"Our room was modern, spotless, and very comfortable—and the large window was the best part: we were able to see the Northern Lights from our room without even going outside, which was unforgettable. The on-site restaurant was also excellent with great views, and everything from check-in to parking was easy. Perfect base for exploring the Mývatn area."
"We had to wait 10 minutes at the reception before someone showed up to assist us.
The room we were given was on a floor with no elevator access, so we had to carry our luggage up the stairs.
The shower wasn’t great either—it was hard to get the temperature right. Plus, the shower curtain was really dirty and had a bad smell."
"Our stay was excellent. The house was immaculate upon arrival, check-in was simple, and the kitchen had salt, pepper, oil, and two bottles of wine. Instructions are provided to guide you through usage of the hot pool and radiant floor heating. We were in house 2, which had a fire pit as well. For those who want to grill, we noticed a propane grill in the utility room on our last day. This was an exceptional stay with a great view and very responsive host. If we can come back, we will."

"A beautiful hotel and setting with great amenities. We did the e-mountain biking and guided hike, which were lovely - the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Given that the hotel is remote and there are no food options, the restaurant and food was very expensive (but good). The baths were very nice. The room was comfortable but VERY HOT (this is not unique to this hotel, but a thing at all Iceland hotels we visited). Staying up at Highland Base was a highlight of your trip to Iceland."
