"Treasured family traditionThis was my 5th time staying at the Bensons' cabin. As always, it was amazing. We live only a half hour or so away, but don't have our own lake place. "If I could give more stars I would! This is a total experience. The hosts are so friendly and helpful. They are so happy to share their piece of paradise with others. If you want to get away from it all, this is the place. Birders, this is located in the bog with great birds waiting right outside your door! "Amazing property and great experience overall! Roxie and Kelly are exceptional hosts and we cannot recommend them enough. The house has everything you could need, is exceptionally clean and well equipped for a family vacation. Check in was easy and everything was ready for us when we arrived, the kitchen and the rest of the house is fully equipped even if you forget something, you don’t have to worry as it will most likely be available for you to use from plates to coffee, it’s all there. "

"Great setup. Lots of sleeping options. Washer and dryer with detergent etc. Only suggestion would be to add a sign to indicate the entrance and a light as we arrived late at night and wouldn't have found it if the owner hadn't waited up for us. Definitely appreciate that!"

"This was the perfect place for our family of 9! It's better than the pictures! The yard and lake are great for days of fun, plus we drove to the iron mine one day and North Shore Drive another. The cabin was comfortable and had all that was needing for a relaxing stay. We loved the loons and the friendly squirrel. We even saw a bear near Makinen!"

"We had an excellent stay. We had basically 5 adults and a toddler and never felt crowded. Everyone had fun at the lake. We spent most of our time running around visiting family so it was nice to have a relaxing place to come back to.We had a short power outage and both Carrie and Andrew were quick with communications and keeping us informed when it was expected to be back on.
