"We were prepared for no hot water, no AC, no cell service, but we were not prepared for the overall shady communication, vibes and charges. We booked this hotel to be close to Corcovado, and booked a tour with the hotel. When we asked for details, they said they said that the communication from Expedia was poor, and they only booked our snorkeling tour. We asked to cancel the snorkeling because the national park was our priority. She said they couldn't because they already bought the tickets....

"The welcome by being collected on the beach and having our luggage taken to the room was a nice touch. The room itself was clean and the view was gorgeous. We were disappointed with the general service, particularly in the hotels restaurant. We booked a table on the first evening and it wasn't ready when we arrived, with the staff seeming stressed at our arrival. We were sat down 15 minutes late and the food took over an hour to arrive, during which time we were not visited once by the staff...

"From the pool to the restaurant to the rooms, everywhere has a stunning view! You can wander the paths to the wetlands and see so many species of birds! But, I’ve also seen coati, howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, a staghorn beetle, iguanas, and loads of tropical flowers and butterflies! You really doing have to go anywhere to see so much! "Hotel Margarita had an amazing vibe, it was blending with nature perfectly. Our room has a nice glass wall facing trees and forests. Every morning a very handsome woodpecker would come and curiously check us, it was really unique. The pool was nice, the staff was super polite and helpful, breakfast was nice and quite filling (fruits, coffee and juice on top of your main option.). "Wonderful, accommodating, and attentive staff!! Beautiful lodge and rooms. Jungle and gorgeously landscaped flowering grounds surround the lodge. The food was delicious and in ample amounts. We did the snorkeling trip to Cano island and the hike in Corcovado park. Saw lots of wildlife on both, though even at the lodge we saw Macaws, a Toucan, Capuchin monkeys, and a large snake climbing a tree! "This a beautiful property with rustic cabins. There are amazing views as it is high up. We saw many birds from our balcony including green parrots and toucans. It is quite a climb from the road, definitely not accessible, but close to Drake Bay beach, a grocery store and several restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. We pre-arranged a tour to Corcovado National Park through the hotel and it went great. You can order breakfast the day before and have it specially prepared for you...

"Wer authentisch in der Natur und bei Locals wohnen möchte, ist hier absolut richtig! Toller Strand, schöne Natur, Trails die wunderschön sind und absolut herzliche und fürsorgliche Gastgeber… das dürft ihr hier erwarten. Frühstück ist top! Abendessen geht nach Absprache auch. Ausflüge könnt ihr auch direkt bei Christian und seiner Frau buchen. Es ist also für alles gesorgt! Viel Spaß und Pura Vida! "

"Die Unterkunft ist direkt am Meer das hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Das Personal war toll. Wir waren zu früh da und durften trotzdem sofort einchecken. 😊 Das Zimmer war auch sehr schön, wenn auch klein. In der Tür war leider eine Ritze, so dass Mücken und die Hitze immer rein können und der Weg zur Unterkunft ist extrem steil hier muss gut aufgepasst werden. Wir würden es trotzdem weiterempfehlen ☺️"

"Really great staff who really know the area and cultivate the farm. They can give you information on ecology you won't find outside of guided tour groups in the park, and there's also yoga. The property is beautiful and it is easy to see birds. It is a pretty primitive property and so you should be expecting bug bites and no modern comforts. Bathing in rainwater is amazing, but it is also not warm. Also the ants really bite- I was itchy for a week afterward. So be careful. "

"We had a great 6 nights at Casa Gitana, we had a lovely room with a shady private patio, our room was cleaned everyday and the staff were great. Breakfast was included and there is a restaurant for lunch and dinner. It's a short walk to the beach and many tours can be organised at the hotel. Thanks. "

"The view from the room overlooking the bay is very nice, but the room has no air conditioning/heat pump so it is hard to enjoy as it is very hot. There also are no screens in the bathroom so every night there are many insects, several of them are quite large. It made for a much less enjoyable stay especially at this price point. At the very least, I would suggest they install screens so that there won’t be as many insects."

"Room was clean although the bed was fairly soft & a little uneven. Unfortunately we were right by the pool with the pool towels (clean & a dirty basket) was by our door so people were often right by our door. Once we returned and a lady was holding a towel up so the other woman could change in front of our door! Talking from those at the pool went right through the window glass. There was supposed to be a 10 pm quiet hour but our neighbors didn’t pay attention to it. On the good side, the...
