We went to Nickelodeon Universe to take our 5 year old before school started. We wanted to be in between both New York and New Jersey. One of the things that is needed is guaranteed parking. This listing stated that we have off street drive way parking for one mid sized vehicle. However, when we arrived at 11:30 pm, parked in the driveway, we were told on the security cameras we have to park in the street. However the property manager on VRBO was assuring us we had the driveway. The next day, we left for the day and came back to the unit below’s vehicle in the driveway. She tenants said the owner Ron Ju messaged them privately and had them pay separately for the drive way. So it was essentially double booked. The issue is we have a 5 year old, you have to have a parking permit to park on the st. The property manager said the owner, Ron Ju, said the permit is too expensive but they were willing to refund the parking garage fees and provided an address to a parking garage. The parking garage is an HOUR walk. My husband is 6 ft 1 and can walk very fast. Took him an hour. Not to mention this is not a great area, I would definitely not be able to walk alone. After our stay we wanted a refund and to be compensated for the false information in the listing as it caused so much stress and ultimately ruined this trip. The property manager stopped responding to messages and calls. So we were not compensated and weren’t even able to get refunded for the parking garage either. S

There appears to be two rental units in this building and parking is only provided for 1 of the 2 units. I stayed in the upstairs unit and was told I had a dedicated parking spot. Turns out, the parking spot is for the downstairs unit. Parking on the street was a pain because they have a 4 hour max unless you have a neighborhood parking permit. I was forced to find overnight parking a few miles away and Uber back to the rental unit. Very inconvenient but I didn’t want my car towed from the street as the signs stated. I would have not rented a car on this trip if this place did not provide dedicated parking. The VRBO support team gave me incorrect parking info. Plus, the owners of this unit should add signage to the one parking spot so the renters know which unit gets the parking spot. The downstairs renters blocked my car in the driveway for a day and a half. Much confusion battling for the one parking spot at this location. Can a temporary neighborhood parking permit be provided for future upstairs renters? This would allow them to park on the street overnight. Thanks!

Beautiful Property, But Management Ruined the Stay The property itself was beautiful, spacious, and had great potential for a wonderful trip. Sadly, Luxury Lodging’s mismanagement turned it into one of the worst travel experiences we’ve had. Our confirmed 2:00 PM early check-in code didn’t work. We stood in the rain for an extended period, making multiple calls as our luggage and clothes got soaked. A downstairs neighbor told us the “owner” was coming, but a resident arrived instead, communicating with the company while we waited. Even after she agreed to let us in, she had to call them again and take my ID before granting access. While still outside, we were told for the first time that we wouldn’t have a place to stay for our last night due to “maintenance.” This was never disclosed before arrival. They initially promised to book and pay for alternate lodging, but over the next days we got constant, contradictory calls from different staff who clearly had no idea what was going on. Eventually, they told us to book the new place ourselves and offered no help for the hours between check-out and check-in. We spent our entire trip anxious about Monday and Tuesday. The property is lovely, but the management company’s lack of communication, broken promises, and unprofessional handling completely ruined the stay.
