Andalucia 2 luxury self catering apartments close to the beautiful lake of Iznajar. The 2 bed apartment shares a pool with the 1 bed apartment and the new roof terrace apartment.
The accommodation is set on the edge of a lovely village with Stunning views of the mountains. This is a perfect setting for exploring the beautiful cities and lakes of Andalucia. All our apartments have been built with your ideal holiday in mind, peace and tranquillity at its best.
Only a 10 minute drive to Iznajar and its beautiful lake which has a beach and 2 bar/restaurants, also there are Sunbeds, Kayaks and Pedaloes for hire in the summer months.
Centrally located for Granada, Malaga, Seville or Cordoba and only 90 min away from the brilliant skiing on the Sierra Nevada.
We have a large pool, garden and plenty of terraces. the apartments are all well equipped with everything you could possibly need to have a great holiday.
All towels and bed linen provided.


Iznajar: The nearby, unspoiled village of Iznajar, with its traditional white houses. The village has a castle dating from the 8th century and the church from the 16th century. The village is quaint and sits on top of a hill and has spectacular views overlooking the beautiful Lake of Iznajar.

IZNAJAR LAKE: The lake is the largest in Andalucia and the second largest in the whole of Spain. It is 32 kilometres long and it goes through 3of Andalucia's provinces Malaga, Cordoba and Granada.
There is a beach on the lake where you can swim and relax, why not take a BBQ and watch the sun go down. It tends to be busier on Sundays with the Spanish who have their Gazebos up and stay till the evening, but it can be very quiet during the week, even in the height of the season. The water is beautiful and warm to swim in, and safe for the children. There is a bar/restaurant just off the beach where they serve traditional Spanish food at a reasonable cost.

ANDALUCIA Andalucia has some beautiful lakes and Historic cities well worth seeing.
Granada The Alhambra is a must to visit, but you are better to book online before your arrival has it is very popular and can be very busy all year round.
Cordoba is a beautiful city and the Mesquita and all the cobbled streets are a good day out.
Rhonda is a beautiful place and it is built on top of a huge rock it also has the first and oldest bull-ring and the bridge is well worth seeing a bit scary for some has is so high.
Malaga and all the Costas are only an hours drive away.
Seville is a bit further but you can do it in less than 2 hours.
Rute is only 20 minutes away and here you will find the Jamon and Anis museums. The chocolate nativity is a must to see but only from October to January.

Pool with a view

Our family stayed at this picturesque and well thought out property for just 3 nights in August after a stay in Alora and before moving on to Granada. The accommodation was clean and tidy and well equipped.The children found plenty to do with the pool, table tennis, darts, games and books etc etc. Whilst the village is very small, the local bar/restaurant Los Pajaritos was excellent and the small supermarket just about covered bare essentials.Unfortunately, we were unaware that the supermarket closes on Saturday afternoons (when we arrived with no provisions whatsoever) and does not reopen until Monday morning. A mountainous round road trip of c30km to Loja was unappealing, so we made use of Los Pajaritos. Kath and Kev were on hand to answer any questions and to chat. Kath very kindly did a load of washing for us. There were other British holiday makers/homeowners dining at Los Pajaritos to chat with and the local residents seemed friendly. Kayenne is a very relaxing and peaceful place to stay, (except for the incessant barking of local dogs and the crowing and gobbling of neighbouring cockerels and turkeys). Iznajar and the lake is a short drive away and is well worth a visit. Overall we had a lovely time here.

Muy lindo, tranquilo y relajado lugar rural

Hemos disfrutado muchísimo nuestra estancia en este apartamento en un sitio muy tranquilo. Desde aquí es fácil de hacer unos días de visita a Córdoba, Granada o Antequera por ejemplo. los dueños Kath y Kevin son muy amables y simpáticos y te quieren ayudar con cualquier cosa que necesites.

Just perfect

Our stay at Kayenne was just perfect. The apartment is a really good size, very well equipped with everything you need (including free on demand movies and box sets) and spotless. The photographs don't do it justice. The location is wonderful (but you will need a car). It's easy to reach Seville, Malaga, Cordoba and Granada. There is a lovely bar / restaurant up the road within easy walking distance and a small supermarket. There are also large supermarkets about a 30 minute drive away in Loja. Kath and Kevin are fantastic hosts and work so hard to make sure their guests have a great stay. Everything you need is provided - including Kath's new Massage Room which Kevin was finishing as we left. We had the most wonderful holiday here and would highly recommend it as the perfect base for visiting the area. Remember to share your yoghurt pots with Pepe the dog ! Thanks Kath and Kevin - if we are ever in the area again we would certainly come and stay again and will recommend you to anyone that asks.

Ideal centre for day trips or just sitting by the pool

Lot's of outdoor space, big shower room and compact kitchen lounge area. 2 friendly lovely wee dogs, Kath is very helpfull and friendly- but if you'd rather be left alone she's okay with that too. If you need a washing machine, Kath has one for use in her courtyard and they were installing a larger fridge freezer the day we left. The food at the pub was excellent and the shop was good.

Excellent facilities in a beautiful location

Three of us spent ten days at Kayenne and all agree the accomodation was perfect with everything necessary provided to make our stay most enjoyable. The directions provided by Kath from Malaga to Kayenne were very easy to follow and we got there without any problems,(needless to say a car is essential). Our hosts Kath & Kevin were on hand to provide advice for exploring the local area, reccomending restaurants etc and generally answering any questions we may have had. This all helped to make our holiday special and they made us feel at home in thier wonderful villa. The pool and terrace areas were fabulous with lots of extras such as barbeque, table tennis, darts, board games and many books and travel guides to help relax or plan your days out visiting nearby towns and cities. The views from the villa are truely outstanding. The local bar and restaurant is just 100m from Kayenne and is well worth a visit also a local shop provides all the basic essentials. The nearby town of Loja is just a 15 minute drive away and has a Lidl supermarket where everything else can be found at very reasonable prices. As a keen rather than particularly good road cyclist I took my bike with me to Feunte. When we arrived and saw the hilly terrain it was a bit daunting but I managed the hills comfortably on a 39x28 ratio so was pleased with that. I will certainly be reccomending Kayenne to my cycling friends as a perfect base for exploring this wonderful area of Andalucia. The roads are fantastic, traffic is low and drivers are very respectful to cyclists. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a wonderful location then this is the place to be.

Great relaxing family break

Located around 1 hour from Malaga, Fuente del Conde is situated in some beautiful hills, not too far from the hill-top town of Iznajar. Kayenne sits in the village itself and is within 2 mins walking distance of the small local shop and the pub/restaurant. Larger supermarkets are located about 30 mins away at Loja. The property has a fantastic pool and garden, with lots of areas for sun and shade. There is plenty of space for eating outside and there is access to a bbq. Our kids (3 & 6 years) loved the pool and due to the climate and warm pool temperature, were splashing around all all hours of the day/evening. There was an abundance of inflatables and toys which also kept them amused. We were able to access the property WiFi in the pool/garden area. The apartment itself was clean and tidy with ample space and provided for our needs. The kids were more than happy in the twin room, which was great for them and cool most of the time which meant they slept very well. There is a AC unit in the main bedroom too. In terms of location, the more quiet and rural setting suited us, as we were able to mix up time relaxing by the pool with days away visiting places and exploring. Fuente Del Conde is close enough to coast, but also not too far from other attractions in the area which are worth a visit (Ronda, Granada, Malaga etc.). We would also really recommend a day trips to the lake at Emblace de Los Bermejales and a walk up the Rio Chillar near Nerja. The close town of Inzajar is well worth visiting too. Kath and Kevin are fantastic hosts and as the complex is part of their home, you really feel a connection to the property and the village. They are both really friendly and happy to help with any question or request. We felt very welcomed and relaxed for the entire holiday.

Perfect for what we wanted

We stayed here for 1 week at the end of August. It was perfect for what we wanted. We spent a few days by the swimming pool, and also did day trips to the amazing cities of Cordoba, Granada and Seville. The apartment was very clean and so were the garden and all the terraces. The views are amazing, especially from the rooftop terrace. There is lot of space, which gives you plenty of privacy. Although you are in a small village, the shop and bar/restaurant 2 minutes away are also very convenient. We would love to come back!

Wonderful country location in rural Andalucia

This is the third time my wife and I have stayed at Kath and Kev's and the place remains as cosy and comfortable as ever. In this part of Andalucia you are just a few miles from lake Iznajar the second largest lake in Spain with it's own beach and beach side bar and restaurant. The property is kept immaculately clean and has everything needed for practical use and luxury comfort. Kath and Kev are the perfect hosts, who get on with their day to day chores but are always available for information or just a chat. I would no hesitate to recommend this place to my friends and relatives. Just a hundred meters away is a lovely bar and restaurant with great food and tapas so driving is not an issue. In the lovely nearby town of Iznajar perched on rocks above the lake there are more bars and restaurants. There is a lovely church and the remains of an old Muslim castle. Even though you are situated in the country there is easy access to major towns such as Córdoba, Granada, Malaga etc. I could go on at length but suffice to say this is one place not to be missed.

Excellent Andalucian retreat.

We had a wonderful stay at Kayenne. Kath and Kevin were very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. We visited Granada, Cordoba and Isnajar, and relaxed in the peaceful surroundings by the pool. We would wholeheartedly recommend this property.

A perfect setting for unwinding and relaxing

Although the purpose of our visit was not for a holiday the time we spent at Kath's apartment felt like one! The pool and surrounding garden were immaculately kept and had a very calming effect whilst lounging by the pool. The apartment was spacious and spotlessly clean. We had arrived very late at night but were still greeted with smiles by Kath. In the morning, we woke to find fresh bread and milk and a fully laid table which was much appreciated. The Villa has a very private feel to it and has fantastic views across the olive covered hills. A big plus was the Restaurant and shop only two minutes walk away and within ten mins drive is the beautiful town of Iznajar. All in all, great location, perfect setting, and excellent value. We will certainly stay again if the house we plan to buy falls through! Thank you Kath .

A lovely property against a serene backdrop

The best thing about Kayenne is the terrace area and large pool. You can see for miles around, but feel totally private. We booked adjoining apartments for a big family party and it was ideal. Kath was a perfect host and very flexible in accommodating a large party. THANK YOU KATH!

Stunning garden with large swimming pool!

We had a wonderfull stay ar Kayenne 2. Kath and Kevin are very welcoming and helpful. The garden is stunning with large swimming pool and several terraces with beautiful views. The appartment is clean and contains everything you need.

Nice quiet setting in the mountains of southern Sp

After 4 days of hectic sight seeing in Madrid and Toledo we were looking for some R'nR' nd found it here. Picturesque serene settin with splendid views from a comfortable pool side the rolling hills of olive groves set the tone for recreation and relaxation. Our one bedroom unit was very clean, comfortable and equipped to meet our needs. Our host, Kath was very friendly and helpful, even going far out of her way to arrange the loan of a guitar. This small villa is located close to both Granada and Cordova where side trips can easily be made.

Just perfect :)

Was on a biker holiday with my friends, stayed In Kayenne for 3 nights. Used both cottages, both was great. Fantastic location, the holiday home has everything what you need, clean and comfortable. A little piece of paradise in the mountains

We arrived to a lovely friendly welcome & a really nicely laid out property. The apartment was spotlessly clean & had a standard of equipment to shame many bigger places, the gardens & pool area are absolutely beautiful & the views are second to none. The village bar is about50m away & serves a good range of tapas with your drinks, the local area has an abundance of good quality restaurants & tapas bars. The lake at Iznajar is well worth a day out, all in all quite easy to find & a lovely relaxing holiday. Will definitely go back

Authentic Scenic Village

Quaint comfortable home in a scenic village about 1 hour outside of Granada. Owners Kath and Kevin are lovely people who went out of their way to make sure that we were comfortable including grocery shopping for us since most places were closed on the day of our arrival. The views of the Olive groves are stunning. It was a good location to visit most of the cities of Analucia-- including Granada, Cordoba, Sevilla, and Malaga. A small supermarket and restaurant are a very short walk and very convenient. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Wonderful relaxing holiday.

We stayed here for one week with Kath and Kev. The apartment was well equipped, clean and comfortable. The outside space is incredible, well maintained with a variety of areas in which to sit. This was our second visit here. We love the area and hope to return in the future. Kath and Kev are great hosts and made us feel very welcome.

Our "Ronseal" Holiday

This was our "Ronseal" holiday - did everything it said on the can and suited us down to the ground! Kayenne 2 is quiet, clean, comfortable, well equipped on the inside - and outside ther is a lovely pool for cooling off with ample space to rest, relax and soak up the sun, even if you have neighbours in Kayenne 1. Add to this hosts Kath and Kev, endlessly obliging and attentive, but never in your face and a super little bar/restaurant just 2 minutes stroll and you really do have everything you need.....oh, and it was great value too! Agréable

Nous avons eu la chance de profiter des lieux pendant la semaine sainte sous un soleil d'été, nous nous sommes mêmes baignés dans la piscine même si la température de l'eau était encore bien fraîche... Les propriétaires sont accueillants et discrets. La terrasse est vraiment très belle et très agréable pour se reposer et dîner le soir... Le village est un peu "perdu" mais il y a un bar restaurant formidable car très joli, bon, et servant à toutes les heures, et même une petite épicerie mais qu'il faut se faire indiquer car elle est dans une maison. La petite ville d'Izanajar à côté offre une vue magnifique sur les environs et nous vous recommandons le bar de la comédie en contrebas de l'église où sont servis d'excellents tapas à des prix très, très honnêtes... En dehors de Grenade et Cordoue, étapes obligées mais nécessitant de faire un peu de voiture, Antequerra et Priego de Cordoba sont ravissantes, et nous avons été surpris par le centre historique de Malaga qui est vraiment charmant sans être surchargé de touristes... Bref, un séjour formidable dans un pied à terre très agréable ! Un bémol cependant : les coqs des voisins sont vraiment très pénibles et nous déconseillons la location à des gens qui auraient de jeunes enfants intrépides car la piscine n'est pas protégée...

Schönes Haus in einer ländlichen Umgebung

Das Haus wählten wir aufgrund von folgenden Hauptkriterien: es sollte ruhig liegen, inmitten von Land und Leute, sollte guter Ausgangspunkt für diverse Unternehmungen sein, ein Internet-Anschluss war uns wichtig. Alle diese Kriterien wurden zu unserer besten Zufriedenheit erfüllt. Das Haus ist gemütlich und sauber, die Pool-Anlage sehr schön (auch wenn wir die aufgrund des Wetters nicht nutzen konnten), die Lage in den Bergen landschaftlich sehr schön. Das große Plus sind die Vermieter Kevin und Kath, die super freundlich, hilfsbereit und stets gut gelaunt sind. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und können das Haus gerne weiterempfehlen.

As described

This was our sixth rental through VRBO. Although we have been satisfied with our rentals, we invariably have had to buy something to add to our comfort and vacation lifestyle. Not so with The Artist's House! Everything was as described and we had all amenities we needed. The other reviewers have described it in some detail, so we will just add that this is all accurate. We had a great week and enjoyed the area very much. Excellent hosts too!
