"Definitely a hidden gem!the view of the lake from inside the house is phenomenal!will definitely be staying here again.if I had one complaint it would be the WiFi .it was VERY weak. I know we vacation to “disconnect “ but this day in age work is always there and you need to be able to communicate.that being said I still give it 5 stars!"

From the homegrown veggies and freshly-picked flowers waiting for us when we got there, to the serenely peaceful environment and proximity to the talladega national forest…I can’t overstate how wonderful our stay was. "The sugar shack was a great place to stay with my husband and daughter. Being right on the lake was amazing. It was just enough room for the three of us. The grill was in great condition, we grilled out each night of our stay. I think it’s important for anyone staying here knows that getting to the house from the top of the driveway and getting down to the lake could be challenging if you have any mobility issues. "The house is very cute little place for a stay on the lake. The bedroom with 2 beds had several dead bugs along the wall, maybe just need cleaned a little better. Overall house was very cute. There are, I believe, 62 steps down to the dock, where the kids lived jumping off and enjoying the water. Thank you for having us. Loved the painting on the dining room wall. Best view around. "

"We reserved this Vrbo when we had to travel to Pell City for our daughters state softball tournament, which was located almost next door! When we arrived the house was very clean and the host provided us with more than we expected! Barbara was very accommodating to our crazy schedule, which we appreciated SO much! "The house was very clean and is well maintained. Beds and furniture are very comfortable. Pretty views of the river and is in a quiet location. My only complaint is that there was only a half a roll of paper towels and only one extra trash bag and we were there for 4 days, not a big deal though. Overall, great place to stay!"

"Loved the place. Clean, well stocked, comfy beds and plenty of room. Owners quick to respond and very accommodating. The shower is listed as small, it is, however both my husband and I are, “Fluffy,” and we have plenty of room. Everything scrupulously clean. Will come back!"
