyed our weekend at the house. Only complaint is that there is some rusting in the bathrooms (tub, toilets, etc.) that was a little off putting. Would recommend to stay at this property for very close access to Hunter Mountain!

Clean, Comfortable, Spacious, Secluded

This is a wonderful house to stay in. It is beautiful, spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet, and secluded and has everything you need. There is a lovely deck and outdoor area with a fire pit. The hosts were very helpful with everything, including offering advice on where to hike. We stayed for just a few days, but felt very much at home and had a wonderful break from city living. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful house + Great family trip!

We had a wonderful time at this convenient and yet very secluded property right in the middle of the woods - a perfect setting for those wishing to 'get away'. Very close to both Hunter and Tannersville - lots of shops and restaurants, hikes, lakes, etc. (North-South Lake is great!) The house itself is lovely with plenty of room - a great open concept kitchen/dining/living room leading out to the large deck + yard with fire pit. Plenty of bathrooms and comfortable bedrooms, plus an extra living room area downstairs with a TV and tons of game. The house has AC though we didn't need it most of the time - the house was generally very comfortable temperature-wise. We appreciated the adorable knick knacks/charming furniture throughout. It felt like 'home' and we were really sorry to leave (5 nights go fast!) We have stayed at several rental properties over the years but our kids really had a blast in this house and keep talking about going back!

Was a great time!

The property was everything we were hoping for. Hit a little bit of a road bump when we lost power one might, but the property managers were easily accessible and friendly when we contacted them. I think the power going out added to our trip and made it more memorable. Overall I woild.highly recommend this location and hope to rent it again in the future!

Clean and Comfortable

The cabin was just as pictured, clean and comfortable. Our family had a wonderful weekend skiing at Mt. Hunter. This property uses an electronic lock system which the owner has to send an invite and provide a code. The only issue we had was getting the lock code prior to our stay. Thankfully, we were able to get this resolved the night before our stay. Aside from that minor issue, everything was wonderful.

Wonderful getaway in the mountains

We really had a lovely time. The property was spotless and well-kept. Accommodations were fantastic with plenty of room for guests. Access to a grill and fire pit made for some great nights under the stars. All the amenities you could ask for.

Beautiful Interior & wonderful owner!

Upon first arrival I was a little worried due to the exterior of the house not matching the photos exactly. It looks a touch more run down than the photos showed. But the interior was exactly what the photos had, it was beautiful. The kitchen was newer and there was plenty of space for all 8 of us. Another thing that worried me upon our arrival was because the grass had not been cut. It was about knee high, so we unfortunately weren't able to play yard games in the yard, we had to use the drive way and use cardboard to pat down some of the grass (we were nervous about ticks! we saw so many deer on the street *which by the way was such a nice welcome*), so we just used some cardboard we had and made it work. We also weren't able to use the fire pit the first few nights. I text the owner, Merri, right away and she was very apologetic, said she was under the impression it had been taken care of, and she let us know she'd try her hardest to get the lawn taken care of while we were there. So she did finally get someone there for us, and on our last night we were able to have a nice send off fire and we were able to make some of the s'mores Merri left for us to enjoy. Overall I would definitely recommend the home and would stay myself again. Merri made it super easy and it was a great weekend! So thanks Merri!

Looks good in pictures and at night, but...

We stayed at the cabin this past weekend, and the first hour was eventful. Within 5 minutes of entering, I slipped on the top step walking down to get luggage from the car due to the stair runners not being fastened to the steps, and fell down the rest of the stairs, landing on my elbow and requiring me to take aspirin and use ice for the rest of the weekend. Secondly, the carbon monoxide alarm was chirping loudly upon entry, and only temporarily stopped when the smoke alarm went off for no apparent reason 15 minutes after we arrived, resulting in the Jewett FD showing up with 5 responders. They checked the alarm and found no smoke, fire, or carbon monoxide, but the alarm continued to loudly chirp every 60 seconds for the rest of the weekend, keeping everyone up because we were afraid to end up with the FD responding again by messing with the alarm. Finally, one guest sleeping in the downstairs bedroom found mouse droppings in his bed after sleeping in it all night on Friday. He cleaned it up on Saturday morning and assumed that they were old, but when he and his wife awoke on Sunday morning, there was a fresh surprise- more mouse droppings! While I understand that this is a country house and these things happen, the cumulative effect of all the above mentioned incidents resulted in an un-relaxing weekend for all of the guests, and left us wishing that there was another option that we would have taken for a place to stay this weekend. The house and the furnishings were pretty dated and rickety, and the slow response time from the property manager (3 calls to a full voice mailbox and a 4th call to finally get someone on the phone while the alarm was blaring and the FD was there) left us feeling that once the bill was paid, we were pretty much on our own.

Nice but has some issues

Overall, we liked the property and our experience but there are some major issues we had. The house has a serious mouse problem. We had to clean all the cookware because they were all covered in mouse feces. Additionally, the mice ate some of the produce we had left on the counter. When we washed the counter off in the morning it was covered in mouse feces as well. A lot of the bathroom walls have holes from the door handles and it looks like they've tried to repair them but failed. The app to open the door worked okay but overall I found it stressful to ensure my phone never died or else we'd be locked out. In terms of the check-in/out times, I think it's pretty stingy of them to have us check-in at 3pm and out at 10am. It's a really early time when they check-in is so late. The upstairs area was nice with the large open kitchen/living room. We spent the majority of time in there and we really loved it. We also loved the amount of bedrooms and bathrooms. It was nice for our group we had. Some of the furniture could used to be upgraded but overall it was nice. I'm not sure id stay here again but overall enjoyed the stay.

Great Cabin in the Woods

First, I should start by saying that the cabin was awesome and you cant beat the solitude it offers in the Catskils tucked right in between two ski towns. It made the entire trip. You feel like your the only one on the block and it is at the end of the road. The company who rents it was responsive to every question I had. It backs up to a creek which was awesome and a short walk. I had service the whole time and the house has WIFI. Second, some negatives: the house had no wood to burn left which wasn't a problem since we are a pretty resourceful bunch but if your not, plan on bringing wood or spending money on bundles. It also had a few broken windows which we made sure to let the company who rents it out know. The grill is charcoal so plan for that too. The batteries were all dead in the thermostat. Lets just say the house isn't in perfect condition but we really didn't mind because you spend all day outside anyway. Overall, I would book this place again potentially in the winter when there is more to do in the surrounding towns.

Wonderful home on a dead end road

Beautiful private home which is the last house on a dead end street quiet and cozy with no neighbors in sight a little walk in the woods brings you to a beautiful stream I would highly recommend anyone to rent this little piece of catskills paradise

Worked with some complications

The house is in a lovely peaceful setting. Worked very well for our party for a nearby wedding. Would recommend a better dusting of the house in future and we had some complications with the electronic lock and the August app to let us in the door which never worked. For some reason, I never received texts from the assistant Haydee with the invitation code. We tried another phone, but it never worked and we had a quick turnaround from arrival to getting to some of the events so didn't have time to play with an app that didn't work. Haydee was very nice to remotely unlock the door which was very helpful, but she delayed sending us the code to the key box so I had to contact her twice again. This box was also challenging to use even though I had used others. She was available on the phone which was very helpful and also put us in touch with the property manager who tried to assist us, but it was a bit stressful so just leave plenty of time when you arrive to get in the house. Also, very few windows of the house opened so this would be helpful to have them fixed.
