"Excellent stay at the Chequers Inn again for a week for the New Year. Beautiful room, good food, clean, lovely staff - shout out to Angela who went above & beyond for us! Lovely compassionate email sent to us following the very sad death of my Dad whilst we were away. Only downside - the bar closed at 10:30pm on New Years Eve! We will definitely return."

"The room was just what we wanted, with two twin beds. The wi-fi worked easily, and the bathroom was very up-scale. The lounge felt welcoming, which expanded the size of our living space. We loved the breakfast, which was both professionally put together and personalized. We felt welcomed by the hosts, who gave us excellent directions and suggestions. A very pleasant stay!"

The most central location you could have in Newport - the bus garage was right next door which took us to all the tourist locations that I would recommend - the needles, shanklin beach, carisbrook castle and the garlic farm. The guesthouse also has an excellent Thai restaurant downstairs, great food, really delicious and great price. "Had a great stay here. Bonus was the entertainer in the bar area (Jules). Comfy sitting areas around hotel. Bed and pillows comfy with good hot water in shower. Staff were also excellent and very helpful. "
