The host seemed very nice, but the house is falling apart. It is technically an upstairs unit of a much larger house, which seems to have permanent tenants. It’s quite spacious everywhere except the bathrooms, which are extremely small. The bathroom closest to the laundry machines was mostly unusable: shower didn’t turn on at all, toilet was flushed once and previous plumbing backed up. The kitchen sink did not have hot water, but it did get slightly warm after running it for a few minutes to wash dishes. There was food leftover in cabinets (an onion, open bag of rice, crumbs) and not nearly enough utensils or regular cups/bowls/plates to entertain even the four of us, let alone the 8 this is advertised to sleep. The toilet seat/lid in the one working bathroom was only half attached. There was an empty styrofoam cup in the bathroom when we arrived that was clearly forgotten trash. There are cobwebs in some corners of the bedrooms. The living room light and fan didn’t work. Most of the shades were broken/had chunks missing from them and no curtains to close over them for privacy. This is no fault of the owner, but there is extremely loud construction happening just down the road during the week that should be noted if choosing to stay anytime soon. Luckily, our reason for reserving was for a hockey tournament, so we really only needed to eat, shower, and sleep there for the most part, but it was a lesson learned in spending a little more money elsewhere.
