We really enjoyed our stay. The home has all of the amenities that were advertised and they all worked well. We really enjoyed the pool and the access to the beach was t that much further than if we were on oceanfront. We loved the sunrise/sunset views from the roof.

House needs some TLC

Maintenance issues. Hot tub not hot which was a problem for our group wanting to predominantly use in the march weather. Property manager never responded. Musty moldy smell in the house. Actually saw mold several places in the house & brought that to the attention of the property manager. Grill was half working. Two hours to cook a couple steaks. Take something to cover your eyes while sleeping. Lots of blinds broken.

Trip with multiple families

Good house with great common area for hanging out together. Says sleeps 18 but only if all double beds and all pull out couches have 2 people. A few bunk beds would be better than so many double beds. Pool is half covered by a roof which makes it a little darker but nice to get out of the sun and still be in the pool. Not directly in the water but easily accessible path and only a short walk with shade for half of that walk. Overall a good place for multiple families to vacation together.

Very clean, well equipped, excellent location, spacious, heated pool, hot tub that worked……. I could go on. Rented equipment was nearly new and delivered as promised. Lots of outdoor space to relax.

Fall Break at the Beach

The property is really close to the beach and could walk there everyday which was great. The house itself is huge and spacious but is starting to show some wear and tear inside with rusted vents, chipped tiles and stairs needing be re-stained. The communication with the property manager was great, super quick and responsive, no issues during our stay. It is a little hard to find at night so would recommend arriving during when it is light out.

Family reunion

Great amenities and inside was very clean. Tyler was very helpful and easy to get in touch with. The only negative (which wasn’t a big deal) was the pool/hot tub area was not very inviting. (Hot tub didn’t work properly and pool was dirty). I would still highly recommend this property!

Great location and space!

The house was a wonderful location, super close to the walk to the beach! The path was literally on the other side of the fence behind the pool. It was a great piece of beach that was never overcrowded, we spent every day there and enjoyed the pool in our downtime. The property manager was very fast on responses and if we had a problem they were fast to get someone out to fix it. I did feel like the photos didn’t 100% reflect the current property. There were some minor things like rusted air grates and rust staining by the pool and spa that were not reflected in pictures which I’m assuming are a couple years old. All things that a little paint can fix. These obviously didn’t impact our stay which was great and at an even better location. We will definitely be back in the future!

Almost Perfect

Great home. Incredibly clean. Best equipped kitchen we have had in a beach rental. Very easy beach access, and the proximity to Wild Dunes was ideal. The only disappointment was the spa/hot tub did not work and the required mechanical repairs could not be completed during our stay.

We found the location to be the best. We also used the pool to the max. All 5 of the kids spent max time in the pool and at the beach. We especially loved the well-equipped kitchen since all 10 of us cooked! Thanks for a great week.

Best Family Vacation in the perfect house

Our family loved the Sandy Shanty. The ammenties-2 refrigerators, washer/dryer, 2 family rooms for our large family, plenty of eating and gathering places inside and out. Great seating for all. The pool was a good reprieve from the beach. Loved watching the sunset and rise on the rooftop patio. The bright and beachy decor/paint were inviting and happy. Our family would love to come back and stay at the Sandy Shanty!

This house was MUCH bigger than the pictures reveal! There was an abundance of room inside and out to spread out. The kitchen is also more spacious than we anticipated and the owners anticipated everything you might need. We would definitely rent here again!

"Getting Things to Work"

Fabulous experience! The following were a few technical issues: Hot tub working correctly. WIFI not working, owner had to pay their bill. Sane issue with cable TV Starting of fireplace. was not easy.. Small issues, but a GREAT stay! Thanks again for all of your help Tyler, even being so sick!

Lovely house, horrible property management

We arrived after hours so we were instructed to pick up check in packet at the office. Concierge picked up our packet earlier in the day and did not tell me. Then we get to house and we have no hot water. Spoke to concierge who informed us this was a "known" problem amd he would have a plumber come out. This problem went on for 2 days with 2 different plumbers and the resolution was they property managers would have a plumber call me to go over the special ways you have to work the faucets to get hot water....ridiculous! Once our whole party arrived on friday we realized we did not have enough sheets or towels for all the people and beds. They knew the occupancy of 16 at initial rental. Housekeeping did not come until after 3pm on saturday to open a locked door in one of the bedrooms only to go though rubbermaid bins of mismatched linens that did not fit the beds. The final straw was on our last full day, our beach day, they had a chemical treatment done to the pool which closed it until 4pm! When I inquired I was told it is always done on Saturdays. It made no sense to me because we were leaving Sunday morning and per their check-in policy, the new renters can't be there until 4pm on sunday which would not have inconvenienced us....wouldn't that make more sense?! I understand we are in the low-country, a week after a hurricane but the number of spiders amd huge palmetto bugs we killed in the house was disgusting! Take serious consideration before choosing a property managed by Dune Properties.
